  1. Get the 4gb version of the 680 I heard a fully modded skyrim with hd texture mods takes up to 3 gb of video memory also get an i7 processor that ends in a k so u can overclock something like this should last u even till the next elder scrolls game
  2. the alpha channel of the normal map has the reflective map in it so if youre inverting values maybe that is being inverted also.
  3. ok so when you open the skyrim meshes main bsa archive with the FO3 utility tool then extract the 1stpersonsteelbattleaxe.nif and the steelbattleaxe.nif. Open them up and change the WeaponBack to WeaponAxe like I told you before in both of them and Save them. Then take these nifs and put them in a folder inside the meshes folder which is inside the Data folder in your installation directory. Then in Creation kit find via filters and open up 1stpersonSteelbattleaxe by double clicking on it and you will see where it allows you to change the location of the 1stperson nif. Browse and select your modified 1stperson nif and click ok which will close the window. Now find the entry SteelBattleaxe and under art and sound tab browse and change the selected steelbattleaxe nif to the one you modified, and for the 1stperson one just leave it as is since you already modified it. make sure the animations are set for one handed and it is set to be wielded by one hand and one hand skill and there you go. Click ok and save the plugin and activate in NMM and it should work in game.
  4. You need to open up both nifs (i.e. 1stpersonsteelbattleaxe.nif and steelbattleaxe.nif) through Nifskope, expand the 0BSnode and you will see a line there says something like WeaponBack. You click on it and below you will see a line that says Prn and on the bottom String Data line you will see WeaponBack. Click on the little txt icon next to WeaponBack and when typing box opens change it to WeaponAxe. Save the nif and do the same for the other nif file. Then in CK you will probably have to point the Weapon entries and recipes and stuff towards the nifs that you modified if you want to replace the vanilla battleaxe to a one handed. If you want to make it a unique standalone item then creat new entries for it and point them to the nifs you modified.
  5. Hey guys Ive been recently playing some KoA:Reckoning and liked the chakram mage weapons so I made some for Skyrim. Turns out it looks odd sheathed at the hip and I cant make it sheath on the back without making it a 2h weapon. I bent the angle of the plane of the weapon so that it didnt stick out at 90 degrees in front but now it clips with the leg and armor a bit. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make it sheath further down the side or on the lower back or something. Maybe someone made animations for daggers that double sheath on the lower back so you can draw them like an assasin because then I could adapt that to this. Any help would be appreciated. Textures are still beta and will be finetuned and maybe add some effects from the vanilla daedric artifacts to display in the middle of the disc just like in KoA:R game.   6. I too have a problem with the helmet floating with no head/neck visible underneath. Help anyone. As for your texture problems make sure vertex colors are on in the nif under nitrishapedata and face normals by right clicking it and under mesh and make sure the num uv sets is 4097 and then update batch tangent spaces under spells tab. If you have a proper diffuse and normal map everything should look fine texture wise.

  8. Hey guys need a little help here. I just finished my first helmet and attempted to import it into skyrim. I used somuchmonsters tutorial to copy the skin/weights thing from the helmet from eternal shine elven mod. The thing shows up in game fine and all but the head and neck disappeared underneath the helmet when you wear it. any suggestions what I should do. Also why are some of the vanilla helmets in the nif files show up with the neck and covered eye holes as if they modeled the helmet onto the head? I downloaded some helmet mods to see how they were made and they just had a plain mesh with bsdismembermodifer and all empty inside like a normal ground model.

  10. Well the 2nd part sounds good so sure feel free to use any of my stuff in your mod. :) Lore is not scary just a lot of work for a boring looking result. Btw whats the theme of Your definition of lore in your mod.
  11. watch ghosu's tutorials part 2 towards the end explains all about how to make the normal map. I got several weapons in game so far with no problem with shinyness following those tutorials.
  12. any way to make two one handed weapons sheathe criss cross on your back like a ninja when youre dual-wielding?
  13. I'm not that into lore friendly weapons theres already several packs that add a huge collection of lore friendly weapons and I think skyrim needs some more artifact fancy weapons. I'm probably gonna try making the infinity blade next. :)
  14. Hello everybody, Im just starting out making new unique weapons for skyrim. Check out my signature for what Ive made so far. Anyways I always found it boring to just be able to smith them or find them somewhere. It would be much more interesting to obtain them via some quests involving intense fighting. I am not good with the ck at all so I am looking for someone who is interested to make quests where at the end you fight a super strong enemy using one of my weapons and you can only get it by killing him and looting it. I really hope theres someone out there who has nothing better to do than create some quests :). If no ones interested then maybe point me to tutorials where I would learn how to do this on my own.
