About Nowhereville

  1. Turning the area after the trapped guarded approach into a player abode would also be funky. I like the idea of a reversed tower layout. A cylindrical abode reaching deeper into the earth. The Refectory being the top, as the machine may need some sort of solar energy harnessing apparatus to work, then spiraling down from there. The Alchemy and Enchanting stations should be in the same area as the Refectory to complete the "lab". Then, going down from there: Prisoner level (for experimental purposes of course... Many Snow Elves were harmed in the making of this mod), Smithing Level, Storage Level, Library level, Living Area Level, Bedroom Level w/ Secret door. Below the secret door could be a small study with an extra spell tome or two, and a teleportation platform that could transport the player to any of the larger Dwemer ruins.
  2. Would it be possible to add a forge like construct to the game that would allow the player to tailor make new spells? Here's what I have pieced together so far in my muddled mind for backstory: A powerful Dwemer Mage that sought isolation from his peers to pursue his art hunkers down in an underground complex of his own design. He is paranoid about his peers stealing his discoveries, so he has riddled the approach with mechanical guards and traps. His shining accomplishment has been the Dwemer Spell Refectory where he can harness the very essence of Magicka and weave it to his will. Functionality - The player can mix and match any of the existing spell effects in the game to make a new customized spell, which can also be named. - (Limitation) The player can only use spell effects that are contained in already known spells. Optionally, the player would need to feed actual spell tomes into the refectory to have those spell effects available. - Material Cost to produce - the player will need to place a Centurion Dynamo Core and filled Grand Soul Gem into the refectory to power it up and attempt making a new spell - Physical Cost to produce - The more powerful the spell, the more lifeforce that is sucked from the player upon forging the new spell. The requisite amount of health is immediately removed from the player upon forging... if the player attempts to make a spell that is too powerful for his or her own lifeforce... they can actually die. At the foot of the Refectory lies the corpse of the Dwemer Mage, centuries dead. On his person are one Centurion Dynamo Core, one filled Soul Gem and his journal. His journal provides some back story on his discoveries and near the end hints at a very powerful magic the mage wants to create, but he is worried it will take too much out of him. In the end he was right, it was his research that killed him. Is this at all doable?
  3. Oh, and for bonus points.. any NPC that enters the light radius of the spell gets forced into an extra cheezy dance animation....
  4. Mimic the existing candlelight spell but turn it into a floating disco ball that stays active for the entirety of the accompanying song: Stayin' Alive by the BeeGees
  5. Here's a couple of ideas I tossed around the mod request forums in the past that may contribute some thoughts to this project: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/635252-actual-ultimate-follower-mod-make-followers-into-a-faction/page__p__5002960__fromsearch__1#entry5002960 http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/654498-request-dragon-stances/page__p__5162869__fromsearch__1#entry5162869
  6. A thought about how to introduce this into the game... Add a monument/statue of some sort that can be activated at High Hrothgar. Different stances would cost a certain amount of Dragon Souls to purchase. I originally thought that adding an NPC would be better, but the amount of greybeards is pretty intrinsic to the story. Possibly placing an NPC in another location and have him as a rogue Greybeard. Possibly even joining the Blades at a certain point in the storyline (I don't want to put any spoilers here) and offering to train the Dragonborn in these stances in exchange for souls. Requirements for stances would be based on perk tree levels... for isntance you would have to have a certain level in one handed and block to be able to purchase sword and board stances.
  7. At anytime during combat, the player can shout to change stances into his chosen dragon fighting form. This would affect player stance, how they hold their weapons and combat chains in place of power attacks. There would be multiple stances attached to weapon loadout: - Sword and Board - Dual Wield weapons - 2H weapon - 1h weapon and offensive spell - 1h weapon and defensive spell Using any power attack or directional power attack will launch the player into a different associated 4 or 5 strike combat chain as opposed to a single power attack. If damage calculated at onset of the attack will bring the enemy's health below 0, then upon completion the attack would end in a slow-mo killmove. If the player is staggered while performing an attack chain he is stunned and the chain is broken. Stamina continues to drain throughout the chain... if the player releases the attack button mid chain, the move in effect completes and the chain ends. Different stances could favour the player with different bonuses and balancing risks: - More defensive stances cutting down on damage taken but weakens attacks - More aggressive stances allowing the player to do more overall damage but leaving themselves open to counter damage - Berserker stances upping attack speed and AoE damage but with high stamina drain and low health drain - Spell Empowerment stances that push up damaging offensive spells but make the player more susceptible to elemental damage - Defensive spell stances that multiply the effects of those spells but cause a higher magic drain Theoretically there would be 10 different stance chain attacks available to each weapon loadout. One for regular power attack, four more for the directional power attacks, then 5 more for both hand power attacks. Initially there should be one stance available for each weapon loadout, but as the mod progresses additional stances could be added so the player has even more choices to make while using their favourite weapon loadout. Sound doable?
  8. If a player spends a certain amount of time in a city sans clothing, a small mob of UJML (Upright Julianic Morality League) protesters show up and follow the player around, hitting him with protest signs displaying aptly close-minded sayings such as "Talos always wore pants" , "You could take an eye out with that!", "Keep your sword sheathed and your breastplate on!". etc... As mentioned in the topic description, if the Benny Hill theme song could play over this it would be perfect. The protesters disperse when the player finally succumbs to peer pressure and puts his codpiece back on.
  9. It would be cool to have a player home with an outdoor statuary with a few empty daises. The player could interact with any statue object in the world if he/she has a roll of paper and charcoal stick in their inventory. Then, the player talks to the artisan he is the benefactor of, gives him the sketch and tells him which dais to fill. After a certain amount of time the finished statue would appear on the dais, scaled if necessary. Options could be the ability to have static or dynamic statues... instead of just a lump of stone, the artisan could copy a Guardian Stone. Also, the player could have a statue version made of an npc or himself... copy the model with a granite texture to the mound in a variety of poses.
  10. Not a clue... its still down now, but here is the link. You can find it here when its available again as long as the author doesn't change the name of the mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10898
  11. This should work for you: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9504
  12. I can't link it at the moment because the author is updating so the file is hidden. But, I belive the mod: "Vampire FX Project" should give you all the vampire goodness you are after. You can find it on Nexus when he is done updating the file.
  13. THis should do it for you: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1175 You also need to have the latest SKSE installed... where to get this is listed on the Uncapper mod's front page.
  14. To make this idea more lore friendly, and answer the question why the Dragonborn doesn't go >POOF< when the writ of sealing is put in his inventory, this should be introduced as a new quest after Forbidden Legend is completed. The optimum delivery would be a dream the first time the player sleeps after completion of the original quest. A meeting between the Jarl in question and a Dragon priest mentioning the location of the Dragon word of power used to activate the writ. The player would wake with a new quest identifying the location of the crypt. At the end of the crypt, the player would emerge to an outdoor location with 3 undead dragons, whose souls were used to empower the writs. The Undead dragons protect a shout wall, from which the player will learn the shout necessary to activate the writ. After completion of this quest, the player needs to reverse-pickpocket the writ into an unsuspecting non-essential NPC's inventory, then use the shout to rip the poor sod's life force from his/her bones. Then, as mentioned earlier, the player could revisit the associated tomb which has been repopulated with the unlucky NPC as the named boss Draugr at its end. This could be done multiple times as long as the new boss draugr has been defeated and the writ recovered. A great way to get rid of NPC's in the game that deserve some comeuppance.
  15. I thought it would be funky if after completing the Forbidden Legend Quest that you can actually use the writs of sealing from the three brothers. If you reverse pickpocket a non-esssential NPC in the game and place the writ of sealing in their inventory, that NPC goes >POOF< and ends up as the named undead boss of the newly repopulated associated dungeon. Strictly a novelty... I just thought it would be fun.
