  1. As far as I could see (maybe I missed something), I can confirm weapons disappear once you holster them. Equipping a weapon in the pip-boy won't make it appear on your character (melee or guns). Kind of a let down since they made steps towards immersion with flowing hairs and clothing...one step forward, two steps backwards.

If you make mods for endorsements or praise then you're in the wrong in the first place. Modding is first and foremost people improving their games for themselves and then sharing their creations out of good will. That's why users (must) accept incomplete, buggy, beta, unfinished, unsupported or abandoned mods. Put money into this and you get what ? Customers, who are protected by laws and will be much more vocal about bugs (and rightly so this time). I am so glad I couldn't monetize my Skyrim mods back when I uploaded some because they would just be a pain to support today with my full time job. Your way of thinking is the exact opposite of the modding system as it is and as it should be because you mod while waiting for something in return. The community is not responsible nor did it force you to use your free time to mod or share your creation. Endorsements are fairly recent on nexus, mods existed long before and will exist long after endorsements disappear. I fully understand where you come from as I've experienced it (for another game) but you're wrong in the way you approach the situation. Ask yourself why you mod, if your answer isn't "because I like it" then you've got your issue. Stop modding for others or fame, mod for yourself and you'll see things differently.
  3. To OP : this is absolutely normal and has nothing to do with steam. It's simply a matter of intellectual property rights and this is how software ownership works. The owner of the intellectual property rights on the software is always the creator of the software, alias the author. The buyer of a software is never granted the property over the software, unless the author agrees to it by contract. In most of the case the buyer only buys a licence to use the software, for a certain period, which can last forever. Again, it's a matter of contract provisions. You have no ownership over the software but you have ownership of the licence, hence it grants you the right to use the software, within the limitations of the contract. If Bethesda or Steam sold you the ownership of the software it would allow you to do everything you want with it while Bethesda couldn't do anything at all. You could decompile or modify the code. You could sell rights for publicity while Bethesda couldn't. You could even rename it My Skyrim and sell it because it's your property, you own Skyrim from every point of view. Basically this would be a suicide for developing companies and they could not sell more than one game because they simply wouldn't own the soft anymore.
  4. Hi all, The mod "sounds of Skyrim" and especially the "rain hitting wood" demo made me think of something that would really improve immersion in my opinion : a sound for rain hitting the player's armor/weapons/helmet. To give a comparison it's like when you hold an umbrella or when you are wearing a hood, you can hear the rain hitting it. I wonder if it's possible and if someone would be able to do that. I believe this would be awesome and as I said it would really add to the immersion, especially in 1st person view. Thanks
  5. I try to keep it lore friendly yes. Why ? For immersion. In my opinion the more you escape the lore, the less it's easy to roleplay...and if you don't roleplay in an elder scroll well you probably miss the core of the game. Will I always only use lore friendly mods ? Probably not 'cause it's great to have some fun too.
  6. From what I've seen of the demo this game has nothing in common with skyrim except for being a rpg and being an open world. If you had to compare it with something it would obviously be the fable games, because of the graphical aspect and the "one button for one weapon" simplified combat style. Other than that I found the demo pretty awful. The graphics are meh, the menus are just painful (even in comparison with skyrim's), the dialogues aren't really interesting, it's really hard to control the character with the mouse, low character customization etc. I could go on but I think you get the point.

  8. Good videos. Vigilants of stendarr vs dremora lords would be nice. I always wondered what these deadra fighters were capable of.
  9. The same happened with all his other mods at some point. He said on newvegasnexus that he is bored with skyrim and doesn't want to mod it anymore. It probably explains why the mod disappeared......
  10. Not sure if it was mentioned before but there is a mod which "takes care" of the annoying greetings by reducing the needed distance for the phrase to be told. You can find it here : http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=746
  11. I'm pretty sure this is Ironbind barrow near wayward pass and the guy is argonian. Lucky for you the character i used to do this quest didn't visit many ancient ruins. An advice if i may : don't kill them there's a nice twist in the end.
  12. I believe this hasn't been mentioned before so it might help. If the random or overused npc speaches are immersion-breaking for you there is a mod which drastically reduces or disables the npc greetings here : http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=746 IMO this is a must have. I was so tired of hearing "i work at the general goods store" or "come to chat with an old woman ?".
  13. You should check who Tale words are and what they do. You might like it and understand how very sarcastic (and well done) nephilim's reply was....
  14. Had that issue too and it was really annoying. I solved it by remapping the commands : i moved the "toggle always run" key on a side button of my mouse and reassigned the shift button to sprint which is more natural for me.
  15. I had never seen anything quite like that, then i took an arrow in the knee
