  1. Hello there, goin right to business: My rig AMD Phenom II X4 840 Preccessor 3.20GHz 8GB RAM Windows 7 64bits Power Supply: 420W Graphic Card: ATI Randeon HD 5450 DDR2 1GB (Multimedia card mostly and not gaming, came with computer) I have knowledge, if it's true or not I've got you to confirm even with my suspicions that Skyrim uses the CPU for most Shadows and the ENB's work better with Nvidia cards. Right now, with this card Skyrim runs well with 1280x720 resolution with a mix of High and Medium settings with every AA and FXAA turned off. FPS it's good, but not as smooth if I ran at a mix of low/medium settings or even simply medium. I prefer High and Medium and it's actually extremely acceptable in terms of gameplay. Recently tried an ENB and it still works well, even if it has a slight drop of FPS, but I use a non SSAO version so I actually get a good drop of the full quality of the ENB or any other I try. What I want is to be able to play Skyrim on a higher resolution and actually be able to try new ENB's without losing the smoothness. I know that no matter the rig, there is always a drop, no matter how minimum, but at a 1280x720 resolution some games aren't as aestetically pleasing. I could even play any Assassin's creed with it with high-textures, but the resolution would break the immersion, since I own a 190x1080 monitor and having huge black bars (even if you're not paying attention at it) I eventually realize that actually I'm losing quite something keeping playing like this no matter the fun I'm having. It runs Shogun 2 two, but at 1280x720 doesn't work very smooth, and at 800x??? it just breaks the quality and aestetic views of the game. I can pay to 300€ MAXIMUM for a new graphic card. I "know" that Nvidia GTX580 are high end, 570 mid-range and 560 low range and Skyrim accept them all but I would also like to know if what I'm paying for the new card, I'm really paying for a good or huge improvement comparing to what I have now. I'm not looking to play everything on Ultra also because I doubt it would be possible in a 300€ range, but still I want to be able to tweak a Ultra there, a high in many parts and a medium just for the slight touch for example + play in a higher resolution + test ENB's + be able to enjoy these new games that already came out a year or two but wasn't able to play like the Witcher, Shogun 2, etc. Not looking to play these on Ultra killer settings, but I want to also make sure that the resolution I'll have to use or graphics don't make the game blurry, therefore, losing what makes it immersive (aesthetically speaking). The fact I was able to play AC games still surprise me though...so I guess my CPU is alright, but the graphic card is lowcost/end. The other motive I'm asking for suggestions, is that I want to make sure that these GTX I mentioned are compatible with my CPU. Hardware it's not my area sorry. Thanks for reading and I'll be awaiting reply, Sorry for english, not my native language =) Cheers!
  2. I'm just throwing this out there, but have you thought maybe a collaboration with Interesting NPC's? There are lots of characters there, and some not voiced yet, however many are written and a few have actually quests. They accept quest contributions and all, . Check it out Interesting NPC's Was just a suggestion anyway :) Don't forget to keep the thread updated!
  3. They actually built some of a centaur for skyrim, I guess they never finished it because all that is there is the skeleton for it in the data files... I expect it in a DLC... Oh...didn't know that. Thanks for the info :). In that case I hope so, It would be a great add to the wildlife, maybe joining them with the sprigans
  4. If there was this kind of "Zombie Village" around Zombies would be a good add. I mean, a player is wandering around, someone finds this place (no matter, a huge camp, a couple of houses) and then BANG, some screaming humanoid comes to get us with this huge hand-to-hand damage, and if the player is hit it would get some kind of badass desease that needs some custom, moded crafty potion to cure it. I know, it's cliché and there are plenty undead around, plus, they're not that supernatural even if they could be servants of Namira (there I go with this Daedra 'Matriarch' again xP), but still I leave here the idea. A Centaur, coming from a «Elk» body and substitute the neck-head part for a torso and head with this Ancient Nord Armor and a Waraxe. Cerberus - someone is wandering around, (again), in the dark and a huge 3 headed dog comes howling at us. Could be black with lava markings here and there just to let us know that it definetly comes from Oblivion. and...and...a PIXIE!!! but since you've got the fairies, well, is that the same thing? =/
  5. I think it's better to focus on one of them first, either male or female and then when one becomes finished in terms of "programming" then try to work out in inserting the other gender option on the same mod. Something like "if it's female then do this else do that" I'm just thinking out loud here to make myself clear of what I'm thinking, you know, I don't know how CK scripting works =/ EDIT: I think meeting in same fashion is excellent and make modification just in dialogue and NPC/location. At least make this "in a row" and then make the proper modifications...you know...updating. It will need testing anyway.
  6. Creation Kit. The Holy Grail of moding. It's a tool that helps quite a lot with replacing and scripting pretty much everything else in the Game.
  7. Well, using Norse, Scadinavian, Polish, mythology and so on would be a good add and source for supernatural beings that would fit skyrim perfectly Mermaids - maybe "Ice Mermaids" found along the coast or simply mermaids found in the bigger aquatic areas. Succubus - the sexy demon of rpg fantasy would be a great add and maybe some quest makers would give it a good use if you're making a ranged character Manticore - the "Upgraded" version of the saber cat xD Ghoul - similar to the Draugr but, well, more human and Canibal like (and with eaten flesh instead of skin and bones). Could work as "Minions of Namira" the daedric lord of repulsive things =p Vodyanoy - pick a Horker head and instead of fins it would have legs and humanoid body. Could wear an heavy armor, who cares!!! Harpies - well...maybe the Upgraded version of the Hargravens? and a Kraken that appears somewhere near Winterhold to screw up the rest!!!!! (over excited Brainstorm?) Well, can't remember much more really. I mixed Greek mythology I guess xD but whatever. There you go, though. :) EDIT: Skyrim has my worst nightmare already. Spiders...
  8. I'm sure there's tricky scripting into this but that's an awesome idea indeed. An excellent add to make the game more immersive. I think some "Love Letters" would be cool even if just for the fun of it and because you actually can. Maybe comic Love Letters, Friendly Letters just for the pleasure of reading too. That's an idea to hold on to. Good luck :)
  9. I find it a very interesting idea and could turn out to be a quite enjoyable mod and add us some more variety into the romance options, plus more quests to keep us busy. However it would envolve some (some?) scripting and that takes hours and time. I've tried once in oblivion. Failed but got the picture ;p guess programming was never my thing anyway. We all know that Bethesda informed the release of the CK this month, but no matter the time it takes to come out, before the "doing" must come the planning, even if it's just the writing, which I've been doing for a long time, though not an english speaker and didn't do much writing in english, I've had my experiences. I say to use one of the already existing villages (Towns). Either a mining town or a small settlement. Some of them don't have big sidequests and don't require you to go too far and more importantly they're not much alive in terms of action that goes around them besides the casual farming/mining or the typical tavern that gives us quests to deliver at one of the major Settlements. My suggestions would be Dragon Bridge, Shor's Stone or Karthwasten. I read some Thalmor envolvement in it specially having a Thalmor dick as a romance (primary?) option. Well...I quote what Sagenth said: "I don't like this for socio-political reasons and the fact that altmeri are dicks." Having a Thalmor as a companion, even if it's a «softened» one by the player's charms...I don't like the idea. I'd say we can still focus on the fact of who they truly are. Thalmor. Aldmeri Dominion. High Elf Supremecists. They're fanatics and having a Thalmor on our side as a lover would be, well, romantic but at the same time would cut off their dominant and intriguing personality. Although... ...while the quest rolls up, there could be away to «soften» the Aldmeri Dominion. A true antagonist has a human side to him. Some...goodness. They're not human but they have weaknesses and through the quest line it could be explored in a way to soften but not pity them and like them so much that we, players, would fall in love for them the same way they're «supposed» to fall in love for us, players. Maybe it's a way to go a bit deeper into the Thalmor feelings and motives, out of the box, avoiding a bit the "they're behind the empire's necks somehow" rumors. The player would explore a (few) dungeon, a (few) fortress, talk with a few NPC's (that they were not that difficult to create in Oblivion, but tricky), get a few items and while at it we were getting to know our quest giver. Maybe he had relations with the Aldmeri Dominion and we are working out a plan to clean his profile and keep the Thalmor at bay so they cannot collect the bounty on his head. There would be no obligation though that our quest giver would be the only romance option. we could find a couple of other interesting NPC's from different races. two females and one male or vice-versa and pick up 3 different races. Nord, Imperial and Khajiit (just as example). Oh, and different "classes". A warrior and a ranger (example). Maybe fall in love with the person hired to kill the one we are protecting? Don't know. A possibility. Of course this would take a lot of work, but hey, this is obviously in the planning phase and needs reflexion and all and while CK is not here, then comes preparation. Another thing is: this is all a BRAINSTORM! :psyduck: No need to be intimidated by the work. we can live our lives normally. Moding can still be a hobby and a form of learning side stuff and keep our heads busy. Learning is good. ( :armscrossed: Easier to say though, I know, I know). Well, that's all I got to say for now really. Please feedback! ='D If you need help with something say it, I've got too much free time now. Going to start on my "writing moments" and if you need help that's all I can offer for now it's...more writing! Peace! Making quests turns out to be a :wallbash: =/ though
