  1. In response to post #55023428. #55028243 is also a reply to the same post. Don't know if you've ever done any amount of formal work on a project of this scale but it takes a serious amount of time, troubleshooting and fixing. This isn't some overnight job the Nexus team is working on, its merging bleedin' NMM and MO (as far as I can tell). Be patient, lose the entitled attitude and release day will fly up, whenever it may be. Remember, all of this is being given to us for free.
  2. Love the new site design guys, its quite different from the old one but to my mind, for the better. I study Creative Computing myself and find the sites new Bootstrap-esque layout to be rather inspiring, and I can see how much work clearly went into it, plus the benefit of being able to add and remove functionality with less hassle is great on the back end. Here's hoping people will learn to live with the change and, perhaps, even come to prefer it. Kudos Nexus team! Looking forward to seeing what happens with Vortex :)

  4. Hello, I'm looking for help regarding a crash I have encountered in Skyrim SE. I recently started playing again after taking a break and decided to change some things up in my load order, take some mods out, put a couple of new ones in etc. I installed Bruma, changed my weather mod from True Storms to Vivid weathers, updated some mods that had new versions and mostly just took out some smaller single plugin mods that I had no interest in keeping. I also changed my ENB from ReEngaged to Natural View Tamriel. I am under no illusion that I can keep playing old saves, and I have no intention of doing so, so I created a new character. I ran around in god mode so I could get a feel for the ENB, tweak it a little, and then actually start my character, however I tried opening my map and the game crashed as soon as I hit the 'I' key (This is my shortcut for the map). I then reloaded my game, tried opening the map and same result. The unusual thing I encountered was that when I created a new save a second time, this character was able to open the map, but after about 5 minutes of running around the map issue started to happen again. I'm quite familiar with modding my game properly and have no issues in my load order as far as I, LOOT or SSEEdit can tell. I feel it is also prudent to mention that I have opted into the Creation Club beta (Pretty much just to check out the Survival Mode thing and redeem it for free if I decide its worth keeping). I checked online for others with this issue and quite a few had it, but the majority seemed to fix it my deleting the line, "[screensplatter] bBloodSplatterEnabled= 0". I didn't have this line in either my ini or my prefs ini, so I have no idea what could be causing this. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you. - Timmhaze
  5. Good to hear, when I saw that we both had awesome crippling effects that set off alarm bells in my head. I have around 2500 hours in New Vegas and the majority of them have been modded heavily so when I saw a bug I've never seen before I had a hunch it was a new mod, something I'd never used before. Guess my hunch was right. Glad to have this all wrapped up, and thanks again for all the help you guys supplied. Time to get Back in the saddle :P

I have done a more lengthy post over on Valfauns thread, as I've said there I will continue with my testing tomorrow (As of time of writing) and let you know what happens. If Awesome Crippling effects is the cause then it is imperative that we contact the mod author to notify him Of The Issie so he can create a patch. The mod is popular (For good reason) and could potentially affect a lot of save games.
  7. Hey again, yes raiders are dynamically added from a levelled list so resurrect doesn't place the same one, it simply says "resurrect a raider" which will pull any raider from the levelled list. You can use the resurrect 1 command to resurrect an NPC as they are. To make an example, easy Pete is dead, you remove all his clothes for sick kinky reasons but want him alive again. You use resurrect and boom, he's alive but his inventory has been reset and he has his clothes again. Resurrect 1 on the other hand will simply male him stand up, as if he'd fallen over. Pretty useful, although it didn't reset NPC speedmults for me. Just to clarify on resetting an NPC, if you were to change Your Own speedmult it wouldn't take effect until you entered sneak mode or drew a weapon. This is handy for companions as they'll enter sneak mode with you, but npc's can be slightly harder to deal with. That being said, there are a myriad of ways and I'm sure with a little creativity we can find a simple one. There is indeed a Getav command, and yes I did use that to get the speedmult Of The npc's, probably should have said that sooner lol. While I haven't checked it myself, there is also the Getavinfo command That Won't just get the current value, but also any modifiers that are being applied to them. It won't show the source of it, but I imagine it will say something along the lines of base: 100 modifier: x number. If you look at my post I've stated that removal of Awesome Crippling effects SEEMED to fix the problem on my end, however I didn't test it extensively enough to be certain. Unfortunately I have been in work all day and an extremely tired so I won't be able to post further troubleshooting until I play again xD If you find a solution or if the non-jip version works Id be greatly obliged of you shared it with me :P Thanks for the update. Hi Valfaun, I have been having the same problem as you, in fact I posted my issue only about an hour before you lol I took a look at both our load orders and did some testing and have reason to believe Awesome Crippling Effects is the cause. I'm not certain yet so lets not get the pitch forks har har but I do know that if it is the cause, your character has one of two options: - Start again, as in delete current character or whatever and make a new one. This would be due to the fact that the speedmult modifier that is making the NPC's shoot around the place has already been set and is a vanilla variable. OR - Select any NPC in who has this bug in the console and type "setav speedmult 100". This will set their speed back to the default value. You then have to either find a way to knock them down, or get them to crouch or something to update them to use the proper speed. I believe reloading the cell also works.   9. So I have done some testing. Upon removing Awesome Crippling effects and reloading my most recent save (In Novac, where the issue always crops up) nothing has changed. Electro-city Engineers are still warping around at light speed and I am still annoyed. I did, however, load an old save, one from just after leaving Doc Mitchells house. I used my own speedmult command to run over to just past Nipton, then I used the console to COC to Novac. The issue wasn't immediately present in previous experiences, so I went around and did the usual stuff I would normally do, albeit 5x faster. I went into Cliff Briscos shop, I did the majority of the quest, Come Fly With Me, and I returned to town. It was always without fail around this point that I would see the bug happen. However, it didn't. The sample time is a bit short imo but it could very well be the case that Awesome Crippling effects is having some issue with one or more other mods myself and Valfaun are using, or that it is a bug that can just randomly hit. The author of Awesome Crippling effects has a sticky note up saying that a previous incarnation of the mod had issues regarding speedmult, but this issue caused NPC's to walk far slower than intended. He has since fixed this issue but perhaps its gone a little(lol) overkill. Either way I will test this again with time being a few hours (Pretty much activate god mode and do a speed run of all the quests that I'd normally do between Goodsprings and Novac). Once again, if anything crops up I will post about it here.
  10. Hey, thanks for the replies. Funny that someone happened across the same issue as me around the same time, where before I could find nothing about something like this happening. I can't help but wonder if it was caused by a recently added or updated mod. It would seem that both Valfaun and I use Awesome Crippling Effects. This mod does change the speedmult of NPC's, but only when they're legs have been crippled. I'll do some testing and see if disabling it has any effect. I must also thank you for the help regarding load order. I wasn't aware that old. deactivated plugins have an effect on the game. I'll have to keep that in mind in future. Also Zan Auto Purge was considered one of the foundation mods for stability, I thought? I'll assume your information is far more up to date than my own and remove it. Besides, if the fellas of the Script Extender team take issue with it then who am I to argue xD If I find anything else I'll let you guys know. Thanks again for your help.
  11. Hello, I've been experiencing a strange bug in Fallout New Vegas. I have made 3 different characters to test the bug and each of them has had the same result. If you were to follow the route the main quest expects you to go (I.e. Goodsprings > Primm > Nipton > Novac etc.) to get to New Vegas, random NPC's from Novac onward have exorbitant speedmults. The range I've seen was from 700 - 27000. For those reading this that are unaware there is an actor value called speedmult that does pretty much as the name implies, it's a multiplier for player and NPC movement speed. The default value is 100. In fact, its rare to see any humanoid with a speedmult greater than 100. So 700 is ridiculous, let alone 27000. The bug seems to have a preference for mod added NPC's (Willow and Electocity engineers are the most common) but I've seen it effect NCR, Securitrons, Brahmin Caravans and all sorts.   12. Try installing BOSS and running it for Fallout New Vegas, it will do the majority of the work for you. You do, however, have a very small amount of mods. You have 3 mod's, (Not including DLC) so I would say you should have no problem adjusting the mods manually, and from what I can see your load order is fine :smile:

  14. Hello to anyone who is interested in reading this. Any help is appreciated. In the past few weeks I have been filling my spare time with a fair bit of Fallout: New Vegas play. I have had, modded, and played this game many times. Of course, since it's a Fallout game built off of the Bethesda engine it is buggy, prone to crashing and generally not very stable. Onto the main point. My game had been running smoothly up until around 2 days ago. I had been doing a Courier play through, as in a character who follow's the role of what I would imagine the courier would be like (Wasteland, cowboy-esque, survivalist with questionable morals, but does try to do the right thing at the end of the day etc.). I have been systematically been finishing the companion quest lines before going off to the Divide and then Hoover dam to finish off the story I had made for my character. I was on Veronica's quest when this crash had started. I had brought her to see Elder MacNamara and she had just finished arguing about the direction the brotherhood was going in etc. I was leaving the level 2 room, got that stern talk from the members of the BoS and then wen't through the door up to the next level. All of a sudden, my game froze and crashed with the error message and so on and so forth. I assumed it was a once off, the game is very glitchy after all, so I reloaded and tried again. When it crashed the second time I got annoyed, reloaded, and instead used the "movetoqt" console command to teleport myself to the objective, a terminal in which Veronica would find where the energy weapon the I needed was. As soon as I appeared in the room with said terminal, my game froze, and crashed, just like before. In other word's, the crash happens when I load a new cell. I have tried several different methods of fixing this.   15. In recent months my Skyrim has been crashing. This crash only happens in the wilderness and really takes away from the immersion of the game. The crash happens in an instant, no freezing, no error messages and no black screens, it simply closes the game as if it had been closed by me. I have searched far and wide in a search of ways to stop, or at least circumvent the problem, but nothing has worked so far. I have tried turning my shadows down to low, I have cleaned all of my mods, they are all compatible, I have run BOSS, I have tried the sound fix but none of these fixes has worked to date.
