  1. Are the NPCs in my Skyrim just much smarter or stronger or something? The only people ever killed by vampire attacks are guards. I don't have any mods that change the vampires, NPCs, game difficulty, damage multipliers or anything like that. As far as I can tell, my vampire situation is vanilla.
  2. You just need four pieces of light armor, they don't need to be of the same set. The same goes for the 'Custom Fit', 'Unhindered' and 'Wind Walker' perks. Only the 'Matching Set' perk requires four pieces of the same set.
  3. Come to think of it, this is just one of many examples in the game where you don't get the dialogue options you might've liked. There's A LOT of possible personalities that aren't covered by the dialogue options. The amount of times where you just have to accept that people talk down to you is ridiculous. But as someone rightly pointed out: Voice actors are expensive and you get a relatively small amount of content in return. It's not even new content, it's just presenting the content in a more immersive way. Bethesda is a business above all else, so they have to ask themselves whether it's really worth it to add twice as many dialogue options as they have now for example. It has never been their intention to create the best game, just the best game possible whilst still making good profits. Noticeable in relatively small things like the dialogue and the fact that a lot of "unique" weapons are just enchanted, renamed versions of regular weapons.
  4. That is one of the major downsides of being able to play what might in many other games be a cutscene. Unfortunately in Skyrim, because of bugs or mods, you might have to restart the game and go through it all over again. For me, going to Bleak Falls Barrow for the billionth time is really annoying. I don't even have to look at the Golden Claw to know the combinations: Snake Snake Whale at the room with the switch, then Bear Moth Owl at the large door. That's how many times I've been through that place. Yeah, that too. I don't even have to remember the animals. I just know how many times I have to activate the pillars/rings. 1st pillar once, 2nd and 3rd pillar both twice, activate lever Turn all three rings twice, activate claw. But at least there is some excitement while playing through the burrow. Experiment new ways to kill things, or a draugr might do something funny or unexpected, it's never completely the same twice, unlike the graybeard part.
  5. I've grown to hate the Graybeard part of the main quest. It takes up a lot of time and you're basically just standing around listening to some old guy talk, then you look at some words on the floor, then you have to shout three times and wait for the shout cooldown each time. Then you think you're finally done, but no. Go outside and wait for the Graybeards to join you at the slowest walking pace possible, and the whole thing starts again. (Thank god they don't make you do the Whirlwind Sprint three times as well) The annoying thing is that this is some sort of interactive cut scene. You can't skip it and you can't just go and get a drink and a snack until it's over, and yet there is absolutely nothing exciting about playing this part of the game. You'd think that they keep replayability in mind while designing an Elder Scrolls game, but they seem to have completely ignored that for this part of the main quest. So whenever I do go through that, I'm too pissed off to really pay attention to whether it's "realistic" or not.
  6. He really is supposed to be that tough, Notsure122. Your game is not broken, you just give up too easily. I beat the Ebony Warrior with legendary Stalhrim light armor and battle axe. No enchantments. I also used shouts (Dragon Aspect, Unrelenting Force, Elemental Fury) and a lot of healing potions. Just be prepared for a long battle. It's a lot easier to distract him with summons/followers while you attack with archery or magic, but that's just not my character's style.
  7. It seems like every single mod that adds spells leaves a copy of the spell tome on Farengar's desk. Should have seen the pile of books I had at one point. That's why I made sure to sticks books in out of the way places in my own mods. Haha I'm guilty of that... He is simply the first real mage you see when you start a game, his desk is easily accessible and in my case it also matters that he's the leading expert on dragons (besides Esbern and the Graybeards) so it just seemed like a logical place for my dragon-themed spells. I could've just as easily placed them in High Hrothgar or Esbern's hideout or even the college, but those are all far less accessible. I guess Esbern's hideout would be a good place if I ever wanted to make a balanced version of the spell, but for now it's simply an overpowered spell for the fun of it so why bother trying to find a balanced/fitting location. My guess is that most people who placed their spell tomes at Farengar's desk had similar reasoning.
  8. You don't get a choice. Basically the house is already there, but disabled. "building" it is just enabling it, one piece at the time.
  9. If you have finished the main quest where you use the scroll and the Dawnguard quest where you use the scroll, you can sell it to the Orc librarion at the College
  10. Human form is a "normal" vampire, so you get your vampiric drain spell, you're weakened in the sun, etc.
  11. My 'Prisoner' save from just before character creation is 4.2 MB, so yeah I'd say 4.7 after Helgen Keep is fairly normal.
  12. The question is: Why would you want to help the Nords instead of the Rieklings? There are plenty of human followers in the game already, the Nords of Thirsk Mead Hall really aren't anything special. Riekling followers on the other hand are a unique addition to your game.
  13. My largest save is 13.3 MB and perfectly stable.
  14. They do have magical abilities. When you go there after seeing Miraak for the first time, they are holding up a magical barrier to keep Miraaks brainwashing out of the village.
