  1. Not sure if anyone's made this suggestion yet, but one thing that annoyed me on the current mod is that "Animal" spawns mainly consists of a lot of insects. IDK about you guys, but to me, the insects are annoying af(And, no pun intended, kind of buggy, especially those immortal bloodbugs), and there's already more than enough of them in the game. I was hoping to have a hunter playthrough where I shot Radstags and yao guai and all that, but I ended up spending most of my time mobbed by insects. If the new mod has fine-tuning options like that I'd love to see animals and insects separated(I know that's not scientifically accurate, but still.).
  2. I just hope this mod, for the most part(Barring optionals) sticks to using vanilla assets/leveled lists. One thing really great about the original mod compared to spawn mods for every game was how well it interacted with any and all mods that changed leveled lists and enemies. Some mods insist on adding new (usually badly named)enemy types and tiers instead of using the vanilla leveled lists Genuine increased spawn mods, with the fat trimmed out, are far and few, but greatly appreciated. On an unrelated note, would love for some more expanded options, for example, maybe separate creatures into insects/animals/robots. The current mod seems to add a lot more insect spawns than anything else when choosing animals/creatures, and who doesn't hate swarms of giant bugs? (Masochists I assume) Oh and, massive appreciation for picking this back up, always loved this mod.
  3. Anyone have a tutorial on how to successfully edit an NPC/companion in the Geck or fo4edit? My geck attempts have resulted in NPCs with blank faces void of detail/complexion, obviously it's possible in both the geck and fo4edit judging by the number of character overhauls, I know in Skyrim you needed to export the edits, but I've downloaded npc overhauls that had no extra files needed outside of the esp., so, what exactly is it I need to do to get my changes to stay?(And keep the details as well?)
  4. When I go to edit a weapon in the geck, the object windows fails to show up no matter how many times I double click or push edit, I have to go to "open windows" to find the window, (It's listed, despite not being visible or interactable.)close it, and then re-open it. After doing that the melee weapons have 0 dps, and all weapons have 0 damage, it isn't a matter of just not showing it either, if I edit the mod and save it, in fnvedit it will show that the weapon's dps has been changed to 0. Tried reinstalling the geck and deleting the ini folders with no luck. Anyone ever experience something similar or have any suggestions/ideas and what might be the problem and how I can fix it?
  5. Quite simple, when I go to edit a weapon in the geck, it first fails to show up no matter how many times I double click or push edit, I have to go to "open windows" to find the window, close it, and then re-open it. 6. The animations have been placed in your directory, determining what is and isn't vanilla isn't necessary, vanilla game keeps it's files in a bsa archive, deleting the animation in the actual folders doesn't matter, they're likely mostly from the mod anyway.
  7. I think an ideal solution would be for modders to set their price range to 0, I think in general mods will still sell for those who genuinely want to support them.(Look at things like kickstarter, people who want to support the content creators they love go above and beyond) And no offense to Nexus, but compared to it's donation system it would be a lot more streamlined and less awkward. Mod lovers want their favourite modders to be able to continue making great content for them. What they don't want is for previously free content to be locked behind a pay wall. Obviously those who aren't willing will continue to set their prices whatever they want, and instead of valve and beth shouldering the responsibilities it will be on the individual modder to handle their own PR. If they want to support and contribute to the micro-transaction culture that the most controversial game devs are a part of then they shouldn't be surprised when they get the same reception. People claim it's the vocal minority, I don't think it is, they're getting the same treatment as beth did for their horse armor, and ultimately it's completely fair.
  8. So, I've been looking for this mod for a while, or well, it was more of a resource pack. What I remember about it was the sheer number of images submitted for it. It had Reilly's ranger combat armor variants, loads of different armor and weapons, and a load of super mutant armours and mixes, I think it even had some vehicles, like a tank maybe. I'm really mostly looking for it for one mesh in particular, which was a sort of buffed up version of the Reilly's ranger armor. Having serious trouble finding it, I think the way I found it to begin with was by clicking a resource category that I think isn't around anymore?
  9. Like others have said, you get the chip at primm, the deathclaws are a recent development, and the distance is significantly greater than it is in game. How much of what was living where may or may not be known by the courier. As far as I see it, it depends on the character. If they're a badass then they knew they could handle themselves, if they were sneaky they knew they could get by unseen, if they were a non combatant they likely weren't aware of the dangers and were just taking the fastest route. If they were stupid, they knew there were dangers, but were too stupid to avoid them, lol.

  11. The modding community in Fallout: New Vegas is alive and well, mods are plentiful and high quality.(Sometimes massive in scale.) Can't go wrong with visual mods, especially given that Fallout New Vegas mostly uses Fallout 3's ugly outdated assets. These are my essential visual enhacement mods(Including a mod with that exact name.): (I don't know how a laptop would handle this visual mods.. Probably not too well.) Animation Replacer: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38527/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D38527%26preview%3D&pUp=1 NMC textures: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/43135//? EVE: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42666//? WRP: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38285//? NCR Trooper overhaul: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/52721//? XV enclave:(Makes the best armor in game look the part): http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/44490/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D44490&pUp=1 As for bodies I'd suggest picking one of the type 3's, almost every armor requires them. For males, Breeze or Robert's, Robert's is better, and makes it so you don't look like a mutant with veiny freak hands, but breeze's is more compatible. For faces, I'd suggest http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/39218/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D39218&pUp=1 It's not compatible with any mods that change npc inventory however, such as the trooper overhaul. If you play a female character, I'd highly recommend Nuska's Wotw, http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/51084//? I'd put ADAM here is well but it has a buttload of esps that do things that I don't care about, and some are necessary just to get the replacers to work bug free.. Suggest picking up an ENB, which one is up to your preference, as most differ dramatically in style. I use blackout 4GB, necessary preformance enhancement: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35262//? As for gameplay, my favourite mod is not in the nexus, it's jsawyer mod, you can find it by google searching. It's a mod made by the lead designer of New Vegas, it fixes a lot of bugs, as well as correcting some imbalances, and adding the difficulty that the game should have had.(As well as making hardcore actually hard.) Other mods I like are: Nights are darker Unlimited traits(Traits have pros/cons, so why limit them?) Faster wait time http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/53082/?tab=3&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fid%3D53082%26user%3D1&pUp=1 HD faces, but I don't use the human, it's a bit of WIP, I'd recommend using the ghoul texture/mesh though, huge improvement. If you want it to feel almost like a new experience, not just visually, I guess you could use Project nevada. I personally don't like it, but it's basically a huge collection of lots of different gameplay changes, and addons, and basically just makes NV a whole new experience. For new worlds to explore I'd suggest Beyond Boulder Dome, http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/46907//? it's about the size of a DLC pack(Maybe larger) has new enemies, weapons, areas, new npcs all voice acted; VA quality ranging from decent, to great, with the occasional awful(Chinese soldiers.), long multiple choice quests like the base game, and is just overall my favourite DLC style mod. For new weapons I'd suggest pretty much anything by millenia, although the downside of those mods is that along with levelled lists and vendors, they also spawn in doc mitchell's house, which can get annoying if you install a lot. My favourite being the Pancor Jackhammer and the duplet. I use more mods than this, but I don't remember any more off the top of my head.
  12. Hey there, anyone have a tutorial on how to separate/remove individual pieces of armor/clothing? To be specific I want the hoodie from this outfit: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120111145907/fallout/images/thumb/e/e4/Wasteland_wanderer_outfit.png/600px-Wasteland_wanderer_outfit.png (Female version, for type3). If a mod already exists, (Or a similar mod that adds a standalone hoodie )please direct me to it. I have little experience as a modder/modeler :X, so if you think it isn't a process easily done by a novice: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1144100-standalone-hoodie-mod/ but otherwise I'd like to learn the process of separating items and making them compatible with w/e body mod.
  13. I don't know if such a mod already exists, but I'm just looking for a simple standalone hoodie mod. http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120111145907/fallout/images/thumb/e/e4/Wasteland_wanderer_outfit.png/600px-Wasteland_wanderer_outfit.png < Like a separate version of this, I know of a mod that attempted to make individual articles of clothing for the type3m body, but not all of the outfits worked(Worst of all not the one I wanted.). So if anyone could separate that above outfit so it could be worn on it's own(For type3 body) I'd appreciate it.
