  1. Yeah... and actually I think it is quite nagging. I understand that the premium membership maybe needs a bit more advertisement, but come on... while this may be an effective place to do so, I'm fairly sure that it will not be a popular change within the community. At least let the (also new, but maybe it is the same as the "download preparation" before just with a fixed time) countdown start without an extra click.
  2. I like the new navigation... with one exception. Giving the Nexus home the more prominent spot of the game homepage doesn't make much sense from a user perspective. If we are already on a game page, users probably in most cases don't want to go back to the Nexus home, they want back to the game they already selected. I'm fairly sure analytics data proves that point very well if there are really any doubts about that. So while it's not that terrible to click "one field further" (even if this "Game Homepage" button is quite unremarkable) and you surly can get used to it, the main issue is, that this most prominent spot is now occupied with probably the most useless function within the navigation bar. The only page where a click on that spot should direct you to the main nexus page is... well, the main nexus page. But I guess there is a reason behind this change not related to user-friendliness or anything like that I don't know anything about, so at the end, it's a bit nitpicking from me... Overall: great work, guys.
  3. Thanks. Having tried to uninstall graphics driver, creating a custom profile for the creation kit, setting compatibility modes and a lot of other stuff within the last 12 hours to get this issue solved. Never thought it could be related to the beta patch...
  4. What I don't understand here is: I guess the Nexus sites are one of the bigger sites that old ad-provider has. Maybe even the biggest. They surely generate a lot of views. So how on earth can such a provider even afford to more-or-less just ignore such legitimate critic by the site owner. It should not only be in his own interest to hold such a big site network as a partner, it should also be in it's own interest to maintain a high quality in his served ads.
  5. The correct way, at least for the german version, is to add under the [General] category within the CreationKit.ini (located in you install directory). Skyrim had a similar issue (except it didn't completely crash on loading). For every other language you have to replace de with the shortcut of your language files found in your Data\Strings folder (Fallout4_XX.DLSTRINGS)
  6. The beta for the creation kit isn't running on steam. Check Bethesda.net for that :)
  7. And while we are in this funny "copyright, law and such stuff" corner... Well, essentially, what MP wants to do is plain and simple reverse engineering. ESPs aren't in any human readable plain text. And of course, TES5Edit does the same... WB does the same. But the difference is: users do it for their own personal use. The data they get that way isn't distributed or used in any way outside their own personal computer for their own needs. Loading these records to a server, is actually no difference to upload the complete ESP to the server. And in many cases that already is the complete working plugin. This is in no way comparable to things like file size, date or any other meta data, like some guys in this thread tried to argue. And while I personally haven't that much problem, because I know crowd data can actually solve problems, I totally can understand mod authors who think otherwise. And making statements like this https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_e2exg7K5tufcU5RzyIQpMg7n2sX1_sVWRZ1fjzAUY4 isn't helping, either. Sidenote here: I would get a second opinion from a second lawyer, if I were you, guys... So with all that hassle, all the drama, all the arguments, all the decisions, all the compromises made... all the light at the end of the tunnel made in the last few hours... don't try that "we have the right to do this" route. That probably won't work out for you. Talk to each other, like you do in many threads already and try to find solutions. Without the approval of the modders, your project will be dead before it's even started, believe it or not.
  8. 1. please write a redirect rule to refer all incoming http links from external sites to https. Should be doable within 5 minutes and resolves a lot of trouble for external links to nexus sites or files, links in descriptions and so on. This is also important for your search engine ranking. If you don't redirect, you produce a lot of dead links and this will rank you down. 2. make the connection completely run SSL or don't do it at all. Firefox warns about the connection isn't safe because some elements are still loaded through a unsafe http connection (images? videos? scripts?) and some other browsers will per default either just don't load that content or will even don't load the site at all with that kind of mixed content. This is probably also the explanation why so many users have problems right now here in the comments. Other than that: great you switched to secured connections, thank you. Very appreciated :) Uh... edit: the server went down for a few minutes and now the connection is indeed complete secured. Works fine, thank you again :)
  9. Well, it may not caused by the new download system, however, in the last few weeks I couldn't download ANY file at the first try at any given time. I always got a connection time out... didn't matter if it was early in the morning, during the day or late at night (GMT +1). Sometimes it worked after a few tries, sometimes it doesn't. That seems to be working fine again now with the old system back - and - and thats the strange thing here - it works now on any server for me, European same like US. Funny side note: even if I had preselected EURO in my preferences, the new download system tried to download from a US server every time.
  10. Well, actually, the risk of also getting banned to downloading files will probably result in just to simply don't comment on files anymore at all. I never had any problem with a mod author here, but considering moody mod authors (and yes, they are sometimes and respond in very irrational ways sometimes, have seen such conflicts between users and modders a lot of times here) and that english isn't my native language, which could possibly cause unintended misunderstandings, I for myself will possibly pass on commenting any file here in the future. While I see and understand that you want to reduce the work the nexus-stuff has, and while I also don't want to jump on the censorship-wagon, I think thats a lot more power than a mod author should have on such a community based site. If, in the past such abuses happened, the stuff reacted and decided based on facts and for the most time neutral, a mod author who feels attacked or emotionally offended probably won't... thats why prosecutors aren't judges at the same time. Just baning a user from commenting a file - and only commenting, would have been a more suitable solution. So, for me: no file comments here anymore - no critics, and because it feels very wrong to me to being forced to just post positive comments, no praises, too. If I really want to give feedback, i'll do it over at BGS forums. Sorry, mod authors and sorry nexus stuff. But for me, that change just didn't feel right and I can't see it to change anything for the better.
