  1. Hi zixi, thanks for the tip. I haven't installed MCP on this system yet, but will try to this weekend. However it works out, I'll report here.
  2. I played Morrorwind with MGE, the Morrowind Code Patch, and other mods some years ago. Right now I playing vanilla Morrowind on a modest laptop. I have no mods installed. Unfortunately, I have not been able to install the Morrowind Enhanced Textures. I tried the following: First, I made a backup of the Textures directory in the Morrowind Data directory. Then I copied all the files from Enhanced Textures into the Data/Textures directory. When asked if I wanted to allow new files with the same name as old ones to overwrite, I replied yes. The game runs as before, without any enhanced textures. Help would be appreciated.
  3. I hope to have a computer I can run with STEAM and get Skyrim. If I do, I'll create a mod similar to the Abandoned Mountain Shack, but probably a little bigger since computers are getting more powerful now. :)
  4. I understand the need for ads that provide revenue to support the site. However, the popups are extremely annoying; especially those that make you go through a maze of buttons to get rid of them. For one I got today, I used the Windows Task manager to quit by browser. However, when I started a new session, it opened with that popup, forcing me to read through all the spin, etc. to find how to exit it. I've been using TES Nexus for years and all my mods are posted here; many not posted elsewhere. If these popups continue, I for one will remove my mods and go elsewhere. Neither I or my users should be forced to navigate through these popups.
  5. Oscar, I admire your determination. There is a set of tutorials specifically intended for creating content in Blender for Oblivion. The current tutorials: Blender2Oblivion Sessions 1 and 2 can be found at The Modeling Forum at the TES Alliance. Based on your questions, I believe you will find these very helpful. They cover many topics including UV mapping and creating collision in Blender for Oblivion.
  6. Dusty', the best way to start is with the CS and vanilla Oblivion objects. Some really amazing mods have been made with nothing more than that. To get started, try the CS Wiki and the beginner's tutorial. I believe you start by creating a small dungeon. Once you've done that, say, add a fence and shed. After than, find a nice place for a house and use one of the vanilla Oblivion houses. There is an exterior and an interior shell that you can fix up and furnish. I'm sure you realize that if you want to achieve something challenging, it's not going to happen overnight. But, if that's what you really want, plot a realistic path, with intermediate milestones, that will eventually lead to your goal.
  7. Dusty' and Alonso', If you are not ready to model an exterior home from scratch, you can make one using objects available in the CS from vanilla Oblivion. I made the Top of the World that way. You can do a bit better using the House Modder's Tool Kit. It allows you to create things like walls, roofs, columns, etc. without learning 3D modeling. If you want to keep out the weather, you are welcome to study the weather scripts from my exterior homes. Just give credit if you use them. Vince
  8. Actually, an exterior home in Oblivion is possible--and practical. I built the first exterior home Top of the World some three years ago and, more recently, the Abandoned Mountain Shack. Rain and snow are kept out via scripts. The homes are relatively small to minimize the frame rate hit. Although there are some compromises, the experience is much more realistic and the houses have been quite popular (the shack is rated #7 out of about 1100 homes).
