  1. Found this one: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4916
  2. Thanks for the advice Celt43. I tried some similar things recently. I wish any of my other computers could handle Skyrim. In any case, I solved the problem. Rather, it was solved while I messed with stuff. I changed all my driver settings in Catalyst Control Center to the best and then all those in Skyrim to max all at once. This didn't work at first and then I restarted once more and it was fixed! But I couldn't reproduce the problem after. I assumed it must be the texture filtering setting in CCC or the one in Skyrim. But when I set these back down to low, it didn't cause the problem again. Oh well. at least it got fixed. Thanks!
  3. Are you sure it's re-downloading everything? I have several back-up copies of my local skyrim folder and every time I have used one Steam only downloads the latest patch when I run the game next. It takes a bit of time, but not nearly as long as downloading the whole thing.
  4. I'm adding pictures. Hope this helps. I've now totally reinstalled and started a new game. http://skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/images/2929789-1325627752.jpg http://skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/images/2929789-1325626278.jpg Note the low-res Prisoner clothes in the first and the blockiness and weird resolution on Rolof's body (but not on his face, hands, boots). I currently have no mods applied.
  5. I really like that instant reanimation potion idea, too!
  6. My character is not a spell caster, and I find Soul Trap as an enchantment to be overkill. No need to keep applying that one and run the charge down because some tough boss took a hundred stabs. So, I would like to be able to craft or buy poisons of Soul Trap so that I can apply it to my weapon only when desired.
  7. Have you downloaded new video drivers? I've experimented with several different ATI drivers playing Skyrim and found this had made several major changes in the look (some, good, several bad). Right now I'm using the 12.1 preview drivers.
  8. CPU most likely has very little to do with it. I'm running Skyrim just fine on an old Core 2 Duo at 3.0GHz. If the change happened because of texture packs and whatnot, you're probably facing a Graphics Card limitation. With the latest version of Skyrim and 8GB RAM you should have plenty of memory room for all those textures (thus no crashing), but that doesn't mean your graphics card is robust enough to handle it. I have a Radeon HD 6850 and even so I'm pushing that thing to the limit at times.
  9. Hey all, Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help. Currently I am having a weird problem. It seems like the torso of my character and all NPCs have been restricted to some sort of super low-res texture setting. It's worse than the vanilla textures. This applies to the bodies, armors, and any clothes worn on the torso - all characters. Whether a standard game item or a mod, torsos and worn torso items look blurry and pixelated. This is especially weird since it means the game is somehow lowering the quality of textures created by modders, including all the items in theImproved NPC Clothing mod. I can tell the mod textures are being used by the color, but the items have become blocky and blurry. All faces, gloves, boots, and hats/helmets still look as they should. Things I have tried: Using virtually every video/texture setting offered through the Skyrim start-up Options. Deleting several of the install files and then having Steam verify/re-download the install. Deleting the contents of the data folder and using NMM to re-activate the mods I use. Activating different texture mods. None of these made any difference. Help, please.
  10. There was no setting for AMD drivers to fix this problem. However, the 12.1 preview drivers did fix it! Huzzah! Now I can have smooth edges and hand/weapons free of bluish-green outlines.
  11. Looking for exactly this as well.
  12. I am also looking for a mod like this and if it's already out there, please reply with a link. I ran into this just trying to disenchant my Thieves Guild basic armor. I already have better lockpicking bracers and better prices enchantment helmet, so I wanted to just take the enchantment, but it can't be done. Also can't disenchant the Amulet of Talos for shortened time between shouts.
  13. Is anyone else having the problem where the shopping window will close out back to the dialog sometimes when they try to click on different selling categories? This often happens when I first open the barter window and try to click on seller's MISC section heading. It just closes out as if I hit TAB. I suspect this might have something to do with another problem I have where mousing over categories doesn't automatically highlight / select them. The selection will remain stuck on an earlier item even though my pointer is over a different selection. Then when I click it activates not what my pointer is over but the item that is highlighted. So maybe clicking a category you're already viewing is supposed to exit the barter window?
  14. There's all kinds of fortify bugs in this game. I just got my character to 100 pickpocketing and rand into the bug where now any fortify effect actually decreases pickpocketing odds. Pickpocket
  15. This problem has to do with the AMD driver for HD 6000 series and AA in Skyrim. I wrangled with Bethesda support for a while on this and the only solution I have found is to totally disable Anti-Aliasing. As I said above, the recommended forcing of this setting in CCC did not work for me (or other posters I have read on the web). Unfortunately, totally disabling AA can cause some pretty horrific jagged edges. I notice this on the edges of my swords and bows and wonder if a weird outline might be better.
