  1. I am going to guess that you are using one of the many lighting or weather mods out there like I am... I have this same issue with more than one lighting/weather mod but it goes away when I deactivate those mods. These appear to be objects generated by the game engine as opposed to static rocks that you can manually place in the world with the Creation Kit. I've unpacked the BSA files to see if I can figure out which mesh and texture set they use so I can try to change how light interacts with these idjit little rocks and fix it but no luck so far. Edit - I found the offending mesh, it is meshes\landscape\grass\rockgrasssnowobj01.nif Kind of counter-intuitive to name rocks as grass but hey, it is what it is. I opened the mesh with Nifskope and sure enough, these are the ones. If I can figure out how to change their shader settings (I think that is what needs to be done) I'll let you know and give you directions on how to fix.
  2. The issue is with one mesh, nortmpextplatstairmid01 edited by Better Dynamic Snow. I figured out the fix and it works! Here is what I did in the Creation Kit: 1 Load CK with Better Dynamic Snow set as the active file. 2 In the 'Object Window' section, go to 'World Objects' and click on the boxed + to expand 'Static', scroll down to find 'Dungeons' and do the same. You will see 'Nordic' in the list, click on the boxed + there to expand the Nordic section too. 3 Left click once on 'Exterior' to select/highlight it and you will see a list of items in the 'Editor ID' section, scroll down until you find NorTmpExtPlatStairMid01Snow 4 Right click on 'NorTmpExtPlatStairMid01Snow' and select 'Edit'.' You will see a section called 'Directional Material' with 'Max Angle' and 'Directional Material' settings. 5 Change the 'Directional Material' setting to 'SnowMaterialObject1PBetterDynamicSnow' 6 Click OK. 7 Save the mod and exit the CK. 8 Load your game and enjoy steps with consistent snow cover! Edit: I am using v2.20 of Better Dynamic Snow but had the same issue and this fixed it for me.
  3. Are you running a Realistic Lighting mod? I get this same issue along with dark blowing snow on the ground when using any RL mod but when not using it the snowflakes appear normally.
