  1. "At the end of the day I do not run the Nexus sites with a businessman’s head. My aim isn’t to increase page views/premium membership/revenue year on year (if it was I’d be dinging out Nexus sites like there’s no tomorrow), it’s to run sites that actually benefit, support and compliment a community, with emphasis on the compliment aspect rather than trying to over-run a community and move everyone away from the sites and official forums that are already entrenched within that community." Interestingly, its this approach that more businesses *should* take. (The old fable 'slow and steady wins the race' comes to mind). If you were to do the scattergun approach of starting a nexus site for every game and then seeing what sticks, you would have a much higher failure rate and destroy the reputation of your brand. So kudos on being a responsible community member AND a sound business manager. Hopefully others learn from your example.
  2. Hi! I'm having a similar problem. Sometimes my first hit or two does no damage. I have no mods in common with you, and it only started since the 1.5 patch. It is also happening with new characters. Its really frustrating.
  3. I've had one crash since 1.5.26, but thats probably because I have an absurd number of mods installed. :) My biggest issue is the stuttering and screen tearing I've been seeing since 1.5.24 installed. I'm using an ATI graphics card, and my understanding is that Nvidia users got a speed bump and ATI users got more lag. I'm a bit peeved - mostly with ATI. I'm not updating my ATI drivers to 12.2, I'll skip straight to 12.3 to avoid some skyrim specific problems, but I wish I didn't have to pay as close attention to every little update. I don't mind checking my mod manager every morning, and keeping on top of SKSE etc, thats the price I pay for modding. But I resent it when its steam or ATI delivering me patches that just bork things up.
  4. I recently escaped from prison by the blessing of Mara, and began a new life as a student at the College of Winterhold. I had an afternoon off from classes and decided to go for a walk down the road towards the Shrine of Azura. As I crested a hill I saw a group of skeletons. Thankfully I had learned a special Dynamic Ward spell just that morning and so between that and my loyal conjured familiar, was able to fend them off with heavy blasts of fire. Feeling pretty smug I continued up the hill and around a bend... There were shades, draugr and skeletons in such vast numbers that I was forced to hitch up my mages robes and run hell for leather back down the hill. I ducked behind an outcrop and hid. After that I decided to leave my countryside jaunts until I could convince one of the other students to come with me.
  5. Recently my girlfriends game bugged out, and she was unable to access Jenassa's inventory anymore. After fiddling around with the console for ages, I eventually decided killing Jenassa was the only way to get back all the stuff she was carrying. My girl has a slightly mad attachment to Jenassa so insisted that I kill her somewhere appropriate (we ended up deciding on the Kynareths Temple in Whiterun) and lay her body out all nice before looting it. Anyway, I kill her, lay out the body, take her stuff, and then I respawn Jenassa. She appears right next to her corpse, takes one look at it, looks at me, and says "Hey, I don't want any trouble, not after what you did to me last time!" I cracked up. :)
  6. Hey there nick05! I've been using the STEP guide by the Compiler. Its a really great guide to mods both graphical and that subtly enhance game play. http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11 If you download it it has a PDF that will take you through some of the best mods nexus has to offer.
  7. You are probably looking for Elys Uncapper. Its here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1175
  8. Fantastic idea for a mod. I'll start taking notes as I play so I can give you proper info, because these sorts of immersion breakers really irritate me too. The one that really bugged me was also in Winterhold, and it was the dialogue that actually alerted me to the lack of change in the NPC's reactions to me: I had just become the Arch Mage and went to see the Jarl of Winterholds Steward (he's that guy who asks you to steal a staff for him so he looks like he knows something about magic), and I spoke to him and he says something like "I don't really know anyone up at the college, people just assume I do because I'm a dark elf" I think he should say something like "Hah, now I really do have a friend at the college!" and/or "Can you mention how close we are to the Jarl?"
