  1. Hi all, trying to learn how to use FO4Edit i decided to try adding a new scope to the assault rifle, it seems to be working as intended except for the fact that the scope itself is being displayed around half a foot above the guns reciever. sceenshot for clarity: http://imgur.com/n8jCQB1 Does anyone know how i can edit the 3d placement data for the scope so that i can line it up correctly? Thanks in advance for all who read and any willing to help.
  2. have you found a way round fixing your problem yet? sorry for late reply haven't checked the forums much recently. If you haven't could you be a little more specific describing what has gone wrong, from your last comment I can't honestly tell, either way good luck.
  3. well see that's the problem dj, I guess i was kind of talking about adding a new mechanic. I wanted to staple two effects together under certain conditions but this from what I can find in the files isn't possible to edit with the files spat out by wcc_lite. also I don't fully understand what you mean by: if you're refering to \uncooked\gameplay\gui_new\gwint\engine unless I'm entirely mistaken there's pretty much nothing in either of the files in that folder. If (and i do mean if, as i said I'm really new to this) both the files in that folder have very little actual code in them, they seem to compile data when the game is running from other sources, namely swf files that are inaccessable. If u mean "def_gwint_cards_final" then yeah thanks man got that one down. again thanks for trying.
  4. Thanks for the speedy reply dj. Unfortunately I'd already tried all of these options. Ive look in def_gwint_cards_final - but the only information in there is the adding of abilities to cards.Def_gwint_king_cards anddef_gwint_battle_king_cards - are both specifially adding abilities to the leader cards (def_gwint_battle seems to be an outdated version)def_items_gwint - relates to the cards when they are in the inventory of gwralt or NPCs.I've also looked inside the gwint related scripts as u suggested in the gui dir but nothing in those files seems to be what im looking for. I look in ...\uncooked\gameplay\gui_new\gwint\engine but unfortunately again there just isnt the information in the files, they all seem to call the information I'm looking for from sources i can't find, I'm thinking either my uncooked files messed up somehow in the uncooking process or maybe they aren't editable with the modkit? I don't know, thanks for trying all the same man.
  5. Hi all, I'm just starting out trying my hand at modding some basic things; thought fixing a few things gwent related would be a good start. I've managed to find how to modify individual cards but what i was primarily looking for was a way to change/ alter the mechanics of the game. Specifically the special effects on cards. For the life of me i can't find the file that they are in. If anyone knows where to start looking please let me know, I really want to be able to do this myself but am unable to even start trying to work out how it's coded as i can't even find the entries. Thanks in advance.
  6. I'm in the process of trying to learn this myself, haven't learnt too much so far but happy to pass on what I know. first off you'll need the official mod tools, continuing on with this i'll assume you have them. If not quick google and you will find them, read the documentation and if needed watch gophers video where he describes how to uncook the files and create a first mod. once you have the uncooked files you'll find the gwent card information in: (wherever you put the uncooked files)\uncooked\gameplay\items\def_gwint_cards_final.xml make a copy of this file and read through/ edit it with a text editor like notpad++ after this follow the steps in the documentation to pack the mod and add the metadata, no need to recook them as this is just editing an .xml file. once wcc_lite has spat out your mod file stick it in you game directory in the mods folder and see whether/ how your game has changed. good luck.
  7. Simply put i have been having issues with the nights sky and my skyrim modding. I have not been experiencing ctds all that is happening is that exterior lighting mods (specifically the ability to darken the night) seem to have no effect anymore. I felt like trying out ELFx and CoT as opposed to just RLO that i was using. i tested the changes to ambient light by going into a dungeon loading the mods and was nicely impressed all looked good more atmospheric... I only noticed an issue when i stepped back outside. It was night now and the nights where incredibly bright, vanilla bright. i thought little of it went back to NMM and reinstalled CoT lvl 8 to test how dark it could go. Nothing changed. Since then to try and troubleshoot the issue i have uninstalled everything (i mean everything), started a new game, and tried running each lighting mod in turn to see what the differences are: (first 2 images are for comparison, this is how my game lighting used to look) 1. in dungeon with RLO and minor imaginator tweaks http://static1.nexusmods.com/110/images/3435417-1378466175.jpg 2. night time with RLO and minor imaginator tweaks and lanterns of skyrim http://static1.nexusmods.com/110/images/3435417-1378466114.jpg And my game now: 1. Skyrim.esm, update.esm, dawnguard.esm (vanilla) http://static2.nexusmods.com/110/images/3435417-1378466238.jpg 2.vanilla + CoT lvl 8 darkness installed http://static1.nexusmods.com/110/images/3435417-1378466955.jpg 3. vanilla + RLO http://static2.nexusmods.com/110/images/3435417-1378466996.jpg Does anyone have any idea what I have gone and done here? could it be a driver issue as i hadn't played Skyrim in a while before trying these changes. Could there be an issue with the ini files? Im not a veteran mod user so i apologize for what may well be a noobish mistake, but I'm stuck. any and all help and advice is welcome. Thank you for your time and thank you in advance.
