  1. First thing I would check is to ensure you have the plugins.txt enabler loaded and running. Then check that in your documents that have the mods in the plugins.txt file. C:\Users\YOURPCUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Starfield\Plugins.txt is the default location but may vary depending on where you keep your documents. Also check that your Starfield ini didn't reset. I had to add the following to the ini to get mods working: Under the General section: [General] sPhotoModeFolder=Photos bEnableMessageOfTheDay = 0 And also in the Archive section: [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal=
  2. Anyone else having issues lately with around 25% of downloads failing with Vortex? I get timeout and connection errors but it's frequent: code: ETIMEDOUTaddress: 185.229.191.156port: 443 Error: connect ETIMEDOUT 185.229.191.156:443 at __node_internal_captureLargerStackTrace (node:internal/errors:490:5) at __node_internal_exceptionWithHostPort (node:internal/errors:668:12) at TCPConnectWrap.afterConnect [as oncomplete] (node:net:1494:16)Mon, 30 Oct 2023 00:33:55 GMT - warn: Download failed wrap=false, text=This may be a temporary issue, please try again later, message=Network connect was not permitted, please check your firewall settings, allowReport=falseMon, 30 Oct 2023 00:33:55 GMT - warn: failed to get mod info err=Error: connect ETIMEDOUT 185.229.191.156:443 Restarting all, signing out and back in to vortex. Server issues for nexus is maybe causing this and not necessarily vortex?
  3. It's with a sad heart that I found out that Matthew Perry has passed away. They are saying he had a long battle with substance abuse so I can understand this as alcohol in my life has been a constant demon. For anyone unaware, Matthew Perry was a big Fallout fan and voiced Benny in New Vegas. As he goes to the big vault in the sky, he gets to find out whether the game was truly rigged from the start.
  4. I have been decorating my ship via placing statics with the console but I noticed that many statics seem to not be tinted the same as the ship's interior. For example if i do the following in console: placethere 25613F This door spawns by default with an orange like paint texture but it doesn't inherit the blue-gray color of the hopetech interiors. Does anyone know a way to tint this? I see in console help there is a setbonetintregion command but not sure how that may interplay (or it may be totally unrelated too), nor if there is a "region" id for hopetech hab interiors.
  5. So after playing Starfield for some time I noticed in my ship there were these weird flickering objects that seem to fly around wildly, they looked like distorted objects and wildly stretched polygons that moved fast inside my ship. After spending a lot of time pausing the game with the console and clicking through other objects, it turns out that it was somehow Vasco's 3d model. I fixed it from ruining my captain quarter by disabling and then enabling Vasco's reference, then do a moveto player to bring him near you. You may have to enable him and moveto player a few times. Note I haven't found an issue yet with doing this to Vasco, but I'd rather have my ship not filled with weird floating polygons. I had this on a few saves and just figured it was some physics so it may help people trying to figure out why this weird 3d mesh distorted object is going crazy inside the ship. Edit: Example Image Imgur: The magic of the Internet Image is showing the weird flickering almost film like effect as it moves so fast.
  6. Does anyone know if there is an ini setting or console command to keep the weapons showing when out of a space suit? It shows briefly when the pack appears but afterwards vanishes.
  7. I have come across many empty ships that are also inaccessible. I just assumed they weren't meant to be looted but I question if it's a bug.
  8. There's definitely some odd behavior with images. I find that sometimes the planets load with this really low res texture when in orbit, other times it loads the high end one. No mods changing the planet textures, so I believe it's just sloppy engine behavior.
  9. Totally agree there's a lot missing. Maybe I am getting too old but the game feels like the target audience was way below my age. Generic good guy government faction, generic bad guy pirate faction, generic trade faction, generic independent faction. I won't get into how odd yet bland I feel about the main story arc. I am sure many will enjoy it but it's not my cup of tea despite trying to get into it. I'm someone that thinks the Fallout New Vegas setting, meaning its characters, storyline, setting, factions pretty much shows the gold standard in what I think a Creation Engine style game can be like. I felt Bethesda improved a bit with F4's story being a bit more complex even if it had issues and had high hopes we would get something akin to the Expanse but I was disappointed and feel like they regressed.
  10. Does anyone know of if there are any mods that give a chonmage hairstyle for dunmers? Effectively in the style of a shaved head but ponytail flipped akin to ancient Japan.
  11. Thanks for the help everyone! Turns out it started working again after Windows updates yesterday. I am assuming something broke and was fixed after some other change in the OS maybe they found a bug in regression testing.
  12. I'm just running tes3cmd clean --overwrite anyofmymods.esp, but even if I try a basic clean like .\tes3cmd.exe clean .\SecretsOfTheCrystalCity.esp it returns the same error.
  13. This is less a mod issue, and more a tool issue but seemed the most accurate forum to discuss in. I was just wondering if anyone uses tes3cmd as it was my bread and butter tool for morrowind modding. The tool when run gives an error of: "syntax error at C:/Strawberry/perl/vendor/lib/Archive/Zip/ZipFileMember.pm line 254, at EOF Missing right curly or square bracket at C:/Strawberry/perl/vendor/lib/Archive/Zip/ZipFileMember.pm line 254, at end of lineCompilation failed in require at C:/Strawberry/perl/vendor/lib/Archive/Zip.pm line 293.Compilation failed in require at -e line 165." Note I don't have a Strawberry perl install on my pc so I am assuming it uses some virtual/internal option to run this. Now probably my fault for expecting a legacy tool would run on Windows 11 (only thing I can think that really changed were some windows updates). However this occurs anytime I try to clean an esp with it so doesn't look to be isolated to a particular file. Just checking if anyone else had this issue, and figured out how to solve it. Thanks!
  14. You could try the following, most of this is just some things I tried myself when I had issues. Most are Skyrim se related but since Fallout 4 is basically the same shoudl be the same steps to try. Can you start up task manager and launch the game, check in the list if it even runs in the background and are hanging? You may see fallout 4 or f4se in the list in apps or processes. That may tell you if it launching but something is hanging it. If you go to start then run and type in %appdata% (this will take you to your user folder where applications store data) Look for the vortex folder, then look at vortex.log. At the end of that file it may show info on what is going wrong when launching to figure this out, I'm not sure if posting it may help or at least the last bunch of lines after you start the game but it hangs. If it doesn't show anything obvious: Simplest thing I would suggest is make sure you have the config set, start the fallout 4 launcher, go into options and just leave settings as they are and hit ok. Then exit the launcher, and try to relaunch the game. Try just reinstalling f4se on top of itself by redragging it on top of itself in the fallout 4 directory. If it still doesn't work, you can try to go to vortex and go to the plugins category then in the flags box choose incompatible. Check if any mods show as incompatible, one time it wasn't loading as I was trying to run like a Skyrim SE mod in normal Skyrim in error. Another time I had SE not launch and it was a corrupt creation club file, even a steam repair doesn't fix as it comes from bethesda that so I had remove it manually in the data folder and then go to the gui in game and re-download it. If that still doesn't help you can try a steam repair but you may lose any custom config settings. If you don't see anything there that is odd or flagged as incompatible, what you could try is clone your existing Skyrim SE profile (to back it up in case you need to revert) and enable the new profile you made. Then go to plugins and I would suggest the annoying pain of trying to disable one mod at a time and see if it loads, in case you mess up your mod or load order you have the old profile backed up. If there is still issues after that I am a bit stumped.
  15. A recent windows update appeared to break my vortex. Posting this here in case some others come across the issue. I ran this command from an elevated command prompt and it fixed it: dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:netfx3 /all I found the info in this ms article:https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/may-10-2022-kb5013943-os-build-22000-675-14aa767a-aa87-414e-8491-b6e845541755 Note I also ran a sfc /scannow which also found broken files but it did not fix my issue even after running a full DISM repair too and reboots.
