  1. Another thing MisterMaximvs...one of your mods is around 20kb and the others are all 10kb or less and appear to be simple value tweaks... The most difficult thing in these would be finding the proper records... Are you suggesting that people shouldn't endorse your mods either?
  2. A couple things... How would this result in the exact same rating? The number of people using the mod would almost be guaranteed to be different. Which would produce different results. Endorsements are a sum of folks who approve, not a rating. You're blasting a system you don't even understand. Very classy. We can actually test your above hypothesis because we -do- have a count of downloads on the Nexus page for each and every mod. Even unique downloads which factors out repeat downloads. Do me a favor and go compare a set of a few mods? Do they all have the exact number of downloads? No...they don't. Also, even if a mod did take twenty minutes, who cares? If someone likes it, the author should at least have that tiny bit of satisfaction, don't you think? Here's what I'd like to see, a count tallied from NMM of how many folks actually have the mod installed/enabled. That way it isn't subjective. Similar to a TV ratings systems.
  3. Look up some Nifskope tutorials. It shouldn't be too terribly difficult to mix and match parts of models as long as they're scaled the same.
  4. I highly doubt it. DirectX is a set of API's or (Application Programming Interfaces), meaning it contains calls that the game's code itself hooks into. Meaning, you would need to re-write the version of the engine FO4 is using in order to accomplish what you're after. In addition, source code is not available to us, nor could we legally obtain it in order to carry our such a re-write. Also, I highly doubt a 285 could run the game anyhow. It's far below the game's minimum requirements. FO4, is also 64-bit and takes advantage of much higher amounts of RAM than most games. Which means if the rest of your system is comparable to your GPU it wouldn't matter what version of DirectX you're running anyhow. You're just behind the times.
  5. You've done something pretty fantastic with the first iteration of this. I could probably write something in bash to do most of this, but can't say I know C#, otherwise I'd offer to help. Either way, this is a tool tons of folks will be using for a good while I'd bet.
  6. I ran FO4 briefly at 21:9, but I wasn't satisfied with the UI tweaks out there for it. Is that what you're having issues with? The UI becoming wonky?
  7. I run on a i5-4690k and a GTX 970...it's buttery smooth at 1080p. The only things I've toned down is Shadow Quality, and only to High from Ultra. (I think. Don't have it in front of me right now.) Contrary to what most folks will tell you an i5 is not usually a bottleneck these days. Make sure you set the iHWnumthreads value in your .ini file to 4. (This is in the Fallout ini Config tool.) How much RAM do you have? 8GB is required by Fallout 4, so if you only have 8, I'd consider upgrading to 16. (I run 16GB with a 4GB RAM disk for temporary files, so effectively 12GB.) And what motherboard are you running? Some motherboards have funky characteristics with the PCIe buses and other things. I'd also do some performance baselining with the System Monitor to see what's going on -BEFORE- you launch the game. Background processes can absolutely murder game performance. I'd recommend disabling anything that isn't either Microsoft branded or necessary for your system. There are plenty of guides online on how to do this. Are you running Windows 7? If so, I'd go ahead and upgrade to 10, it's actually far more lightweight and resource-friendly than 7.

  9. Why? .308 is a popular rifle caliber already and .50 caliber rifles do exist...whereas .32 is typically a pistol round. In most cases they actually got calibers right in this game. (With the exceptions of .50 caliber needing more damage and .45 rounds in the Combat Rifle....45 Rifle rounds are typically only found in lever action rifles.)
  10. Don't have time to look for it now (at work), but there is a Youtube video floating around on how to do this via the console. The changes will be confined to your save file only, but it'll let you change that NPC to suit you. I've done this myself with Curie and Piper, and it's caused no issues whatsoever.
  11. As far as I know, once you change their base in that save, it's changed. Reverting to an earlier save or starting a new game will take care of it.
  12. I wholeheartedly second this. The stick mag was standard for U.S. Army troops using the Thompson and it looks way better.
