  1. Necroing this as I stumbled across it by accident but know the answer - silent spells (i.e. "casting sound level" is set to silent) are not truly silent, just quieter. For truly silent spells you'll also need to create a perk that either links to the spell in question or to a FormID list that includes it and other spells you want to be silent (don't need to link each of the spell's magic effects - just the spell itself is fine). The perk should be set to Mod Spell Casting Sound Event (and if you're using a FormID list, setting conditions to require it being in said list), then set the Float value to 0.00 - that will make the spell truly silent.
  2. Better than nothing. Thanks for the info! I removed that save a long time ago, but now I have your fix linked to my profile for future use =)
  3. So I use SM Essential Player because while I play a very high difficulty mod setup I'm a pansy and one-shots upset me. I "died" from a fire mage while in vampire lord form, and afterwards was unable to enter water in human form. I would walk on the surface as if I was in vampire lord form. I assumed whatever ability grants vampire lords water walking was still enabled on my character, so I used the console to remove all active effects. When that didn't work I tried adding and removing the vampire lord attributes via console. I tried removing Dawnguard completely (yes I know this could severely damage my save - it was just for testing purposes) and that didn't work either. I found mention of this bug on the wiki (#16) but no solutions. TCL will enable me to enter water and initiates the swimming animations, but turning collision back on immediately moves me back on top of the water. Anyone else experienced this?
  4. This should not exist. This is not facebook. Why can we post nonsense "status updates"?
  5. Your problem is that one of your mods is script dragon and skse dependent, so you will receive an error upon launch due to script dragon being incompatible with the 1.6 update.
  6. My thread got hijacked! But seriously, Chuck I don't think anyone here was deliberately attacking you. I myself have used some of your resources and we all respect the work you've contributed to the community. Let bygones be bygones and all that. Fist bump!
  7. Then it's taken as a no. Unless there is a public statement from a modder saying that their content can be used if there is no reply after XX time, the answer is, and should always be presumed to be no. Alright. Was just fuzzy on whether it was considered "using their work" when the mod you submitted contained only personally-created stuff.
  8. I was wondering how strict the nexus is regarding the following idea. Preferably you'd ask for permission first, and wouldn't proceed if the answer is no. But what if you get no response at all? Idea - some of us suck at modelling, or scripting, etc. Say I created a script that I needed to reference an object to, and no in-game object fit what I was looking for; however, a mod on the nexus has just the item I want to reference. If my mod excluded all work by the other mod author, but referenced it and was required for my mod to function, would that be something I'd generally need permission for? Already asked for permission in this case, but it would be good to know for future reference.
  9. The lack of lich mods for Skyrim saddens me, and I wanted to create a lich mod based off of ThePostalDude's MOE lichcraft scripts. Is thepostaldude off the grid? I couldn't find anything of his that gave permission to edit and re-release his mods. There are a lot of things that aren't compatible with the new scripting engine, and simple syntax changes in the scripts won't work most of the time; however, a lot of the language is similar and I'm managing to at least create a rough copy for Skyrim (my scripting knowledge is limited, and a lot of what I've learned is from taking apart and tweaking other people's mods over the years). As far as I know I couldn't release this to the community though. Is anyone else working on a similar mod, or can anyone confirm whether ThePostalDude prohibits use of his work? I'll keep this for private use in the meantime, but I'm sure others in the community would like a lich mod as well. There are a few ideas I'd like to pull from Lichcraft 2 as well, though a lot of this seems impossible with papyrus. Specifically worship points I have no idea how to implement efficiently. I'm hoping someone with more experience with Skyrim modding will start work on something similar in the near future.
