  1. Probably the adaptation in the enb. You can try to turn that off and see what happens. I do have these flickering textures too. When i turn of the adaptation they are gone. But i want the feature enabled. To use it i have to hit esc. a few times (turning menu on and off). When the flickering stops i can play without any problems. I bet there are better solutions, but this is my workaround... fyi: i also have an ati graphics card...
  2. Lots of ENB profiles out there some very popular you can find them easily. I however use one of the less popular ENB profiles. I'm using it for a few months now and i think it is great: Quietcool ENB. I can really recommend it, just give it a try. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16998 Good luck!
  3. Interesting... I'm an archer and i'd love to have some more range too. I've tried skyre for a while and there i noticed the difference between longbows and shortbows. with my current character i don't use skyre, so all the perks and skills are just vanilla. Is there a difference in short/longbows in the vanilla skyrim? Ik know that there is a longbow available early in the game. Just a simple wooden bow with low damage. Don't tell me that is the bow i'm looking for :S ;)
  4. I can't help you, but that picture made me laugh :D
  5. I had the same problem yesterday. Had to force quit skyrim with the task manager. After restarting everything was fine and i could travel to skyrim again.
  6. I have like 80 mods installed a lot of them for better graphics. I play @ 60fps @ 2560x1440 everything on ultra. I don't like how eyefinity looks with skyrim. I've adjusted the field of view to 80 and that works nice. I also have a few skyrim ini tweaks like grass distance rendering and stuff like that. I have my ugridstoload @ 9 and everything seems stable now. IMO my skyrim looks amazing at the moment. I'm using quietcool ENB with a few personal tweaks. Out of the box it's a tad to saturated so i've reduced that. apart from that i think it's one of the best ENB's out there. Take a look. I have a few images uploaded there as well you can have a look at "my skyrim" :) To tweak your ENB setting you can just open the fx files in notepad. The specific DOF settings can be found in enbeffectprepass.fx Just try to comment out the smooth dof line Good luck!
  7. I'm using an ATI 6990 too and tried the following. You can try to set (in enbseries.ini) [DEPTHOFFIELD]FadeTime=0.0 But that will give you a very jumpy DOF effect. Like on and off and on and off. What i did to get some DOF working is comment out #define USE_SMOOTH_DOF in enbeffectprepass.fx. The fadeTime is @ 1.0 and that works for me.No smooth dof, but i can use the bokeh dof and additional blur. It looks great imo. Hope this helps... Good luck
  8. Hi, I just started a new character, i wanted to be an archer with conjuration, bla bla. The problem that i encountered early on is that when i went into bleak falls barrow to find the golden claw, my game freezes after killing the first 2 bandits and walking just a bit further. Always in the same spot. I've tried everything, but my game always freezes at that specific point. I've searched the forum and google and i'm not the only one. possibly something to do with version 1.8x. i dunno. Because i've already played that quest i just went to my console to finish the broken questline, so i can go on. Then i realised that the first shout is in there. I also have to add that shout through the console. Since this is one of the first quests i'm fine with that, it doesn't feel like cheating, but i'm wondering did i mess up my game already by doing this? It's a bit stupid because i think this first quest is kinda mandatory, getting the dragonstone and all. So to be able to continue i just entered the console commands to finish it. But now i'm wondering how this will affect the rest of my play-through with my new character :( any advice, ideas or tips? Thanks!
  9. Have you checked the size of your save game? Large save games will result in laggy gameplay. don't ask me why, but it could be the cause of your fps drops. My current savegame is 10mb and everything seems fine. i had an issue with savegame bloat once (up to 150mb) and the game became unplayable. You could try to start with a new character, see how that goes, i bet everything will be fine... Ofcourse that won't fix your other game :( Good luck.
