  1. Yesterday I had to format and recover my PC for reasons unrelated to Vortex. I did back up the Skyrim SE folder as well as the SSE folder under My Games (This is Windows 10); but I did not know I needed to backup anything else. Despite the presence of a bunch of folders with numbers for names that have "_file manage_by_vortex" Vortex doesn't think I have any mods installed, and it will not let me reinstall or install mods because it insists that I purge the mods from the "other instance" - there is no other instance, I had to reformat the drive. When it does this, it happily removes all of the plugins from my \Data folder, very pleased with itself. This of course means trying to play a previous savegame tells me all the mods are gone. I can restore the backup copy of the folder(s), which gives me my mods back, until the next time Vortex insists on purging, forcing mod install cancellation since the only other options besides "Purge" is "Cancel". Any ideas for getting Vortex to stop insisting that it purge my mods?
  2. I got the error after installing Geforce Experience 2.1.2 and I hadn't yet updated my driver from 340.52 to 344.11. (And after too...) So, it's GFE 2.1.2 that's the problem, NOT the 344.11 driver. I don't even know why I use GFE 2.1.2.... My GTX 570 doesn't support anything much for it past Game Optimization.
  3. Well... decreasing the body mesh size enough to eliminate clipping would still have the high probability of causing the outfit to become un-skin-tight (i.e. "puffy") in those areas... the same thing I'm trying to avoid by not increasing the outfit mesh volume. The thing I like about Bodyslide is I can have outfits where the shape of the body stays the SAME whether nude or clothed. I wish I had a nickel for all the outfits I've downloaded, tested, and rejected pre-OS because they changed the shape of the body. The point is to make the outfit the body, not make the body fit the outfit. Personal preference. I've been copying the bone weights from the reference shape -CT77's HDT body which I use as a baseshape, since trying to start a TBBP conversion from scratch with a OS-supplied reference shape crashes Skyrim when the outfit is tested. Every. Single. Time.
  4. So, I'm trying to convert a CBBE compatible outfit (Gatti's Yumiko outfit, number 14) to Bodyslide/TBBP, and it's worked well so far, except for that old nemesis, clipping on the breasts when they are bouncing. The problem I'm having is with the skin-tight mesh part of the outfit When she is standing still there is no clipping, but some poses (like crouching) cause highly visible flashes of clipping on the breasts - the outfit is moving, just not quite as much as the body itself is. I don't want to resort to increasing mesh volume, because with such a skin tight mesh, increasing it enough to eliminate the clipping makes it look puffy, unattractively so. Also, the only tool I use is Outfit Studio (I couldn't even begin to grasp blender's learning curve); plus some tweaking values in nifskope. The main issue is, how do you know which of the potentially three TBBP weights to tweak (X Breast, X Breast01 and Y Breast; where X and Y can be R or L depending on which side you're working on) to address clipping like this? Not to mention, do I add MORE or LESS TBBP weighting to that area? I've tried many combinations, tried one at a time, etc, and I usually end starting over in frustration cause I can't come up with something that doesn't involve increasing the mesh volume. Any ideas or insights?
  5. If I have made my own Bodyslide 2 conversions for a set of armor, could I upload a mod that only contains the meshes, slidersets, and shapedata I made/modified with Bodyslide and Outfit Studio, without needing permission? I made a set of Bodyslide conversions for http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52168 , and the author states in his description to "use the mod freely". My mod will only contain the Bodyslide slidersets and shapedata I created with Outfit Studio; do I need to get permission from that mod's author, or from R18Pn, the "original original" author? Thanks in advance!
  6. My save is just around 20000k, and I have more than a few mods - no problems so far. Lately I've been taking any items I find on the road, laying around in dungeons... like "discarded" weapons and armor from mobs, and stuff them into containers so that when it resets, they go poof. I had my own personal "Clean Up Skyrim" project, where I ran everywhere picking up weapons, armors, shields, etc that I'd find on the ground.
  7. Title pretty much says it all - tonight, I noticed that ALL my bows, even the ones I have on display in my house, have negative damage values. For example, my Auriel's bow shows -55 instead of the previous 918. I can't upgrade the bow any more, even with my crafting suit and potion, cause my skill can't make it go any higher. I tried removing the last two mods I added recently - Scaling Destruction and a boost destruction damage enchantment mod I made for myself, but no effect. Even with these mods running, I have a previous saved game from two days ago where the bows are still working. I use one Archery enchant that boosts it 58 percent, nothing crazy. My Archery is at 100, and is NOT legendary. Here's what else I've tried: 1. Making Archery Legendary. Didn't fix it. 2. Tried doing player.modav marksman -1 followed by 1. 3. Unequipall caused my Auriel's bow to go into -390 to -400 range - can't tell for sure since the Damage field doesn't expect a negative three digit number. 4. resetinventory didn't fix it. 5. "resurrect 1" seemed to work - it got the damage value to be positive again, but in the 260 range, and when I did f5 then f9 (quicksave then quickload); the damages were negative again. Anyone run across this? I don't have any mods that modify archery.
  8. Well, when you make a skill Legendary, it gives you back all the perk points.... ....but since your skill is only 15, it won't let you (re)spend them on perks that require 20 skill, for example. Quite baffling. I also get hit with five diseases (Ataxia, 2x Bone Break Fever and 2x Brain Rot) whenever I load a game. I'm also using RN@D, along with Frostfall. Gonna try some more things.... not gonna revert just yet. EDIT: So, I went back to the first savegame I have, when my character was level 10. RN+D and Frostfall were both disabled, of course, but I still was given two diseases. I went back to my current save and unequipped everything, including my carry weight bags from AOM. Quicksaved, and reloaded, and was only given two diseases, both rattles. Still reinfected whenever I reload, though. With this, and the head-scratching "Feature" of having to reearn all my perks by making a skill Legendary, I think I will revert, for now. One more thing.... you don't HAVE to make a skill Legendary. It's not automatic or anything... You're just prompted to hit Space if you wish to make a particular skill in the Skills screen Legendary. I'm failing to see any point to Legendary status in a skill, except for the point of getting a higher level cap. I'm at 81 and basically walked through Dragonborn since nothing much could actually hurt me. It doesn't make any sense for my character to be "Legendary" in Destruction magic, but not able to even dual cast any more.
  9. So, I'm playing Skyrim for the first time in a few days, and during that time, I didn't update any mods, nor did Skyrim patch. I'm still running the latest version. Tonight, I go to sneak up to some bandits to work on pickpocketing... and even with a maxed Sneak skill, several items enchanted to fortify sneak.... the mobs are seeing me as soon as they look at me. I used to be able to sneak in the open under full sunlight and they'd never see me, but now, suddenly, if a mob has me in line of sight, they see me, pretty much no matter what. I even loaded a way older save (but still with 97 sneak and some sneak boosting items), and they see me there, too. Any idea what happened?
  10. So, I'm doing Diplomatic Immunity last night (first run through), and of course, that's a stealth mission for about five whole seconds (tank-mages sneak... poorly). I make it out to the back courtyard, under attack from all those casters. I'd only brought a few weapons, and none of my heavy armor (thought the "stealth" portion of the mission would have lasted longer), and very few potions. Even with the Elven armor I was wearing (pinched from dead Thalmor) it wasn't looking good.... when I hear a familiar cracking sound, and hear a familiar voice: "I'll kill you if I have to!" ZAP! FWOOSH! "Aaugh!" <--- bad guy Lydia to the rescue! She hadn't appeared from when I took the door to the outside.... she must have run directly from where I left her when I left for the party. Somehow, she got bored waiting for me to get back from the party at the embassy and decided for a more proactive form of diplomacy. Ya see, my Lydia (aka "Lyds/Lids") really, really likes the staves of lightning bolts, flames, ice storm, and sparks I gave her... and when she wields two of them at once.... she hurts things. She's wearing Dynasty armor and a colormatched Glass helmet, so she pretty much carves a swath of death when she's pissed off. My first true WTF moment was when I cast magelight.... which came in contact with a dragon corpse.
  11. I noticed, after playing for a while, a massive slowdown that would take place upon zoning. A quicksave (which wasn't quick - the whole game was slowed down), exit and restart, and it was fine again. This happens usually after I get back from a dungeon or something and have been busy doing a lot of back and forth, smithing, enchanting, selling, alchemy, etc etc... basically using and viewing a lot of items, so I think it may be some sort of memory leak. I'm using a GTX570 SC with 1.2gb, 6 GB of system RAM on my Core i7 920. Oh, side note... I got rid of a few "hitches" that I've noticed since the HD pack (zoning into Honeyside, for one) by turning off AA in the main options menu, but leaving FXAA on. Still looks great; I wonder why Geforce.com didn't recommend turning off AA in the main Skyrim Options window...
  12. Weird.... I don't have a data\skyrim.ini file. The only one is in my games\skyrim. Windows 7, FWIW. Im running windows 7 and I have one. No doubt. Anyway, I made the changes in the skyrim.ini, and it seems to be working - hi-res textures and the few texture mods I have installed. The game looks subtly sharper... I'd say it was my imagination, if those blue mental bowls and cups in my Whiterun house didn't look better than before. But I was running on the Geforce.com recommended settings for my GTX570.

  14. I'm still waiting on the download. Is there an option in the Data files box to turn off the HD texture pack until the mods I use are updated?
  15. I had to delete/reinstall some mods tonight, and to make a long story short, the "Load loose files" option in the launcher is not there at all. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Skyrim, and it's still not there. This means my CBBE Dynasty armor set doesn't show up (leaving nothing but a floating head), and my Noctural robes for CBBE show a texture void on my characters hips. Yes, I reinstalled the mods afterwards, and I also cleared out the remnant Data folder between uninstall and reinstall. Any idea how I fix this, and what might have happened? I wasn't doing anything outside of copying to and from the textures and meshes folders in the Data folder. EDIT: Whoops, never mind... the issue was me being an idiot when reinstalling the Dynasty armor mod - I only reinstalled the update, not the full version, then the update. :) Sorry my first post was me making a dumb mistake. :D
