So it sounds like your spell toggles on/off a script which auto-renews a fire and forget version of detect life? That's a good solution... Have you created your own detect life spell, or are you just using Bethesda's version? Whenever I try to create my own (to tweak some spell effects) I lose the "ignore's area LOS" effect, despite having it checked on in the spell settings -- have you run in to this issue?
