  1. Yes, I have encountered the same problem. Havent found a solution for it yet :wallbash: Anyways, its not that big of a deal, it just takes an extra second to make the animal follow you :)
  2. hmmm, i cannot spot any errors in the script. Here is the exact copy of what i use: ___________________________________________________________________ ;BEGIN FRAGMENT CODE - Do not edit anything between this and the end comment ;NEXT FRAGMENT INDEX 1 Scriptname Aquadismiss Extends TopicInfo Hidden ;BEGIN FRAGMENT Fragment_0 Function Fragment_0(ObjectReference akSpeakerRef) Actor akSpeaker = akspeakerRef as Actor ;BEGIN CODE (pdialoguefollower as dialoguefollowerscript).dismissanimal() ;END CODE EndFunction ;END FRAGMENT ;END FRAGMENT CODE - Do not edit anything between this and the begin comment Quest Property pDialogueFollower Auto ____________________________________________________________________ Did you do excactly as the tutorial told you to do? Are you sure the name "I5Kpetdismiss" agrees with the script name?
  3. Gonna try it one more time. I have tried a lot to fix the skin tint stuff, but I still have the same problem. Anybody here with knowledge about this? It applies to most larger animal species i try to edit. o_O
  4. There you go! Follow this tutorial 100%, and it will work
  5. What i have done: I exported an edited cow model from 3dsmax, and made custom textures. I created a duplicate of the vanilla cows nakedskin, skin, race and actor. I also made a new textureset with my custom diffuse and normal map. Now. When i open the actor and click preview, following message occur: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/imageshare/images/4159370-1339094967.jpg I click "yes", and my new cow shows nicely up with textures. There are no problems in the preview window. Also animations works well. However, if i try to put the actor out in the world, the ck crashes to desktop.. So i am very new with modding, and i have no idea what to think about this Anybody who can help? Oh, and i got a second error when i save.. "abstractheap.cpp Line 444 Broken links"
  6. Hmm, well, the method from the tutorial works for me everytime, i have also used it on a wolf. Unfortunately its hard to say whats wrong without knowing what you have done :) I know how your feeling wasting hours trying to figure out a simple thing in ck. I have done that a lot!
  7. Hi. First of all, have you tried to press "E" repeteadely 2 - 4 times? It might be necessary. Second you need to be sure that you did everything excactly the same as the tutorial. Duplicate skin, aa, race (remember to check "allow player dialogue" and to uncheck "cant open door) and create new actor. Everything has to be new, and linked! Make sure that you wrote the scripts correctly, and that you put the right attributes into the dialoguefollowers window (ex, getisrace, getinfaction, getactorvalue). Also check that the voice you are using in your dialogue, matches the cr voice you have on the actor. For crwolf, you need to use wolf npc sounds. Check if the actor is set up with the correct dialoguescript, the right factions, and the correct relationship. My big point here is that the tutorial works if you follow it excactly to the point! I had a couple of tries on getting this to work in the beginning, and everytime it did not work, i had missed a small detail. Hope it helps, if you have any more questions about this, please ask!
  8. Hey guys! I have been struggling all day with this problem, and i have gotten really frustrated by it! I have been reading tutorials and forumposts, but cant get it to work.. I really would like to use 3ds max instead of learning a new program (blender). I am trying to make a modified chicken mesh for my mod... I have managed to make animationless chicken, because i did not have any bones included in the .nif. This is the only time i have seen my new birds ingame. All the other times.. Crash! I have been looking through many tutorials without finding answers.. So i am hoping for some help here. Its not easy to be new to skyrim modding! So, i extract the character assets chicken.nif, and skeleton.nif (from chickenfolder). And go to import. And here i get the first issue. In all the tutorials they import the skeleton.nif together with the model. Now, in my 3ds max this option is unavailable :S I am not able to give the path to the skeleton.nif.... I have no idea how to fix this. My niftools is set up with skyrim/data as main folder, and nif's are extraced to their proper folders. Because of this i end up importing the skeleton.nif, after i have imported the main model. I add a skin modifier, with all the bones, then export. Export goes okey, the model shows up nicely in niftools. I save it as a NIF fade node. Open up creationkit, open the actor with the skin/nakedskin/model linked, i click preview, and BAM... Instant crash i honestly dont know how to fix this All help will be greately appreciated!! :P
  9. So, i was looking through the properties of skyrim in steam, and i clicked on the language bar and changed to spanish to see what would happen, It immediately started downloading the spanish version (without asking for confirmation), so i put it back on english without downloading spanish, Now i have to wait half an hour for steam to download the english version wich already is installed on my computer,,, So, while i am waiting. Does anybody know if its possible to quickly change between two languages? Spanish is my second foreign language, thats why i am asking. It would be a fun way to improve my skills, although it kinda breaks immersion having spanish speaking nords! :P My guess is of course no, as i see steam now downloading the english pack, even though i did not install the spanish one...
  10. Acer aspire 5943G 100+ hours - no crashes ^^ Kinda amazed by this laptop! I have HD replaced almost every single texture down to wine bottles and paper scrolls, running on high, and still the laptop manage to run it well :P I have been careful with other mods though, I only have some basic animal/monster/buildings mods, and I always investigate if anyone has found any conflicts before i install. I guess that would be the reason for many peoples crashes? I also install mods manually if possible. Easier to control what is overwritten. I got skyrim in march though, so i guess i got it after many bugs were sorted out, The acer was defineately worth the buy!
