  1. I recently worked on porting a mod with a few custom dialogues from Skyrim (Not special edition) to Enderal. After resolving a bunch of conflicts, I found that all the script fragments are not working properly, so I recompiled them. After that, my entire dialog tree went haywire. Let's say the tree looks like this: A--D | B | C with A being the top-level and B and D being children. One issue I had was B suddenly becoming top-level for no reason. I got around this by changing C's conditions in some meaningless manner Another problem I started having is that when a fresh save is loaded, none of the dialogs would show despite the quest is already running (I checked with print statements). The only way I could get around this is by save and reloading. I don't remember seeing this glitch before, although I now see there were threads from 7 years ago about some dialog bug. I wonder if ti's the same issue. In any case, are there modern methods to fix tese glitches?
  2. As a minor modder, I'd say the paid opportunity was tempting, but the cut is too low for my liking. Had it been 70%, I'd be game. However, I disagree with the notion that there is no reward from modding. It helped me to get a job when I had zero work experience. In addition, I treat my contributoin as part of an honour system. Just as others can benefit from my mods for free, I also get to use ther people's work for free. I enjoy loading my TES games with 100+ of mods and so do most of you. As for those who lamented the loss of this ridiculous proposition from Valve, I don't pity them. 25% is too low and too exploitative. Had it been 70% and no $100 profit threshold, I can understand the temptation. But no, they wanted a shitty deal for themselves which is a move I consider to be incredibly stupid. Like others have said, the Skyrim community will recover. The people lost would've been unlikely to continue for much longer anyway given their pre-existing discontent with the lack of monetization.
  3. @Dark0ne I can't help but feel you were saying nice things to help them off the stage given they have now lost. No, it doesn't make me feel bad for Bestheda at all reading what they say. The 45% cut made their intentions all too clear. For what they did no work on, they wanted by far the largest cut. This is rampant greed. If they truly care about modders, then they would not have demanded such a large cut for themselves and leave so little to the ones who actually did the work. @Nightasy I understand you want to be compensated but do understand that you are not in any way being cheated by the community. Just as you've contributed your hard work to Nexus, you also are entitled to the work of others from Nexus. Had everyone monetized their own mods, you'd find your gaming experience in TES titles to be much degraded. Imagine playing without SkyUI, OOO, Midas Magic, etc, etc, etc because they all cost $5+ each. In addition, I'd also want to say that modding is not a good means of earning money. Even with the Valve-Bestheda system, I cannot envision most modders to make anything. Not only will there be free mods competing with your work, the difference between one dollar and no cost is huge when it comes to incentives to download. Not to mention, the 25% cut is just too low. As a modder myself, I refuse to participate in such an exploitative system. Personally, the rewards of my modding endeavors take the form of a portfolio. It helped me to get a job in IBM 3 years ago and that's more than anything I'd have asked for in return for my efforts.
  4. Thanks for the response. No, I am using EW, do that hash check workaround does not apply. Mod list would be simply the 4 mods in the link provided in the original post. Install location is in G:\, which is an external hard drive, not in program files folder. Game version is latest.
  5. Very hard, because the resources just aren't there for the body. The 3D models are just literally two arms sticking out of a suit of armour. if someone's to do this mod, he'll have to make the body mesh from scratch and will also have to worry about: 1. Animations 2. Skin colour of the body to match the skin colour of the body 3. Skeleton
  6. By the way, is UKP Patcher now broken? I've had trouble getting it to XSHAPE. See this post.
  7. I downloaded UPK Utils today to install to install a free camera mod. So I tried the following steps: 1. Unzip the GUI Patcher tool and run the program 2. Set the location of my XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW folder 3. Set the location of the mod's text file 4. Click "Apply" -> Patch ran successfully 5. Click "XSHAPE" and got the following output: ---------------------------------------------------- Executing external XSHAPE program: java -jar "C:\Users\User\Desktop\Games\XCOM\Patcher\Binaries\XSHAPE.jar" -v 0 XCOM SHA Patcher for Executable (XSHAPE) v0.13b xcomgame.upk xcomstrategygame.upk ERROR(13) USAGE: java -jar XSHAPE.jar -<verbose> <starting byte> More information: http://code.google.com/p/xshape ---------------------------------------------------- Then I tried running the game and now it wouldn't run. Any help would be nice.
  8. Hi folks, I am working on a trap mod and made 2 updates already. Unfortunately, it only got 50 unique downloads or so out of 2000 views (< 3%) and 2 endorsements out of 50 (< 5%). I wonder what I am doing wrong. I suppose what I did is pretty mediocre in comparison to what the big modders here are doing, but even mods that are (supposedly) far more bare are getting more attention. So, I'd assume there are some flaws associated with the direction I am going. Some feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. Link: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13303
