  1. Hey guys and gals, For a while I've been trying to get the hang of the creation kit. I've built about a dozen player homes and honestly I take pride in it because it's about as fun as playing the actual game. However, I got an idea for a new home I want to create but I'm not quite sure how to go about it. Basically, my idea is to put a Load door into Tamriel somewhere and have it linked to a cell separate from Skryim (as an interior is) but have all the outdoor aspects (sky, actual land, etc.) I only have experience with creating interiors and homes outside and I don't want to go rearranging the actual landscape because things tend to get messy. I want to have a pretty small valley surrounded by mountains that act as walls, with the load door being the only exit and tie to the main world. However, map-wise, I want it to appear to still be in the same location (I don't want it to seem like that cave entrance just teleported me to another world). Is it possible to simply copy an existing cell and begin construction as if it were an Interior? How do I go about setting up the new cell to appear in the same location that the cave entrance was? Thanks for your help!
  2. :) thanks for replying. I used FRAPS and got nearly the same numbers (the ENB itself drops me 8-10 FPS)
  3. Hi, I recently got a friend of mine to help me purchase a computer. I trusted his word because frankly I didn't know what to get at all. Ended up buying a new PC at Bestbuy and sticking a new graphics card and power supply in it. Anyway, long story short, here are my specs. (Please don't flame me about whether or not I got screwed.) AMD FX 6100 6-core Processor 10 GB Ram 64 Bit Windows Nvidia GeForce 560 Ti (1GB) (If you need any more Info let me know, its http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03154290 this computer with the added graphics card.) I assumed this would be a fine setup, my friend told me it was more powerful than his and he runs his game on ultra. Given I have some mods running.. but not that many (in comparison with how many I've seen others have running) however, I disabled all mods, ran an ENB (nothing but DOF) and used the ENB's FPS counter to check my FPS. It never got above 45. and even so, dwindled down to 30-ish often. This is with less than ultra settings. My question is, Is my setup simply not powerful enough to run this game on the higher settings? If it isn't, what could be my bottleneck, or is it simply some tweaks that would give me what I need? If there's something more I need to achieve a system that can handle this game with better FPS I'd love your input because I have this summer to make money and see about getting the parts I need. Thanks for the help! (edit: The more I play, I see that my FPS does hit the mid 50's in areas, but no matter where I am there are these "ticks" where the FPS hits even below 10 for a second or two.)
  4. Just starting, the very first dragon encounter. If creating a new character will resolve this, no problem. But I dont understand why my game would be messed up, I just got it and installed it from a new disk yesterday. If that command just furthers me in the Main Quest, all dragons still don't give any souls.... :/
  5. Ok, I validated the cache, and disabled all the mods through the NMM. Reloaded an earlier save and killed the dragon, STILL no soul.
  6. The first thing to do in this situation is make sure that it's a mod causing the issue. Disable all of your mods and load up the game again. If the problem continues, then you know that the mods aren't the problem and that it's a game issue and not a mod issue. In that case, in your steam game section right click on Skyrim and click properties. From there click on the local files tab and then verify integrity of game caches. This will make sure that your game is fully downloaded and up to date and will alert you if there's a part of the game that got corrupted or just isn't there. Hopefully however when you disable all of your mods and start back up your game it starts to work which means it's a mod issue. These are a lot easier to deal with. Just enable all of your mods except one and load the game and keep repeating with each mod until the problem starts up again and then you know the corrupt mod. Delete it and either try re downloading it or just keep it deleted, either way you found the problem! :D Thank you so much for the help! :D
  7. Like the title and description says, I have a number of mods installed, but all are strictly visual mods with the exception of a couple smithing mods. (2k textures, hair, no more blocky faces, W.A.T.E.R., etc.) I'm new to all of this, Just recently got a PC and I havn't installed any of these mods myself, but used the Nexus Mod Manager to enable/disable mods. Does anyone else have this problem or know what I can do? I just made a new character and fought the first dragon, and even after reloading the game entirely the dragon never gives a soul. (which stops the quest from continuing.) I also noticed when going through Draugrs, the coffins no longer pop open. What have I done to my game? :O lol
