  1. Now that is over complicating it, but it would be fun. Well, the hardest part is getting the pregnancy right. The follower part might possibly be easier as many other modders have done thing with it. Undoubtedly, the easiest part is the skill increases and so on. (Teaching could probably be implemented by testing to see if the child and the PC are in the same cell.) Meh, either way, still hard for someone who hasn't managed to learn Papyrus yet. I wish I could use C. =(
  2. Depending on how one would go about it, it would be quite complex. What if you have too many children? Do they all get wiped out or something due to insufficient food? Ignoring the realism, there would also be a possibility of too many NPCs and so on. Still, it would be pretty interesting. Even more so if you combine the follower system with a pregnancy system, then you could "teach" a child skills by doing them yourself, and the child would "gain" skills by being near you. If a modder was hardcore enough, could put a few more variables and make it like Pokemon. Hahaha. Breed the perfect child genius! Hm, I'm kinda objectifying children here... not good.
  3. Title pretty much says it all. I'm planning an overhaul of the Thieves' Guild and it would be nice if I could get some voice actors. Even better if the load could be divided between a group of modders. This is a purely volunteer project, however, participation WILL require some dedication. Voice actors should preferably have decent recording equipment and so on. PM me for more information, even if you're just slightly interested. =)
  4. I have done the quest-lines for most of the guilds in both of the games and I totally agree. What I was referring to before, was more of the style of game-play (mostly) unique to Bethesda's games. As for the quest-lines; they are mighty short. I did the Thieves' Guild line and not only was it ridiculously easy and short, I interacted with what, like 3 or 4 NPCs in the guild. I kept going on, hoping I would get to do a quest with the other people in the guild, but... =( I'm considering making a mod to extend the quest line.
  5. Haha, the classic mudcrab talk. You know, it is somewhat realistic, in the sense that they can kill you in a few hits if you level up as far as high as you can, then put difficulty to max. I love how insanely impossible Oblivion is if you just level up continually + higher difficulty. Well, not love, but it's kinda funny, until you get killed by an imp. Then you restart and go back to normal diff.
  6. Could see if SKSE has a function for that. It seems like you would have to change the room settings, which seem pretty permanent (from the player's point of view).
  7. I don't think they'd wait to release it with other DLCs for the PC or not release it at all. If they release each DLC separately, then the overall play time and therefore addiction would increase, I think anyways... but it would keep the hype about Skyrim up, instead of being dead for a few months, then suddenly releasing a pack of DLCs.
  8. Ah, yeah, there's always that. Hopefully they add new stuff, not change half the game. Then it should be alright. Optimism ftw! We can always fall back to gloating at console players because we have mods and they don't.
  9. If it's like that, might as well have a simple bank system. I was thinking more of how they'd fine you or chase you if you didn't pay. Maybe if you have no money in the chest/bank, a tax collector would try to personally get it from you (not with a sword), and after that, the guards come? Maybe your house resets?
  10. What body mod, or nude mod (as all the popular ones seem to be such), is most used by other modders for clothing, armour mods and the like?
  11. It would probably be best to have a trapdoor before the water feature, which leads to another cell containing just a tunnel or something. As far as I know, (and this is speaking mostly from my experience with Oblivion's CS) the water level is absolute. Just thought of an idea; perhaps you could make a water filled tunnel, and then have the air pockets above the water plane, the tunnel extending above the water plane is outside the normal cave path or whatever. It would appear as though there are water pockets inside the water tunnel, yet under the main water feature? Just gently slope downwards and it won't be as noticeable. Okay, I'm horrible at explanations. Sorry. =(
  12. You've probably seen this, as they are on the list of top mods. However, in case you haven't, I'll just put the links here. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10168 http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3809
  13. Well really after you get good armour and a weapon, there really isn't much to spend on apart from maybe a few more houses or so. If someone implemented taxes though, that would be an interesting mod. It wouldn't be that difficult to decrease gold in inventory every, let's say, month. If they don't have enough gold, then send some pissed off NPCs after them. Of course, that's not really helping immersion. The difficult part would be adding a reasonable system to pay taxes. Well, difficult relative to me, as I can't imagine doing that. Still trying to get my head around placing objects, seems a bit wee difficult compared to Oblivion's CS. (I'm pretty noob.)
  14. I agree. The Elder Scrolls series is definitely better because of mods. As for console commands, I don't think I could live without them. I use them mostly to test my mods. As for cheats, any fan of TES wouldn't even bother looking at god-items and so on. Unless they are that type of player, in which case; they're entitled to do so. It's not a multiplayer game, so each to his own.
  15. Regarding the post somewhere before about a Rincewind-like character; I agree that you really have to roleplay to get the most out of it. I also don't recommend the heavy warrior stereotype, (they seem to be too easy after a while). I love playing stealthily, and that's the way I've played so far.I have to sneak, shoot an arrow, run away if it's a boss. My heart jumps when the boss gets closer and closer, silently praying that he/she/it will turn the other way before they reach my shadowy corner. It is actually extremely immersive in that manner. As a result, I can barely tank a few hits from a bandit. I wouldn't say it requires strategy, but it does require some patience, a few casts of detect life and so on. If I were in Skyrim, I wouldn't go up to a bandit and shoot an arrow at point-blank. So I guess, (repeating again), just play as what you would really like to be. As for text-based games, they are much, much better in terms of content, because all it takes to create a new room, a new quest, or item is lots of imagination, a little sprinkle of programming and good grammar. Speaking of which, the Discworld MUD is quite good. Discworld! Now in a online multiplayer game. Although I recently stopped playing because it was too addictive and time-consuming. Most likely people who are bookworms like me will like it. Others who are used to graphics and all won't have the patience.
