  1. TYVM for the quick answers. She's getting a PS 4 soon, but was hoping she could run it on her laptop for access to more and better mods. Much appreciated!
  2. My processor is even worse than hers. I run it just fine. so how does this affect the direct x 11?
  3. My friend doesn't really like joining forums just to ask oe thing, and asked for my help. Here's the deal. She has a legit Steam copy, and NukaWorld. Both had worked great (as great as any Bethesda game goes, lol) on her previous windows 10 machine. she hated windows 10, and sold off that machine and got a laptop with Windows 7 installed. It runs Skyrim and Fallout 3 and some newer games fine, but absolutely refuses to run on the new computer. She told me she gets a message about Direct X 11 not being up to date but when she tries to update it, the update does not appear to work properly. It doesn't throw up errors, it just acts like it installed fine, but Fallout 4 still gripes that she doesn't have Directx 11. Reinstalling, running as admin, blah di blah don't work. Here's the Dxdiag. i realize it might be "Her computer can't run it' but many times 'Can You run it?" tells me I can't run a game, but it's usually just a matter of having to run a game on potato setting. She's fine with that; she just wants to be able to play at at least 15-20 fps, and isn't worried about how pretty it is. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 6/7/2017, 08:27:05 Machine name: NEW Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100226-1909) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. 4. Probably. I won't name names, because we all know who the gougers were last time, and will probably be doing it again. We also know who are our forever Free people, and hopefully, they'll stick with us. Seriously Bethesda, just sell TES and Fallout to Obsidian or CDProjecktRed before you destroy both franchises and yourselves in the process. I know, it sounds like hyperbole. But EA destroyed Ultima and Ubisoft destroyed Might and Magic. I'm exaggerating out of worry. People can say "Oh they won't destroy their two biggest cash cows!" but how many times have we seen movie studios and other companies shoot themselves in the foot? Sneaking paid mods around to the back door isn't going to fool anyone.
  5. Thanks, everyone. None of it worked--and unfortunately, the previous saves on this character still had the same issue--but I really do appreciate it. It only affected one character. Everyone else is suddenly fine.
  6. I've searched and searched, but to no avail. I seem to be the only person ever with this issue. I installed a couple of mods: a mod that lets you romance Nick Valentine and a mod attempting to make him look like a Gen 3 synth (that one didn't work, but it isn't what I'm posting about) and Croup Manor Restored, and a mod to let Nick wear any clothing. The radio seemed to work fine until I installed the Nick Gen 3 mod. the mod didn't work, so I uninstalled. this is when ALL my radio stations died. I have tried the following fixes that I did find, all of which are only pertinent to DCR, not the other stations (Silver Shroud, Classical): Wait 24 hours. Turn Travis' radio in his trailer on/off. Reinstalling the game. Starting a new game. Fast traveling. None of these have worked. If by some chance I need to provide a DIAXDIAG or whatever tf it's called, just let me know. It's an oddly singular issue, and while my laptop isn't really optimal for F4, it's never had any real issues running it and looking good doing so. Thanks in advance!

  8. In response to post #25913707. My NMM has been weird, too! Mods are there and active, then suddenly not. So maybe there is a connection.
  9. In response to post #25770299. #25770489 is also a reply to the same post. That is brilliant :D

I'm with you. Mind, I have strong hopes, seeing as it *is* on the official sit, and not Joe McRandom's Trolling site. I do recall, though--I think it was E-3 or Quakecon 2010, Bethesda went on about having 'an exciting announcement that was going to make a lot of people very happy.' My friend and I assumed it was Skyrim, and so did many other people... ...instead it was some fps that no one gave two craps about. To this day, I can't tell if they knew damn well how that was going to sound and did it anyway, or if Todd Howard really thought people were going to be that thrilled with Hunted (or maybe it was Rage, or Wet. I forget now).
  11. Thank you for the quick reply! so you're saying that I should be fine with most, but after that it just comes down to a matter of taste?
  12. so, after four years of slogging along playing skyrim on machines ranging from brick to glorfied calculator, I can finally afford a half-decent gaming machine. I know these specs aren't ideal--I plan to change that videocard asap--but still Here's the specs: Intel i7 quad Core 2.93 GHz 8 Gigabyte DDR3 memory ZOTAC GeForce GTX560 1GB 256-BIT DDR5 HDMI Dual DV videocard I can't tell you specifically how it's doing right now, since it's still on the way. I like to plan ahead :D so, here's the thing. I'm not too clued in on ENBs, other than they look pretty and can really slow your game down. What I'm looking for is somethin neither to disney/anime looking, nor too grimdark and gritty. I like color within realistic boundaries, realistic looking lighting and shadows etc. I want something that will make things 'pop' and look real, but I don't care much for DoF stuff. In fact, an ENB without DoF or where it can be disabled is ideal. Mostly, I'm into playing the game. I just want it to look really boss while I'm playing. So I'm not especially into ENBs that are for screenshots only or super-cinematic. If you need to ask me questions to get a better idea, go for it!
  13. I use Westly's Playable Dremora with the Gatanas Companion by Princess stomper. My Dremora was headed off to do the "kill the rats" quest for the Fighter's Guild, and I told Gatanas tpo stay out of combat, as I didn't want his AoE spell to accidentally kill the old lady. fine and well, except now he won't fight at all, won't use spells, nothing. I tried asking him to use melee, tried asking him not to fight again thinking that might turn it back on, tried restarting the game, nothing changes. He just won't fight now. I reeeeeeally don't want want to have to start my character over and pick him up again. Is there a console command I can use to get him fighting again as he should? Thanks.
  14. There used to bean awesome mod that made for great looking female orcs. But the modder either threw a fit and took his/her toys and went home, or got banned, or something because the mod is no longer here :( Sorry I can't help.
