  1. I've already figured it involves making a quest and a script for it. I'm just not sure about the details. But I might just try the construction set site. I didn't think to at first because every single tutorial or bit of information I tried to find there usually leads me to a 404. But maybe the site will be more cooperative if I nag the people on it.

  3. I was planning on making a race/birthsigns overhaul mod, and I would like to include a feature that causes health to not involve one-tenth of your endurance. Rather, I was hoping to change it so that your health increases by 10 points every level with no regard to what your endurance is. Is there a way to accomplish this at all? If so, how?
  4. Whenever I am asked, "What's on your mind?" and it is posted to my wall, I will always think of the second and third songs on the Leftoverture album.
  5. I had suspected we were having two different conversations. But my issue was that that dummy hotkey appears there and stays there. Unlike the Unofficial Oblivion and Shivering Isle patch items, a new one appears when you drop it. (The same thing happens with the items COBL adds.) Because I don't use torches or hotkeys, this hotkey torch dummy item is nothing but inventory clutter, and one that constantly respawns! And I never mentioned the book or key before because I JUST started using COBL, so I wasn't familiar with the book and key menu items that it uses. But what I'm saying is that they reappear in my inventory after I drop them, just like the hotkey "torch". (But unlike the hotkey torch, at least they have a use.) But enough of this. I found a solution. The following is for anyone wanting to remove that accursed item who has been having trouble doing so. In order to remove the hotkey "torch" item that constantly respawns, install the Cobl Main.esm and the OOO 1.32-Cobl.esp. (You don't need to bother with the meshes or textures or anything if you don't intend to use Cobl for anything other than this.) Be sure that the OOO 1.32-Cobl.esp loads after the OOO.esp. Start the game and click on the key item labeled +[Options] that Cobl adds. That will bring you to another menu. Look for "Oscuro's Overhaul" and click on that. That will bring up a menu which will include "Torch Hotkey". (You can also use this menu to disable those irritating container animations through the "Harvest Containers" option.) Click on that and the cursed item will go away forever, never to return (unless you start a new game that is). Sometimes there is no "Oscuro's Overhaul" option, and instead you get "OOO Harvest Containers" and "OOO Torch Hotkey" on the main menu. I am not sure why Cobl does this, but it makes no difference. (Just click on the desired thing and fool around with it.) If you want to get rid of those menu items that Cobl gives you, save the game, exit, and deactivate Cobl. I would still recommend keeping Cobl around afterward, in case you decide to begin a new OOO game.
  6. That "torch" item appears in my inventory right at the start of the game even with the drop lit torch remover installed and loaded after OOO, and then another one reappears after I drop it. And then another one appears after I drop that one, etc. I end up having this huge pile of torches in my prison cell at the beginning! And as for COBL, you mean you are able to drop the COBL book and key items and they do not reappear in your inventory after doing so? (I have an issue with inventory clutter lol.)
  7. Ah, I found an alternative: COBL. Unfortunately, that causes the exact same problem with its own menus lol. At least I can uninstall it and still have OOO.
  8. So you're saying that the drop lit torch remover will only come into effect after I leave the tutorial dungeon without using an alternative start mod? Because I've got that in both the alternative and regular start, and it persists out in the world afterward. It is also worth mentioning that I had actually tried uninstalling the full version, and instead using the lite version with all the add-ons except for drop lit torches. I found myself being spammed with that irritating use torch item.
  9. And have you used BOSS and checked for incorrect plugins again? Absolutely! BOSS can be fairly inconsistent with its load order though. And I did manage to find an inconsistency. I was apparently using an assortment of different OOO 1.33 and 1.32 things, so I fixed that up. Unfortunately, it did nothing. The most interesting thing about this though is that when I installed the drop lit torch remover recently, it removed that annoying item and its script that replaces it on all of my previously-saved games; yet it did not affect any new games that I started. Even more interestingly is that the use torch item remained gone even after loading those saves with the drop lit torch remover uninstalled. None of this makes any sense at all whatsoever. But anyway, here is my load order, BOSS and all. Active Mod Files: By the way, would OOO 1.34 affect this in anyway? (Not that it makes a difference if I don't use it.) Maybe I could try using OOO 1.32 instead.
  10. I found myself reinstalling at one point in time, and I found the stupid-ass torch hotkey returning. I just gave up trying at the time, but now it is annoying me so much I'm losing sleep lol. I managed to get the DLT remover to work again, but only for games that had been saved prior to the installation. Starting a new game gave me the same old s#*! over and over again. Is there a console command I can use to cease this hotkey torch item from being constantly re-added every time I drop it?
  11. lol THANK YOU for posting this. That is exactly what killed skyrim for me. The combat is so bland because you can't move while attacking, making tactics such as duck and weave or circle-strafing impossible. It just turns melee combat into a hacking match where you trade swings with your enemy. It's like colonial-era warfare: Stand, shoot, reload while standing there; lather, rinse, repeat. And being unable to use a one-handed weapon or two weapons or a one handed weapon and a spell at the ready AND block at the same time is illogical as well. Or using a two-handed weapon AND cast spells. It is maybe justified by using a weapon and a shield or two weapons in that you would need one hand free to cast spells (and even then that can be blown away by something known as an athame). The whole "flamethrower" thing where you press and hold the button and the spell goes on for as long as you hold it down is annoying as well. Another thing that I despise about both Skyrim and Morrowind is how third person view sticks your character on the left. That completely misses the point of being able to switch between first and third person modes. First person mode is so you can see what's directly in front of you, for precision; while third person mode is so you have peripheral vision, so you know which way to turn when that guy suddenly circle-strafes behind you, or to know which direction that arrow that just hit you in the arm came from. In any event, I just installed Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul and some mods that made whole new questlines and pretend I'm playing a new game.
  12. Thank you every so berry pumpkin walrus muffin mutton much. All the obnoxious torch things are gone!
  13. Although I tried that and it STILL adds new hotkey torches.
  14. People on forums who are actually helpful? Wow, I'm both impressed and confused.
