  1. Was hoping someone could explain how to fix this issue I have. My link The horizon seems to want to stay a light color and it makes the nights look terrible. I am using CoT and a highly customized enb based on enhanced shaders and I can't figure out how to fix this. I know that in the enb ini there are separate settings for skytop, skymiddle and skyhorizon but those don't see to do much. Any ideas for how I can make it so the horizon will blend well with the rest of the sky?
  2. Its running so smooth for you because you are not running an intensive enb. Get yourself an enb with all the goodies activated and your machine will feel it. I myself have an i5 2500k, 8gb ram, amd 7950, 256 gb samsung ssd, and I average around 50 fps with all my mods and enb enabled. So to get the most out of your rig, get all the high resolution texture mods out there that you like and get enb. (find an enb with v123 and try out the new reflection feature. That will put an extra load on your system too ;) )
  3. The big payoff with CoT is that is includes many more weather types. For example, there are only two vanilla snow weathers. So anytime you are in a region that has a chance of snow, only two snow types are available. Whereas with CoT there are 8 snow types to choose from. That means you can get a greater variation of snow weathers. (snow type is just an example. It's this way across all types) Anyways, just throwing out the advantages of CoT. But if you don't like it's lighting system then maybe the added weather types won't matter to you. Also, if you are wanting to make your interiors look awesome, I recommend this: Enhanced Lights and fx By far the coolest lighting with interiors in my opinion and compatible with both CoT and RL
  4. I myself am using v123. I started with enhanced shaders 119 preview, and simply switched the 119 dll to 123. And I made a lot of modifications, including making both nights and interiors darker and tweaking Boris's new reflections feature. If you want darker nights and or interiors you mostly have to mess with the direct lighting and ambient lighting settings. Don't forget that depending on the preset you are using, it's possible that some modifications are needing to take place in the enbeffect.fx file. Enhanced shaders enb has a great pdf guide that comes with it that really explains almost all of the settings and fields. It's really well done and a great place to start to learn about enb. Also, remember that you can tweak these files while in-game. Just alt-tab, tweak and save, then go back to game.
  5. I have a great idea for a mod and would really love to start working on it. However, I am not very experienced modder. I was hoping there were some texture gurus out there that could give me some tips on retexturing landscape. I know how to open the .dds in photoshop and get my own working. I guess my main concerns are if there are "things i need to know/do" when texturing landscape. Also, in the ck, there is texturesets and landscapetexture, could someone explain how all that works? or point me in the right direction. All that said, if there are any texturing experts out there that are bored and want something to work on, feel free to let me know and maybe we can work on this as a team. You can get the texture looking good and I can do my best to get it working in ck.
  6. Yeah I agree. i shouldn't assume it's "better", just different style. I thought that when I was making the banner, but I just went with it anyways. Good thing it's easy to change. And I'll keep some gusty snow fall. Just my gusty storms will only happen when appropriate instead of all the time like vanilla is. Thanks for reply, and I'm open to name ideas :D
  7. Thanks Nadimos. I will be making it compatable with the weather types offered by Climates of Tamriel
  8. http://www.hawk-ware.com/snowfall2.jpg Posting a preview of my mod for helpful feedback from you awesome modders out there. Video Preview Background: I dislike the vanilla snow storms. The snowfall is too windy/gusty for my tastes. I wanted snowfall that was thick flakes and fell slow and straight, much like you would get in a thick snowfall in a forest. So I am attempting this mod. It is my first mod, so be gentle with me. I welcome any helpful suggestions. The gusty weather type needs work, but that weather type is proving to be difficult. Once that is finished, I will be integrating this in with Project Reality Climates of Tamriel for those who have that. Thanks to Mannygt for letting me use his custom snowparticle texture, and AcidZebra for getting me off on the right track. Please leave feedback for me. Also, I apologize for the bad video quality. Apparently there is a disconnect from my fraps footage and the video editing software I have. Nonetheless, it still gets the idea across.
  9. There are a few sticky threads above that have many tutorials. Even a dedicated ck sticky. Did you try those?
  10. I would love such a mod. I have WATER and it is great, but that video footage looks amazing. I'd imagine that if the WATER team can do it partially that it is possible to do it fully. +1 for this request. Also, the season changing is pretty cool too.
  11. Figured it out. Have to set the wind in the actual weather system. Set wind to zero and speed to zero, and changed the velocity and size of the snow and I got my desired snowfall! Now to start manipulating each individual snowy weather scenario, each with it's own differences but less vanilla-like. Wonder if anyone would actually be interested in such a mod, other than myself. Thanks for all your help AcidZebra! Loving this!
  12. @AcidZebra- Any idea on what setting in the shader for the snow that I need to manipulate for the snow to come straight down and not so sideways? Is it the offset?
  13. Thanks again. And thanks for the testing tip. I didn't know that I should disable all my other mods, but it makes sense. Unfortunately disabling 20 mods can be a pain, especially when I have to reactivate them when i'm done and in the right order. Oh well, minor detail. Thanks for the heads up.
  14. Also, when testing, can I use the console to call a specific weather system by ID name to activate?
  15. Any idea on what messing with these values will cause Climates of Tamriel to do? You mentioned having to edit the individual weather systems with snow, all the many many of them, but I was under the impression climates of tamriel adds more weather systems.
