  1. Yes,.. that is true for the main image, but if you make a set with multple images, that's not possible. You have to link back to the place where you store your images,.. also, i believe that the resolution ( or format) in wich you are allowed to upload is JPG, or in some cases PNG I think Marmotte suggests that he would to see that it should be able to upload them in PNG or even BMP ,.. wich shows details a whole lot better,.. but i'm speaking on his account without him knowing,..
  2. I've been reading both comments above and i like the input. Definately agree on fullscreen HD possibillitie to show your images, it looks so much better and is beneficial to the Nexus to, i think , because it images shown like that are great beacon for a lot of people , modders, archers and anyone who enjoys watching images or seeing their work displayed. Also i'm in favor of the musical slideshow idea from Marmotte, it seems more logical to do it that way,... indeed like reading a book. I would like to add that , for storytellers, it could be beneficial to seperate the written parts from the image parts , the image on top and the written parts below it so they match. I like the idea's from tetrodoxin for the top images still . I'm not in favor of 1 set/image per person for a certain amount of time. I am in favor of reducing the amount of time you're upthere the more sets you have in there,.. although there should be some sort of a limit. I think it's in nobody's interest to have 10 out of 20 places occupied in the top images. With all due respect, but i think more variety is a good thing for everyone,.. and more enjoyable to watch. It seems that having a top images section is pretty important to most people. hence,... it's important to organize it as fair as possible,.. It's a bit strange to have a rule to allow you only to endorse if you have seen the image,.. but i see the point of it, although i think it's a sad thing . Being more active create's more action around you,. i think that's pretty basic and logical. True neutral judging of images does not exist, it's to dependant on your personal taste and other personallity related stuff. that's about it,..
  3. We all know who'd fill most active endorser and commenter. xD They're in the top images enough as it is. Giving the person more categories to fill would just make them worse. lol I agree with your view,.. i already wrote that it was a rather silly idea,.. but the thought is that i think it's using common sense to think about wether a certain feature is adding something or not. To me personnally it does not,.. i could live very well without. But if it does have a use that is shared by the majority of users i think the idea's proposed by Tetrodoxin are very constructive and usable ,.. and fair. And to me there is still the open question of what the added value is of a top images section if the main goal is sharing. Is there a real need of one being a more beautifull sharing person then another ?? Any thoughts on that ?? I read that Marmotte named that competition or the striving to become a better screenarcher by looking at works that are "top " ranked could be reasons to uphold this system. If that were the general opinion i'd go along without a problem, because the top images section doesn't bother me in the way that others seem to be bothered by, but for me personnaly it doesn't work that way. I get inspired when i see quality work and that makes me strive to improve myself on a personal basis,.. I do not need top images for that,.. I think constructive criticism is possible if you ask specifically for it: "I seem to be struggling getting m character to look this or that way,.. does anyone have an idea what i could do to improve on that ?" I've seen these kind of questions and mostly they were answered and the person who asked the question felt helped. But i think very few people will give constructive criticism out of the blue. You have to ask for i think,..
  4. Constructive criticism is allowed but few people understand what that is and I rarely see any in the imageshares, instead of helpful comments about lighting, composition and that sort of thing you get worthless opinions on the subject matter. As for telling people that you dislike their image, why would you want to do that? like or dislike is purely subjective, "I like that" is a positive thing, it can encourage the author to do more, "I don't like that" is the opposite, it's negative and may well discourage some people. As someone with 2000+ images here I've been on the receiving end of just about every type of comment from the positive to the downright abusive and "I don't like this" is one of the most annoying, it tells me nothing. I don't care whether an individual likes something or not so why tell me? I'm not going to convince someone to like something that they don't like and I'm sure as hell am not going to change what I do to please one person so the comment serves no purpose. I agree with Jim_UK . I see constructive criticism not very often. I've received it a few times but only after me asking for it specificely. I will not tell someone their work is bad either for the same reason as given by Jim. I know that the idea i had for categorie's is a rather silly one,.. but my point is that you should not take an existing way for granted but think about the value of it and does it really add that much that we need to keep it. If so,.. i do think the ideas that Tetrodoxin had for reshaping them are very good and fair,.. I do agree with Marmotte and Shelly that the joy of sharing should be the leading thing , but that is true for every image site and is mostly human driven and hard to control. It's people that create the "mood" on a site,.. not the rules,..
  5. My question would be,.. what is the need for/ thought behind a top images section ?? Has it proven to add any value to the viewing experience ? ,,,, Why not get rid of it all together ?? If there is a big need to be named/rewarded as an extraodinary person why not create a category for most active endorser, or commenter. Categories that praises the amount of appreciation you show others instead of recognition for your own work. You can get that from comments or endorsements,..
  6. Hi,.. I'm posting this here since there night be Someone that understands what could be going on, or has experienced it also. In the past few days I have been uploading two sets to the image section of witcher 3 . But both are not visible in the regular image section, where they should appear after uploading. They are visible in the topimage section, I think due to the fact these sets are visible to the people who have me on track. Any idea what could cause this ?? Thanks in advance,...
