  1. Quick question and I figured asking here would be easier than digging around in a .bsa file. If I wanted to replace or otherwise alter magic spell textures, what's the file path? I'm specifically thinking of altering the color of healing spells. I know this is almost a silly question, but I'd be very grateful! Thanks!!! :)
  2. agerweb Ah, that makes sense actually. I've been away from modding for awhile so some of these little intricacies are still coming back to me :) Algabar It's not actually the same. Similar but not the same. The location is a little further away and the house is actually bigger than the other. If there was no way to convert I was thinking I'd download that one but wanted to see if anyone had an idea. Thanks for the responses. It's too bad there's no reversion process because I can see many great mods being developed for SSE but some tools just aren't available and maybe never will be that we do have for Oldrim. SKSE64 is likely a few months off at least, and ENB will likely never have the robust feature set it does for Skyrim. Ah well!
  3. So, I realize this is a weird question. I also know this is technically not supported by Bethesda. I'm wondering how to convert mods made for SSE to Oldrim. Specifically, I want one of Elianora's house mods for my old skyrim. SSE is great, but my good old Skyrim still looks better and has all the mods I want working how I want them to. And then there's my ENB that makes Oldrim look exactly as I desire it to. And that's way too many hours of work to not use. There's just this ONE house mod (and possible other mods down the road) that I'd like to have in oldrim. I know the conversion can be done as EnaiSiaion has converted an experimental version of Smilodon to Old Skyrim with the caveat it may not work properly. I figure a house mod shouldn't be nearly as hard or problematic. Would it be as simple as opening the SSE mod in the Old CK and saving as 32-bit mod? Thanks for any help or guidance! It's much appreciated! -Jafin16 EDIT: Specifically, this house mod is the one I'm referring to.
  4. In response to post #45435460. #45436655, #45443770, #45444430 are all replies on the same post. I'm rather glad I found The Witcher by chance at Target back when it was still new. Then played 2 later on after it came out, and couldn't wait for 3. I'm discovering I'm one of the rare folks who found the first 1 first.
  5. In response to post #28567949. #28568274, #28568494, #28571489 are all replies on the same post. Why don't you make a mod and try to support that mod? Then come back in 6 months and say the same. You won't. You're right, in general (but certainly not exclusively) modders make mods because they want to make them, whether for use in their game, because they like the process, it's practice for schooling or work (thinking 3D modelling here... and Falskaar which got the guy a job), and other reasons. However, the primary motivator for many is not sharing the mod and certainly not doing all the support necessary. Many (most?) mod authors share the mod out of the goodness of their heart... and then the requests, the inane, repetitive questions, the "this mod is crap" comments start coming in. Suddenly, instead of modding for fun, you're running tech support and, if you're generous, you might start helping people fix their computers they broke themselves in an effort to help them get your REALLY SIMPLE TO INSTALL AND USE MOD to work on their borked systems. After awhile, you might like it when someone sends you five bucks, or buys you a game on Steam or the like because you've been putting up with a ridiculous number of annoyances and abuse for your good hearted effort to share with the community... a community which very rarely gives back. This is just one possible example why a donation might be nice once in awhile... even if it's just $5. You may respond with "Well if you don't like doing it, then maybe you shouldn't do it anymore!" Ok, all of the mod authors who would maybe like a donation once in awhile, even though they rarely if ever get them, will just take our mods down and use them ourselves. OH WAIT! You can't have that! Then you won't have any mods to use! See the problem with your thesis? It actually hurts the mod users more than the authors. The authors can make their own content. Those who are simply mod users, well they can't. Ok, I'm done. *shuffles away*
  6. In response to post #22226929. Wrye Bash (and variations) is only available for Bethesda games. NMM will be able to have profiles for all games it supports (far more than just Bethesda games). That said, I've been using MO for awhile now and I'm quite happy with it. We all have our preferences of mod managers and having greater functionality in any and all of them is a good thing.
  7. In response to post #15782250. That's what the "Abstain" mentioned above is about.
  8. I had a bit of a hiccup as it seemed to recall a very old load order as my current load order when I first started up NMM 0.50.1 for the first time (a load order from probably a year ago old). It found my old install of Skyrim on my Win 7 drive, not my current Win 8.1 install on my SSD. I redirected it though, so all is well. So, a warning to all: double check the file path it finds your game in is correct and avoid looking like a dunce like me! :)
  9. In response to post #7524137. were you using the Sex Change Workaround Mod? The one that sets your race/gender to breton female at character creation instead of Nord male? I know when you uninstall that mod when you made your character using it your female will be female head with male body. Just a thought. It could just be crazy sorcery =P
  10. I know this is an old thread but I've just got to say thank you for this! Happened to my character for the first time today and thought maybe it had something to do with installing Dragonborn. Got it solved right quick thanks to this!
