  1. *Facepalm* My apologies, I saw TES and didn't bother to scroll further down. Off I go then... Cheers Nico
  2. Hmm, so I take it that's a no then ? Cheers Nico
  3. Hi Is there a console command that would allow for all NCPs or all members of a faction, across Skyrim or in a limited zone, to respawn with new equipment picked from edited levelled lists ? I'm basically looking for the same effect the "resurrect" command has on equipment, to use for a WIP mod editing a certain faction's kit. For now all members of said faction still carry equipment based on the the pre-modification levelled lists, and I'd like to include the command in the readme to make the modification appear instantaneously. Cheers Nico
  4. So, as much as I like the looks of those wrist wraps from the Mage robes, they cause some horrible clipping with any kind of gloves I try to use. Being limited mesh-wise to what Nifskope allows me to do without using 12 meshes per item, I've come to the point where I'm left with no other choice but to remove them from both male and female versions of the model, leaving the forearms bare. Seeing how half of the armors in the game show much more skin than apparel designed for freezing cold should anyway, I guess it's just a step towards making the mail armor a little more lore-friendly. Most of the modelling and painting is now done on the first Iron and Steel batch and I'm just a little texture work and a lot of CK fiddling away from release. Cheers Nico
  5. UPDATE : Progress has resumed after a few days spent figuring out some stuff with Nifskope. http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx14/allaboutpics/WIP008.jpg The mesh looked too much like the mail was being worn directly on the skin, which in addition to being pretty unrealistic, didn't look quite good to me, so I added a shirt under the mail to close that gaping hole in the torso and wrist wraps to cover the lower forearms. Unfortunately the new parts have a tendency to clip through the mail and body, and I'm still playing with textures and transparency masks to minimise the effect. I also made the mail darker (Picture shows the new, darker Iron material texture. Iron from earlier pics is now Steel) as I needed more brightness difference between materials while keeping some shades at the lighter end of the spectrum for additional materials I might add later. Silver and Mithril anyone :D ? To do now is to straighten up that female variant using transparency, add gloves and find a suitable Helmet mesh (maybe figure something out in Nifskope using the Steel Helmet and Apprentice Hood ? ) Cheers Nico
  6. Thank you guys, but I was aware of these tutorials, followed them to the letter (which is why I got to make some parts of the mesh transparent in the first place) and went back to them to check for errors when I started getting wrong results, but they didn't help. It turned out the error was caused by a left-over texture set assignment in the CK from an earlier attempt to change the body mesh texture, that I thought I'd reset to default but was still affecting the model. Starting again from scratch solved the problem. Thanks all the same for taking the time to reply. Cheers Nico
  7. Hi Hopefully this should be the last stone standing on the path to completing my mail armor mod. I have added a mesh on top of my main torso mesh and made it largely transparent as I only needed a few parts of it to show. However now that I've done that, the exposed skin parts on my main torso mesh are showing solid black. The strange thing is when I don't apply the transparent textures to the added mesh, the skin parts are showing correctly. What could be at the root of this issue ? Surely the "Skimpy Stuff" crowd have seen this before. Could someone please point to a cure ? Cheers Nico
  8. Thank you for the quick answer. So basically if I paste a branch from "A_0.nif" to "B_0.nif" I must copy-paste the same branch from "A_1.nif" to "B_1.nif" is that correct ? Cheers Nico
  9. Hi I noticed all .nif files have a "_0" and a "_1" version in the Data folder. Is there a reason for this ? What does each do ? Say I'd like to modify a mesh, should I save it under _0 or _1 or both ? Cheers Nico
  10. Hi I'm trying to merge two meshes in nifskope, and while all seems to be working well in both Nifskope and the CK, the modification doesn't appear in game, and the added mesh just won't show. I do believe I have everything linked as it should, what could be going wrong ? Any help would be very appreciated. Cheers Nico
  11. Hmm, that's exactly what I'm looking for however that hood is attached to the rest of the armor, which is one piece, and therefore of no use to me for the mod... The search continues ! Cheers Nico
  12. Hi Just showing progress on a mod I'm working on, now that I think I have enough to show. The aim is to create a new complete (chest, hands, feet and head) lore-friendly Mail Armor set for Skyrim, in heavy and light versions. It originally started as an expansion to Pino's light armours mod, but evolved into a completely separate project and now none of his files are being used. I still feel like I have to credit him for the inspiration though. Two materials so far, Iron and Steel, but will probably expand it to include a variant for each stock game material plus a few more (Silver, Mithril...) as well as faction-specific variants. The cuirass is available in "Shirt" (no mail on legs) and "Suit" (mail on legs) variants. Here's a quick peek at some of the items. Remember, still (albeit pretty advanced) WIP : Iron Mail Shirt and Boots : http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx14/allaboutpics/WIP001.jpg Iron Mail Suit and Boots : http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx14/allaboutpics/WIP002.jpg Steel Mail Suit : http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx14/allaboutpics/WIP003.jpg Iron and Steel quick comparison : http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx14/allaboutpics/WIP005.jpg http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx14/allaboutpics/WIP004.jpg Female Iron Suit : http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx14/allaboutpics/WIP006.jpg http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx14/allaboutpics/WIP007.jpg The gloves shown in the pics are not part of the set, just from another mod my character uses. Nothing out of the ordinary model-wise, I know, but I couldn't edit a 3DS file if my life depended on it. Still working out what model to use for the gloves. What I am in desperate need for right now is a good mesh for the head. ideally, I'd need something as close to the skull as possible and covering the upper part of the torso. A tighter "Monk Hood" without the cape and a rounded-up backside of the head would be perfect ( ;) ;) hint hint ) Comments, suggestions, hints and contributions (see above ;) ;) hint hint ) are most welcome. Cheers Nico
  13. Hi I'm very new to Skyrim modding, so my question has probably already been answered. If so, could you please direct me to a topic/tutorial discussing the issue and disregard the present post (flaming is fine too :D ) ? Is there a way to create several in-game items using one common .nif file but a different texture for each separate item ? In other words, can I have a mod that adds 10 objects all using the same single .nif but 10 different textures. I've looked at stock items with "variants" in the CK and Nifskope but couldn't seem to find a way to do that. Thanks for any help Cheers Nico
