  1. In response to post #69317581. #69317731, #69318976, #69325661, #69327061, #69328151, #69328291, #69328346, #69374037 are all replies on the same post. I don't know, surely I didn't used the right tone. I should avoid irony and sarcasm, it's not for everyone. But thanks. I did the same as you a few years ago for more or less the same reason, deleting +/- 2000 screenshots. But I'm back and nothing have changed. I ask too much to mankind (irony) they are not ready (sarcasm)
  2. In response to post #69340501. #69345769, #69346993 are all replies on the same post. having a mustache is an insult? wow... you fly too high for me.
  3. In response to post #69340501. so now you have a brand new lovely mustache right under your nose ;-)
  4. In response to post #69317581. #69317731, #69318976, #69325661, #69327061, #69328151 are all replies on the same post. Don't know what you drink but I want the same thing ;-)
  5. In response to post #69317581. #69317731, #69318976, #69325661 are all replies on the same post. Nicely said. So? I don't really catch the meaning of your post regarding the subject of mine. But I prolly missed something and you're totally on the right side... English is not my language. So to be clear, I mainly say I was disappointed to see the word "art" with the word "contest" and surprised to see so few "artists" not disappointed like me. I wasn't talking about persons but about behaviors ( sorry Faculty of Psychologies remnants, my bad ) So even if what you say is true and very interesting, it as nothing to do with the subject of my post once more. Shouldn't you try to talk about things I point in my post? edited part, Now, considering you're talking about what I said about the fact that critics are not easily accepted here on Nexus, I got you. I mean I got your idea.
  6. In response to post #69317581. #69317731 is also a reply to the same post. And I've even shaved my body hair for the next "tar and feathers" event. And like always, people will read and understand the opposite of what I'm saying ;-)
  7. Oops... Am I late ? Seems to be more "Conflict and Struggle" in the event comments than in some screenies... A different opinion always sounds like an aggression for some folks down here. I hope some of them "artists" will never have to deal with the real "art world" a scary world with a lot of criticism, good and bad, with many different opinions, often far from theirs... I know, young kids usually don't accept criticism... When everybody think the same way isn't it called a hive mind ? Boring. When only one opinion is tolerated isn't it called totalitarianism ? Frightening. Maybe you should make an exhibit instead of a contest. Nothing to win, never!, no ranking nor "best 3", only sharing. When artists wait for a prize, art dies and so comes the time of financials, billionaires and Jeff Koons. Maybe you should work with other gamers sites to "publish" screenshots exhibitions in the future, in more than one place. It will feed ego for sure. Some people need that. Fine. Things can't work when you put "art" and "competition" at the same place. Art prizes are bull...t. You will only flatter egos. But it will not make this hobby grow as an art. It's like ice and fire, (Hearth Wind & Fire you say? cool) tea and coffee, Tom & Jerry, my ex-wife and me, "It just don't work" I'm truly surprised to see so many people who call themselves "artists" involved in a kind of "art contest". And don't tell me "It's not a contest it's an Event" come on, there's a ranking, a "jury selection"! Ranking art is just a matter of profit balance, not a matter of art itself. How one can say "this one deserve the first place and not this one". What is the rating chart please ? Can you rate a feeling, an emotion? Oh, is there a kind of "Glasgow emotional scale" to rate art ? So Guernica deserves a 10 and Koons balloon dog deserves nothing; both are artists. Who is the best Dali or Picasso ? Or it is only a matter of skills and techniques mastery? So maybe you should say it's not for newcomers, only for "officially recognized and praised talented screenarcher" (still don't know what it is...) Screen-technicians I would say. (best to be in the jury friends list? okay fair enough, that's life) But it is only my opinion, I will never ask anyone to agree with me and maybe I deserve tar and feathers for that... again. And maybe this post will be deleted... Would be glad to have the opinion of people who can flight above the clouds aka the organizers of the event. Thanks for struggling.
  8. If the spamming can be dealt with it would help, a new user can upload the best image ever but if it's buried under a mountain of garbage it's not even going to get seen let alone endorsed. Those who have been here a while will have followers who get notified when they upload an image, that gives them a huge advantage over the new guy who has to hope that some clown doesn't come along and dump ten images on top of his. That said, we should not be making huge changes to deal with one dysfunctional imageshare, this site more than just Skyrim. It's not only Skyrim... The same is already happening on Witcher3 and FO4 image share and TI. Same people, same result. You see the exact same group of persons endorsing a couple of their "VIP club" or "happy few" friends. Make a favorite system, no top. Who really need a top ? Ego ego ego...
  9. I know it's a "showcase and story tellers image sharing" topic but it quickly moved on the TI thing, so... Make a "One image per author at a time" system looks like a good idea, but soon you will have a 27 authors circle who will do whatever they can to keep the TI for them and we will be at the same point : lobbying wins. Today with an endorsement based system, no "anonymous" or newcomer good image author can have the 60+ endo needed to be in the TI (a couple of years ago anyone could be in the TI with +/- 25 endo. Then the multi account auto endorsement givers came ( not even banned when caught by the patrol...) and we reached the 40+ endo step, already hard to reach. And the monster is still growing). You MUST be a member of the clan, meaning you have no other chance than paying the toll and give automatic endorsements to the first circle and maybe become one of the chosen (But only if you are not too talented. Talent is dangerous for them, it's like light and garlic you know...). Sorry, when I talk about TI, I mean "The Ista and friends showroom"... saying the name and the facts will not kill me I hope, but I'm not the kind of person who says "someone" when I can give a name. And we all know who we are talking about here. I'm already more or less blackmailed here so I don't care about tar and feathers... I have nothing against the authors and their court and I've seen one or two nice shots made by them every now and then, but what? 99% of their shots in something called "Top Image"?? nah...sorry, no way. And now we have people who start to become what they are complaining about to get a chance to be in... Some said I'm a good screenshot maker (I prefer to say I'm not a too bad one and it's already too much) and in 4 years, less than 10 of my images reached the top among more than 1000. Please make a random showroom, kick that "Top" named narcissistic things away. Building something which is not based on endorsements and lobbying is the only way to have a bit of diversity. We will see crappy shots in that kind of TI or random thing? Yes that's true, but come on... we already see crappy shots in the TI all the time. Maybe I ask too much for what should be considered as a "Top screenshot" but today I don't see more than 5 really good images in the TI. If a random system gives visibility to other authors, I'm in. A lot of good authors quickly stop to share because they don't get the feedback they deserve, lost in the robotic 10 pic/day spamming. Having a chance to be seen a bit more will prolly make them keep on sharing and improve their art. That's the kind of thing I would like to see. Now, coming back to the original topic, I love a good showcase, pictures based stories, but I've seen recently series of 50 and more extra images with links to authors "previous work" (again, just to get a bit more endos' ... sorry, I stop with that point) Scrolling down for half a dozen of nice images is fine, but 40 or 50 and even more... Why? There should be a limit for that thing too imho. That's just an "average user" opinion. Keep up the good work guys but please change the rules.
  10. Same here, can't even browse in my own pictures.
  11. Just saw this in the image share... All this looks really interesting, the Shaman concept is already excellent. I will surely keep an eye on it. (two eyes). kal. ...now I want to play an Orc Shaman...
  12. Beforehand I would like to specify that I do not know Yagho personally nor is he one of my "friends" on the nexus, just so you know that my appeal is free of bias. I regret, like many others, that the image has been removed. I know the great importance to set rules within a community and that everybody, and I emphasize this point, must follow. Sometimes it is hard to define the threshold at which the rules are broken. In my case I was not shocked or offended by the image and by what I have read of Yagho's appeals that it was not his intention to shock of offend. Though I agree that the text in the upload area is clear personally I take it more as a warning against vulgarity that could spread and certainly offend some, due to the nature of some mods. It is a pity to see such a superb image dissapear, no doubt the captain is the only master of the ship and the nexus is your baby, I think you manage you site admirably and I know that with the recent technical problems you have likely been flooded with emails, some less than polite, but please think about the notion of vulgarity I spoke of above in the text. There is nothing vulgar in the image, but that is but my humble opinion. There we have it, I have put my word in, but a small drop in the waters of this debate, but it is near to my heart. Kaldaar
