  1. Well, I am working on my Sword Art Online mod, and one of the things I was thinking about was having a power (not shout) that allowed you to slow the things around you, but not yourself. Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so how to do so? Thanks
  2. Nevermind, I hit the finalize button on the toolbar ._. Well I have green cylindrical things at the border, which should mean they are good right?
  3. I am not entirely sure about how to finalize, I will be honest. From what I am getting is just red and yellow borders. The green borders you are talking about, does that annotate 2 navmeshs that will interact with each other or something entirely different?
  4. Okay, I seem to be having quite a big issue with navmeshing. The problem being that when I am navmeshing the city that I am making right now, it seems that there are cell borders that I can't pass through and it wont let me connect vertices through this "border". I can make a mesh on either side of the border and take the edges and push them right on top of the border on either side, to where they litterally look like they are one mesh. I run pathing tests and even when they are on top of each other like previously stated the pathing test fails. Has anyone run into this problem before? Is there a fix? Or will the npc's pick up the other navmesh at the border of the one they are in, or get stuck in that navmesh? >.<;
  5. Well, I have finished the exterior of the Town of Beginnings, uploaded the alpha model for people to look at. Any and all constructive criticism welcome! http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37922/?
  6. Well, I wish you luck. But as for him being ALL those things, would it really be that hard to recreate him? Or more so just a pain in the rear?
  7. Thanks! That's the general idea lol. So far I didn't like the interiors so I scapped them. I rushed them so they were bad ._.; But I now how the Town of Beginnings exterior about 90% done. And it looks pretty damn good! To me at least lol. I will probably upload it when the exterior is done as an Alpha stage mod.
  8. This might sound stupid, since I am not all that familiar with quest making, but what would happen if you made a clone of the NPC (same attributes, except made from scratch) and then gave the clone the quest line and replaced the vanilla npc with the clone? Technically an entirely new NPC so... *shrugs*
  9. I agree that really there wasn't much too SAO as far as the show goes, and yes filling in the blanks as far as floors go is going to take some imagination, but what SAO did give was a decent idea of what and how game play should be. The idea wasn't so much to copy the story of SAO, but rather give a mod that offers a SAO-ish experience. Obviously it's going to be insane to make every floor the same size as what they would be in SAO, but having scaled down versions of towns and such should make each floor manageable. This is also why I noted that I would like to be able to release versions by the floor. As of right now I put about 6 hours into the creation kit last night and was able to make about 70%ish of the Town of Beginnings (to scale of course). Thats including cluttered interiors. Today I plan on learning how to make NPC shops and quests. I figure if I can put 6-8 hours a day into it (I am retired remember) that I as a single person can release a floor every week or two depending on the size of the floor. And yes, that does mean that as far as final completed version goes it would take me alone a couple years to complete. Again why I am asking for help from the community. But for right now, I hope to have Floor 1 released by the 15th.
  10. Okay, as it is, I am currently fiddling around with the creation kit, learning how to landscape and such. All well in good. Ultimately though, my goal is to make an overhaul mod which will add Aincrad Castle and all 100 of it's floors. Yes, this is a HUGELY ambitious project, and yes I am DEFINITELY going to need help with it. I have done a basic search for Sword Art related mods. Many weapon mods, a few armor mods, and only one project that seemed to be similar to what I intend to do. Unfortunately the one that I found has been discontinued from everything that I can tell. And even via google all I find is weapon/armor mods. So, with my own obsession with the anime, I decided to take on the project myself, and ask for the modding communities help with this. Plans and Hopes: -Aincrad alternate start. (Something similar to Dimes Quickstart, only asking if you want to play the SAO arc or the Vanilla story arc, and upon completing SAO arc teleporting you to Vanilla slightly after Helgen attack) -Full story arc (without the abrupt end at level 75) -Side quests -Expansive Dungeons -Tower Boss rooms -Field boss spawns -SAO weapons and armors -Main City and 2-4 small towns per floor (preferably static towns without loaded interiors, although understand that might be overbearing) -An overhaul to food to make it more restorative in place of potions, and having potions only attainable via rare ingredient finds and leveled loot -6-12 dungeons per level with one being the Level Boss dungeon. -Floor Bosses scripted to allow access to next floor. -Custom map UI to allow selectable floors to allow quicktravel between floors. (The maps being only 2D) -Possible custom UI to be similar to SAO's (REALLY hoping this is possible, and maybe have a way to set it active or not in the settings) -The "Congratulations" popup when defeating a floor boss. -Custom loot lists that exclude magic spell tomes from dropping (No magic in SAO ;) ) -Each floor averaging to about 1-2 sq Miles of land (Yes, this means that if this mod reaches completion it will be it will be about 150sq Miles. 10 times larger than Skyrim itself, all needing to be hand detailed and built. Yes I am insane) -Custom creatures w/ animations -Released versions for each floor completed Mods that would probably work well with this: SkyXP Skyrim Uncapper A little about me; I am medically retired from the military, and as such have plenty of time on my hands at the moment and foreseeable future. As such, I would really love to be able to dedicate my time to bringing to life one of my favorite animes. Seeing as we are unlikely to get the SAO games from japan any time soon, this has come to me as possibly the best alternative. Yes, this is an INCREDIBLY ambitious idea, and I do realize how daunting it is in it's entirety. Yes, the sheer amount of content in the mod will be insane. Again I WILL need the help of the modding community to see this through. What I know how to do: Landscape Make interiors basic modeling and texturing in 3DS Max (I can make weapons and thats about it... lol) What I will need help with: Scripting Animation and creature design And basically everything in general. I would love to have a team of builders helping me create the world, while others are helping out with the rest. Of course all credit will be given out accordingly. Anyways, I would love to hear everyone's opinions and thoughts on this. And if anyone reading this is interested in helping in the creation of this let me know. I am going to test the waters by creating the Town of Beginnings, releasing that, and see how people react. Thank you for your time and replies, encouragement and constructive criticism, ideas and basically anything that is positive that helps this take off!
