  1. @Dreadshow; Thank you very much. Knew from Skyrim that there was a command. Didn't know if the same for FO4. Have played this game through at least 60 times. Want to continue playing, but can't stand the thought of doing quest again. And yes, radiant quest might still be there, but mostly can be ignored. Thanks much.
  2. Does anyone know of a mod or a bat file uploaded that completes all main and radiant quests. Have played through this game at least a dozen times. Would like to just jump into game and do settlement work only. That is the reason for asking. Thanks
  3. @ Zorkaz; Ok. Deleted both CK ini files. Launched CK. Only enabled backup, no other changes to ini's. Loaded FO4 esm only. Tried to load a cell. Same issue. So CK launches fine. And doesn't freeze until I try to load any cell. And the memory is always showing same amount at freezing, 2375.4mb. I think very strongly it is a conflict between CK and memory. Before trying to load a cell. The memory is showing normal changes to amount of ram used. But during cell loading freezes at 2375.4mb. The CPU is showing changes at time of freeze, but not the ram. Yet with no changes to system or CK. It just goes from working to not. Might also be a windows issue. Though we all know that windows is a perfectly stable system with no flaws.   Beyond that, I'm confused, not that that's not a normal state of mind for me. I've already pulled all my hair out working with the other Bethesda game. Which has its positives, no gray hair or receding hairline.   So now I'll let someone else pull their hair out trying to figure this out. I'm not bothering with bethesda site. Never get nowhere there. But have always found solutions from community. Sad when the community can solve issues better than the developers of game.
  4. Thanks, will give that a try. But will have to redo some changes I made to ini. Such as loading multiple masters, etc. I'm also going to launch bethesda launcher and check files. Might be an issue there. Not sure how the memory is being affected so suddenly. Have been using CK and only had 2 days since last use. Worked fine then now doesn't, weird. Will give an update soon.
  5. This issue just started to occur. Have been working on a mod for about 3 weeks. CK has been behaving up to this point. Now when I load the mod. NP. Load a cell and just get permanent "not responding". The "not responding" is normal while it's loading things. But not permanent. What I find strange is when looking at task manager. I notice something not right. While CK is trying to load cell, the CPU is showing fluctuations between 0.1% - 0.5%. But the ram seems locked at 2375.4mb. After repeated force quits of CK. This same ram # is consistent and doesn't fluctuate. This is happening even when no mod is loaded, just FO4 esm. And occurs with any world cell. Haven't tried with interior cells yet. The ram usage at the time of occurence is sitting under 50% of total ram. So not short on ram. There have not been any updates to system or drivers. And all are up to date. Anyone out there know of why this is happening. Thanks
  6. Just getting back into tearing up FO4. Been trying to see what damage I could do to 76. Have used NifSkope extensively in past. But now when I load a nif in NifSkope, the save function is grayed out. I have sanitize before save checked. I inspected the texture paths to make sure they are correct. Have even run as admin. But still won't let me save anything. The app is on a drive outside "C" drive. And the game is not on "C" drive either. Don't recall ever having this issue. So not sure what is the cause. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks
  7. If the overlapping textures are on the same surface, then you need to remove one. Which can be done in NifSkope. But if there are two textures overlapping across two surfaces. But you want each on a separate surface. Then again NifSkope can be used to assign each texture to a different surface of the object. That's if I'm understanding you situation correctly. Can also use photoshop, with the dds plugin, to resize the texture if needed.
  8. @OldSaltyCroc; Just because you didn't understand the post doesn't make it dishonest. Your on the Nexus forums not Bethesda forums. Therefore a given that SKSE is being used to launch game. And a custom ini is being used to adjust game settings. Also I just checked both Nvida and AMD tech. Neither has a scaling option in their software. Scaling is a windows feature. As is refresh rate. AMD tech gave me the answer. The screen is 4k 3480x2160, that doesn't change when playing this game. What changes is how the game renders graphics files. So 3480x2160 is twice the resolution of 1920x1080. So I set the game resolution to 1920x1080 @ 120Hz. Now the game fits the screen perfect. And the screen resolution is still 3480x2160. If a game changes the screens resolution, you would see that occur by screen temp flickering. You can also hit windows key and check what your screen resolution is at that moment while game is running. Display settings is where to check this. If a game changes the display resolution, then display setting will reflect that change. And with this game set to 1920x1080 my screen resolution is remaining at 3480x2160. This game doesn't change screen resolution, as some games do. So I didn't need to change anything with game.
  9. @OldSaltyCroc: Thanks for reply. I use bethesda ini editor to set game option and SKSE to launch game. I use radon adrenlin software for video card setting and under FO4 settings I have it set to preserve aspect ration. But there is nothing in video card software regarding scaling. Only in windows display settings can I adjust scaling. Is there a setting in FO4 ini that can set the scaling? If I set scaling to 100% the game fits the screen correctly, but the text in game is too small to read. So I do need to fix this.
  10. Just started using a 4k 120Hz 40" tv for FO4. Resolution is 3840x2160. In order for text to be readable I have scaling set to 200%. But when I run FO4 I have to switch the scaling to 100% otherwise the game won't fit on screen. What settings in FO4 do I need to change, that will match the scaling I use? I already have the resolution set in FO ini. Thanks
  11. Posted this to Bethesda forums, but got nothing. Hoping to find one here. Just installed new SSD and had to reinstall game. Game loads fine. Loading existing character works fine. But after fully loaded and I open pipboy (tab). No CTD, until I select another category, (Aid, armor, etc.). Then it CTD's. Have done file validation, Have not yet made any modifications to game (no mods, no Custom.ini). Saw last update had UI changes. And think this is a UI issue. Not for sure though. But is repeated on 2 other character saves. Also does this on private world as well as public. Specs: Ryzen 5 6core, RTX 650 8gb ddr5, 16gb ddr4, Win10 Home x64, installed to new 2tb SSD. All is fully updated (drivers, system, and game). Need this fixed, can't play otherwise. Am going to create a new character and see if it still happens. Will update what happens. PS: This is the steam version with all but last DLC, including FO 1st.
  12. This topic is for those who have a history and knowledge of modding Bethesda games. Topic focus: Loading esm, esl, esp files. These files all have one main thing in common. They let the game engine know that changes and\or custom content is being made\added to game. Without these files the game can load bsa, ba2, and loose files. But without an esm, esl, esp the game will not know what to do with that new content. In past Bethesda games. These esm, esl, and esp files were loaded by game engine via a file called "plugins" When the game is started. It loads it's default files. Then loads any files listed in the plugins file from top to bottom. So new files added after default files would over write files above them (default game files). This gave modders a way to change the game. With FO76, the plugins file no longer exist, so new content could not be added to game. With FO76 we can only change what already exist through ba2 files, and adding those to a "FO76custom.ini" file. If a ba2 is added to that list that contains content, other than default content, then the game engine will load it. But has nothing that tells it what to do with the new content. Yet, I'm seeing a few authors out there that have custom content that includes either an esm, esl, or esp. That is placed in data folder. So this leads me to ask. How is the game engine going to load those esm, esl, esp files without a plugins file? I have search through the FO76 folders\files in AppData->Local->FO76, in the root game, and documents. And have found no file that gives the game engine the instruction to load that new file. I'm not saying that those mods don't work, just not understanding how they work. Based on previous games. So any mod author input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Only as a reference, no bad to the author: only an example; "Bak a file" adds an esm to data folder.
  13. Have been modding Bethesda games since beginning of FO and ES series began. So I do know my way around the game. If your trying to load a mod that is replacing the games default files. And finding that they won't load or CTD when trying to start game. Then here is a fix that has always worked. Just remember to back up both original ba2 and changed ba2. So if game updates you won't lose your changes. Open the games ba2 file that has the file your trying to replace with the Archive 2 program from FO4. Then add your file to it. Replacing the original. Then save. Once you have done this you will find it will load. And needs no editing of custome.ini file. Also removes a little of the load time, since it doesn't have to load both original and modified files. Hope this helps resolve another issue with a Bethesda game.
  14. Thanks for reply. Finally found the issue. I had the command in Shortcut spelled with all lower case letters. I changed "-AllowConsole" to "-allowconsole" and like magic the console now works. Shows how something small can have a big impact. Issue solved. BTW: Using US English keyboard so it is the ~ key. Just above tab key.
  15. I'm using the alt launcher for mods. Under setting I set command line start option "-Review -NoRedscreens -NoStartupMovies –AllowConsole", without quotes. I know that the start up movies part is working, but when in game and I use "~" key, which brings up the console in other games. Nothing happens in this game. I only added the last 2 commands. The first 2 were there already. Not sure what they do. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thx
