  1. Team Name: Azturnal (after our favorite Daedric princes) Members: mysty and calicogwen
  2. I replied in the comments thread on the download page, but in case you missed that - I'll be updating with a rebalanced version based on comments I receive from players (probably a multi .esp pack so people can customize a bit - I've gotten several comments that it's overpowered, and several requests to add features that would make it even MORE powerful). Thanks for letting me know, and hopefully I'll have a version out that's more to your liking soon. :)
  3. All of the destruction spells level. By mastery, the spells should be doing the following damage (not counting any perks for augmented damage or from illusion; I also left off the extra damage to stamina from frost spells and magicka from shock spells but it should scale too) Flames/Frostbite/Sparks: 28dps Firebolt/Ice Spike/Lightning Bolt: 42 dmg to target Fire/Frost/Lightning Runes: 105 dmg on contact (cannot be dual cast) Flame/Frost/Lightning Cloak: 18 dps to nearby opponents Fireball/Ice Storm/Chain Lightning: 63 damage (area varies) Incinerate/Icy Spear/Thunderbolt: 84 damage to target Wall of Flames/Frost/Storms: 70 dps in fixed location Fire Storm: 105 (aoe centered on caster, more damage to closer targets, cannot be dual cast) Blizzard: 35 dps for 10 seconds (aoe, cannot be dual cast) Lightning Storm: 154 dps (single target, cannot be dual cast)
  4. Quick update: Several people requested a version of the .esp with the leveled destruction spells and related perks only. This is now available in addition to the regular .esp (same download page, version 1.01)
  5. That's odd... What are you wearing on your head? I can wear mage robes, hoods, boots, and gloves and still get the multiplied armor bonus (as well as the yummy enchantments to help keep my magicka regen up, etc.)
  6. Already ahead of you on the leveled spells part... at least for destruction magic. I'm trying to let people know (since it's a request I've seen a lot!). Here's the link: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2275 Basically, all of the destruction spells improve as you invest perks in novice, apprentice, adept, expert, and master destruction. This leads to a pretty decent set of spells at mastery - AoEs, rune traps, melee range, targeted, cloaks, etc. all being scaled to a useful level for higher characters. :)
  7. I completely understand - I think many of us were a bit disappointed not to get our hands on the tools as soon as the game was released. I have always been impressed with the ingenuity and talent of the elder scrolls modding community, and like you, will be eagerly looking forward to seeing what sort of great mods will be created once the creation kit is available. :)
  8. After reading numerous complaints about destruction magic in Skyrim, I decided to take a crack at improving magical combat. I uploaded version 1 yesterday, and I'm happy to say that most of the feedback so far has been pretty positive, but I would love to hear some more opinions, to know if you encounter any bugs or issues with the mod, and if you have any suggestions for improvement. Thanks! You can check it out here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2275
  9. I created a mod that scales destruction damage and generally improved magical combat. Please check it out and let me know what you think. Here's the link: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2275
  10. I created a mod that does several of these things. Please check it out and let me know what you think! http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2275
  11. You might be interested in my Battle Mage mod. It scales destruction spells as you invest in novice/apprentice/adept/expert/master perks. No console commands required! By mastery, you should have a pretty decent arsenal of destruction spells without being overpowered. I'm trying to get plenty of feedback and suggestions for improvement. Here's the link: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2275
  12. I created a mod to improve magical combat that addresses a couple of the issues mentioned here. If you're primarily using magic to deal damage, it is a bit awkward to pause the action, switch spells, cast a protection spell, switch again, and then get back to the fight. For that reason, my mod doubles the duration of protection spells (like Stoneflesh), and with the Stability perk, the duration increases by 150% so that the spell lasts 300 seconds (should be long enough for just about any single encounter). I reduced the armor the spells provide, but increased the multiplier for unarmored mages - this makes the protection spells a little weaker for armored players, and a little more powerful for clothies. Additionally, destruction magic scales so that it becomes more viable as primary magical damage. Please take a look, I'd love to hear what you think or if you have suggestions for improvement. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2275
  13. Hi Tykk! I created my mod before reading your post, so it takes a slightly different approach to balancing destruction magic but I completely agree with you that most of the mods that "fix" destruction are way too overpowered - which is why I made my own. ;) I made destruction spells scale so that by the time you master destruction, you should have a pretty good arsenal of spells to play with. Spell costs increase as the spells get more powerful, although I have made adjustments that allow you to regen magicka a little faster in combat (75% of your normal rate) and lowers the casting cost more as your proficiency increases. Please take a look, because I'd love to get more feedback. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2275
  14. I created a mod that increases magicka regen in combat to 75% of normal regen (as opposed to 33% unmodded) and improves magical combat overall. Destruction spells scale, dual casting becomes a worthwhile perk, and spell costs decrease more as you become more proficient in the associated school of magic. It might be just the sort of thing you're looking for (and if not, I'm happy to hear suggestions for improvement!) You can check it out here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2275
