  1. After my character left Bleak Falls Barrow, I've been followed by this cloud of what looks like the cave fog/smoke that's fairly common around Skyrim. Tried looking for someone else with this problem but can't find anything. Here's a quick video of what I'm on about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlSUCUT82lU&ab_channel=DibtheLegend It persists with ENB turned off and I've tried "player.dispelalleffects" to no avail.
  2. Well I'm not sure where the texture path is stored in the .nif file, but I tried removing the original chargen files from my Skyrim folder and she still worked in my game, so I don't think that is the problem. Thanks for your time.
  3. I'm not sure what you mean by "path of the FaceTint texture." I moved the file and renamed it from the chargen folder and into the proper facegendata folder. Is there anything more I need to do in the Creation Kit to path it properly?
  4. Okay, one at a time. Expandsystemmemory is not necessary if you use the latest version of SKSE as sheson's memory patch already does that. Doesn't do any harm, just not much good enabled. 2 970m's would equal 6GB dedicated memory, not 12GB, but you want to preload to VRAM to reduce stutter, so enable that. 1024 reserved is high, but if you have room for it then you can leave that. Total video memory really shouldn't exceed 3714 but you have 6GB dedicated, so you can raise it if you run into problems/stutter. You can turn off compression for the same reason. You really shouldn't be having any problems, even with what you have it at now. These changes would be minor optimizations.
  5. So I am attempting to make a standalone follower. She has a custom body, skin color, eyes, hair, eyebrows, hair color and a CharGen face that I exported and modified with NPC Nif Merge. Although she appears 100% the same character as the one she was based on, when installed on another person's system the skin fails to appear on her head. Everything else seems to be in order, including the facetint profile and eyes/brows. A purple mesh is indicative of a bad texture path, but if that were the case then surely the same bad path would appear in my own game? This problem has been rather frustrating as I have successfully created standalone followers before, and it is impossible to troubleshoot within my own game. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Here is an image of the problem: http://i.imgur.com/cL5VIgR.png
  6. SteamMover is a nice little application that will setup and move over the files from a game to a different drive. Although I really would not worry about hitting your write limit. Unless you're changing all your mods every day for a year, you're not likely to hit it. In general, SSD write limits are only a concern in data centers, where files are rewritten constantly.
  7. I hate to post something so generic as this, but I was wondering if anyone else was having a problem with Vault 81. I've tried it with all mods (around 6 plugins, nothing major) disabled, across different save files, and even COC'ing into various parts of the vault, all have caused a CTD during the load. This problem is quite recent, as I had no problems with this area prior to today. I tried verifying the cache several times, nothing seems to be missing. I also tried restarting my PC for all the good it did. Any help or tips on what to try would appreciated, thanks
  8. It sounds like the engine is trying to play an animation repeatedly and crashing to the desktop because of a loop. I would try running FNIS to see if any animations are giving you trouble. you could also just try resetting the area by waiting in a player owned house for 31 days.
  9. Okay so apparently the best thing to do is to remove "dxgi.dll" and "dxgi.fx" from your skyrim directory. These files are injected by SweetFX and although usually benign (and are actually intended for DX11), are acting up with the new driver. I would avoid deleting them entirely just in case though.
  10. I'm having the same problem after updating my drivers with Nvidia. Googling around I've only found crude solutions like deleting SweetFX and things like that. I noticed it did not happen when I used the regular launcher instead of SKSE
  11. I assume that you used something like Nexus mod Manager to do this, and no, if you didn't overwrite anything then only the mod you didn't want will be missing.
  12. So I'm in the midst of making a custom Dwemer race for my own use. I'm trying to modify the wood elf racial power of controlling animals to allow for the same effect on Dwarven Machines (workers, spheres, centurians that sort of thing.) I've worked my way down to the effect in the Creation Kit, but the only thing that I can see to logically modify is changing the subject from Keyword: animal to keyword: dwarven. I've also peered through the scripts involved in the effect and I can't derive anything faction specific from them. I've tested the power in-game and as you've probably figured, it did not work. Any help on this subject would be appreciated, thanks. This is what I've changed so far, to no avail: http://i.imgur.com/jH5Geix.png
  13. It shouldn't make any difference, as long as both are lower on the load order than the mod.
  14. So I'm not guaranteeing that I would do it, but I'm interested in doing a full overhaul of one of my previous mods here on the Nexus ( http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/61577/? ). She's currently a Snow elf follower that uses a generic female voice, has no backstory, and her eyebrows aren't quite right. I would like to someday remake her with a fully custom voice, and possibly a bit of backstory as well. The hardest part would be finding the right voice actress, and procuring a decent quality mic to record it all with. But that is beside the point of this post. I wanted to start an inquiry about possible dialogue you think she might have. Anything from casual comments about her surroundings, to her opinions on various things around Skyrim, or even things she would shout while in combat. Of equal value would be things the dragonborn would ask her, and how the two would interact. I've written a few lines of basic dialogue already, but I thought I might get some community input before I continue any further. Thanks for checking this out, and hopefully giving your 2 cents :)
