I think we are commiting a mistake in the way we think about Textures

For many years i saw commentaries in Texture mods in the terms:

 

4K, 8K, "maybe you hardware cant run it", "at least x GBs of video memory", but it isnt like that

 

You can have the most powerful PC ever, but we are running skyrim, with a 11 old engine, hard coded for Direct X 9 (with some features of Direct x 10, and barely compatible with Direct x 11),

 

Everything skyrim is built on this foundation, our computers today can brute force this huge load of data through this components but it becomes extremely unreliable,

 

 

Im experimenting using the great textures modders crafted around the years for skyrim but resized to the same dimensions vanilla vanilla textures had, i am loving the results,

They are artistically amazing and i never saw my skyrim so stable in years

 

And with a custom ENB to make the shaders modernly sharp

 

Personaly im loving the results, i recommend experiment with that
