Character can only walk sideways

I picked up this game again after not touching it for a few months and for some reason my character won't walk forwards or backwards; only sideways. Everything else seems to be working fine.

The mods I have installed + enabled:

OBSE

Clear Water

Console Spell

Oblivion Xbox Gamepad

The xbox controller is working fine otherwise. Switching to keyboard + mouse does not fix the movement issue.

any idea what's going on or how to fix it?

lol xD Your using a Gamepad to play the game, correct? In your ini the options to change the XYZ axis needs changed for gamepads.

Backup your Morrowind.ini > Find & change this part:

; X=1, Y = 2, Z = 3, XRot = 4, YRot = 5, ZRot = 6
Joystick Look Up/Down=5
Joystick Look Left/Right=4
I THINK those values are correct. Default is Up=6 Left=3. It's funny bc I haven't seen this "problem" in a long time :P

I assume the Oblivion code must be different from the Morrowind code, because all I found with ctrl+f were the two joystick lines. I edited them and nothing changed. that section currently looks like this:

iJoystickMoveFrontBack=2

iJoystickMoveLeftRight=1

fJoystickMoveFBMult=1.0000

fJoystickMoveLRMult=1.0000

iJoystickLookUpDown=5

iJoystickLookLeftRight=4

fJoystickLookUDMult=0.0020

fJoystickLookLRMult=0.0020

Review the in-game settings (Main Menu -> Options -> Controls -> Controls) and make sure they are appropriate for your controller.

the only options are Left Stick Move/Right Stick Look (which is what I currently have enabled) and Right Stick Move/Left Stick Look

Oh that's good. I answered a Oblivion thread. My Bad. Apologies.

EDIT:

THIS is the correct one lol From Oblivion.ini. In this folder: %User\Documents\My Games\Oblivion

;X = 1, Y = 2, Z = 3, XRot = 4, YRot = 5, ZRot = 6
iJoystickMoveFrontBack=2
iJoystickMoveLeftRight=1
See if this is what you have. If not, you will have to find the correct number for the iJoystick...FrontBack= & LeftRight=. There are a few threads around the net on "tweaking" the gamepad. DM me if you want links. Good luck.
