copy-paste doesn't work anymore in forums since cluster attempt

Hi all,

Since the attempt to do server clustering for the Nexus forums I have lost the capability to copy-paste text into it. Is there any known solution for this - or am I the only one suffering from this? I have tried on 3 different computers, and I am not able to do any copy-pasting directly into the forums.

I can however copy-paste when I am not using the full editor (like on mod comments section or when clicking 'Send message' on someone's user profile). When replying to a thread or when writing a new post (like now) copy-paste is disabled.

Well, I just "copy-pasted" your entire post into this one. So the issue isn't (directly) a Nexus one.

What browser are you using?

Have you tried using another one?

When did you last flush your cache/reboot?

I just tried to copy/paste your response into the quick reply and paste was greyed out in the context menu but it works using the shorcut keys. It has been that way for awhile now along with the code tags parsing incorrectly.

IE10

No

Once a day

I reported the code tags but never got a response.

I use IE10, and tried with FF (dunno which version - at work) and IE9.

I tried with shortcut and by right click menu. And on 3 different computers 2 with Win7 64 and 1 laptop with XP. None of them allowed me to copy-paste...

Lemme try now again;

<nope, your questions should of been pasted here>

Oh and to answer them;

reboot once a day, or more, depends - cache is cleared on browser close but I have done it manually as well. Tried reloading the cache as well multiple times... It's bugging me a lot because I post a lot into troubleshooting sections to help people... and having no copy-paste capabilities it gets a bit annoying at times posting links etc which sometimes are like ...yHgFDTHpAmTWb?usp=whatever in them as so on...

yes & yes

I am mainly trying to figure out what is causing this since it statistically not very possible all my systems show the same behavior at the same time from different locations and networks (I don't share any files or whatever between them.... so it's pretty hard to think of any malware causing it - my Av software (using 3 different ones on each system) didn't popup with anything)

Seems to be working for me. Copy and paste functionality is client-side, not server-side, so it's likely to be some sort of issue with your browser/plugin setup.

This is weird...

I'll see what I can do with it, and how it happens on all my systems at once... and it's only the full editor in which it is not working (the one I'm typing in now)... everywhere else it's working.

Ill try a few other forums to see there. Perhaps I can figure out something.

Nop, seems to be specific to this forum only... just tried a few others (GeForce website, Facebook, Flickr, Google related applications, some random ones on internet)...

I also created an account on IP.Board which your forum software comes from, and I can copy-paste there as well.

So I'm a bit puzzled as to why it doesn't work on the Nexus forums.

I don't seem to get an option to 'paste' using right-click or context-menu in the full editor either, but as I never use the menus but always the shortcuts (ctrl-c + ctrl-v) I obviously never realized it before.

To further detail the issue, the option 'does' become available as soon as I copied something from inside the full editor first. Having something in the clipboard already apparently isn't recognized by the editor.

(Firefox12, MacOS-X, if it makes any difference)

edit: On the other hand, scrap that though. I just tried it again and my copied content still was available for pasting, BUT, and that's a really big but, it will not work when the cursor is at the end of the text! Only when placing it somewhere inside the text the paste option will become available in the context menu. Of course this will prove difficult to do, when you start a new post and there is no text.

Hmmmm... I use IE10 (unless testing some aberrant behavior.)

Just "Left-click-n-drag" to highlight your text, then "copy-pasted" (Ctrl-c / Ctrl-v) to place the text here. The result is below:

Seems to work as intended/expected with no problems... :huh:

So next I tried "Right-click/Copy -> Right-click/Paste. This is the result:

Again, no problem.

Jupp, like I said, the shortcuts work fine for me no matter where, that's why I never even realized it before.

But if you right-click at the end of the text or in an empty text field, the context-menu option to 'paste' isn't there. All I get is 'select all'. Ctrl-v will insert the clipboard content quite fine though.

edit: And another correction, the option 'is' there even without any text in the input field, but you need to right-click exactly within the 1st line. Any inch below the cursor and the option disappears.
