CTD 300+ mods

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am modding Skyrim since a few months and since a few weeks I had only a few random CTD, and some CTD on save (quick save and hard save).

I used the player.kill workaround and started a new game witch seemed stable.

Now, it looks like I reached a treshold as I encounter random CTD and constant save CTD (player.kill has no effect now).

I enabled papyrus logging, but nothing appears in /mygames/skyrimse/...

Netframework crash log is very inconsistant

Here my modwatch link (SSE and not classic) :

https://modwat.ch/u/PrincesseKiwi

I'm using latest ENB with no preset (0454).

I'm now pretty desperate on what to do, so any help would be welcome.

Tell me if I need to post any more informations !

I would say off the hop that you don't have enough conflict resolution. Some of your patches may be doing nothing as only one patch can affect one record. Having multiple patches for the same record is useless as only the last record is ever used. Having multiple patches for one esp is ok if they are patching different records.

One of the problems with loading up on mods without lots of testing and lots of conflict resolution is everything does seem to work ok at the start of a new game. But as you become higher levels, and as you open up new area's of the game, it (the game engine) has to start juggling more balls. The more balls the engine has to keep in the air the more prone it becomes to ctd and instability. What seems like a stable game at level 1, may be unplayable by level 25 or earlier. I currently have over 500 mods in a stable game but you will only achieve that by learning how to use Xedit and resolving conflicts.

A quick and dirty way to resolve a lot of conflicts is using a smashed patch. It does way more conflict resolution than a bashed patch.

You have a lot of patches for mods, but there are a lot of unseen conflicts that have yet to be resolved.
