Creation Kit Render Window?

Alright so i just got started trying out the creation kit for the first time. On the recommendation of some other people i wanted to try just duplicating exsisting things and playing around with them to learn how the creation kit works.

Ive finally managed to open something in the render window. Found out you have to use the cell window and select from there. Was trying to drag from objects window into the render window but nothing was happening.

So i have opened alchemists shack in the render window and the only thing i can do is zoom in and out. How do i move the view and look around to move/edit object? Is there some settings im missing somewhere to enable the mouse so i can look around?

Ive tried just using arrow keys to move around but it moves over so far i can even see the alchemists shack anymore. Just finding it very hard to figure out how to move inside the creation kti renderer thing. Must be some way look/move around the world to edit object.

Once you have a cell loaded, click the window bar at the top of the render window to make it active - then hold down left shift key and you can look around with the mouse. Providing you mouse is configured to standardised defaults the you hold down the middle button to move directly left / right / up / down. Scroll the mouse wheel forward and backward to move in those directions.

However if you select an item in the render window then it'll do what's called anchoring the camera and when you shift+look around it'll focus on the item you've select. If the item isn't central then shift+f will centre it. To get the camera back into full floating mode you need to press d to deselect whatever is highlighted and shift+f to de-anchor / de-focus the camera from the object.

It's all a bit strange and clunky but you'll soon get used to it.
