Installing SSE Engine Fixes

The instructions are confusing.

Says "_preload.txt" file needs to be in directory. Where exactly should it be put by name and file path. "directory" is a bit vague.

In the listings of Engine fixes, patches, ect. has (default = whatever). Does that mean you should set the value to the listed default or it's opposite? Why don't they just show what each setting SHOULD be?

The instructions were written for someone who already knows how to install this and doesn't NEED the instructions anyway.

Where's the confusion?

Just unzip the Zip file in your DATA directory, the way the zip file is zipped, if you unzip it in your DATA Directory, the entire contents, including the EngineFixes_Preload.txt will all go in DATA\SKSE\PLUGINS\ folder

Click on PREVIEW FILE CONTENTS under the Download Button on the Mod Page and it will show you how the zip file is packed up, and the paths to where it will unzip

Not quite.

Part 1 needs to go into data/skse/plugins. Or you can simply install it with a mod manager.

Part 2 needs to be copied manually into your main Skyrim folder. This is the "root" folder, where e.g. your skyrim.exe is located. It's something like D:\Games\Skyrim SE.

BTW, in the mod description for Part 2, it clearly says "Download this and extract it to your main Skyrim folder manually; it cannot be installed with a mod manager."
