NEW "Save Oliver" Mission Bug ?

Hi guys,

 

My game is fully auto-patched (via U-play) to version 1.05 and no mods are installed. I'm up to the Save Oliver mission. This is my first time through the game. Have played for about 20 hours to get to this point (freeing all outposts, completing all side-missions, collecting all relics).

Anyway, I drive to the lookout area within the time provided, take out two bad guys, walk to the cliff where sniper rifle is placed, game auto-equips me with the camera, I can zoom and locate Oliver after he arrives. Oliver then gets kicked around by one of the bad guys, game auto-equips me with the sniper rifle, I see Oliver and bad guy through gun's scope (can hold my breath to steady aim), they make their way towards the helicopter.

Now here's the strange part (bug), whenever I try to shoot the sniper rifle it's like I have no bullets/ammo and then fail the mission because Oliver gets to the helicopter and taken away. No matter how many times I try this mission I can't complete it for this reason. Now stuck and can't advance.

Can anyone suggest why this is happening and how it can be fixed. I haven't read of anyone else experiencing this problem. Ubisoft suggested I un-install and re-install game, then patch manually and start again. Not impressed with that idea.

Hi guys,

 

Good news, I worked out what the real issue/bug was. Because I use my PC with a wireless keyboard which has a trackball on one side and the mouse buttons on the other side I reassign my "shoot" key to the spacebar (not mouse button). Not sure why but the sections of the "Save Oliver" mission from where you shoot the bad guys with the sniper rifle from the lookout area onwards would not recognise the spacebar as my "shoot" key - only the left mouse button would fire the sniper rifle. After completing the Save Oliver mission the game recognised the spacebar as my shoot key again - bizarre !!!

 

Anyway, have now completed that mission and I'm continuing with the game. If anyone else experiences this problem please pass this information onto them.
