[LE] No audio for certain followers

So I've been nervous of posting here, but I have nowhere else to go. If this is really, really stupid, I'm sorry, but my google fu has been exhausted, and I've never, ever experienced this issue before, despite being able to create followers of varying complexities in my sleep.

 

I'm working on the update for my Plushie Pals mod, a mod that adds a bunch of stuffed animal followers that all use vanilla voice types (with some help from Relationship Dialogue Overhaul). All the followers in 1.0, and most of the new followers all function perfectly and their dialogue is audible. The new dragons, however, will speak to you, and while the subtitles show that not only are they being fed dialogue, it's the correct dialogue for their voice type, the audio is nonexistent. This happens in an otherwise-unmodded game (even without RDO, which I was concerned was conflicting in some way with the dragons' race). So for instance, I can spawn Cosette, a white cat with the FemaleDarkElf voice type, and Alex, a red dragon with the same voice type. I can interact with both, I can get them both to follow me and behave, but while they both say the same lines, Alex is 100% silent.

 

In order to manage these followers' movement behaviors, they use copied and renamed race forms corresponding to their rigs. Most of the followers use the hare rig, so use a duplicate of the hare race form. Sea turtles use horker info, and dragons use netch info. I kind of think this issue stems from the netch race, but the more I think about it, the more I really couldn't tell you why I think that beyond it's the one thing all the dragons have in common and which is different from the rest of the followers. I've tried them as male and female, on the off-chance there was something with the male information in the race form that was suppressing something, but that didn't change anything. I've pored over the mod in both CK and xEdit, trying to find some difference, but I keep coming up empty.

 

I don't understand why it would be the audio, specifically, that disappears. You'd think if it were some sort of compatibility issue, the result of something not being checked or whatever, I wouldn't be able to interact, at all. Certainly I wouldn't be getting the proper subtitles for their voice types? Like that's weird, right?

It does require Dragonborn to load. I don't just want to post the entire mod here, but if you have an idea that needs everything so you can test it, let me know and I'll PM you the link.

 

Published the mod since it's basically working and I doubt this will be resolved anytime soon, no matter what. But if you're interested, here's the LE version (I prefer to work LE -> SE).

Edit: While I am open to keeping them silent (I know a couple of people who would like that, anyway), I'd at least like to know for consistency's sake if there's anything to be done.
