Hello Guys,

After having CTD's in exteriors i followed the very nice guide by missjennabee

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/753253-only-you-can-prevent-forest-fires/

but couldnt zero in on the mod giving me trouble, so I decided to make a pristine vanilla skyrim and start from scratch.

After I did that, I encountered something I'm not really sure about being a problem or not.

When i tried to edit Lydia's default gear via console I saw that about half of her stuff had

"BAD EDITOR ID XXXXXXX" beneath the specific item.

I was a bit confused and looked into other npc's inventories using the console and

discovered that there were loads of bad editor id's.

After the Reinstall, my loadorder doesnt contain any mods besides the unofficial patches,

so I dont know what could cause this or if there is any harm in having these bad editor id's

(the problem occured without the unofficial patches as well)

Loadorder

Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Dawnguard.esm
HearthFires.esm
Dragonborn.esm
Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp
Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp
Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp
Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp

I am using the latest SKSE build and BOSS to run and organize mods if I run any.

ok i think i get that, but why is there even a problem with bad editor id's?

an example, so that i may understand this a litte bit better:

in the beginning, when you sit in the carriage alongside Ulfric, Ralof and the horse-thief,

ralof's armor, boots and his handcuffs have a "bad editor id".

What consequences does that exactly have and could that be harmful for the integrity of my game?

Probably zero. Wouldn't reccomend removing them either.r

they can be removed using removeallitems command but they come back every load screen or when giving them any items. It doesnt come back when loading a save though.

Removing them doesn't cause any problems, though I wish they'd stay away forever.

Hello. In my case, I couldn't open a chest in Breezhome without having CTD. Then I command Lydia to take all from it. When it was empty, I could use it aain, but I can't look on Lydia's inventory.
I used showinventory command console and I've seen this "Bad editor ID" items there. I am sure that CTD is caused by them and not any mod, since papyrus shown to me few minor problems with different saves that I've used to check if the problem is with save or not. I disabled all of these minor problems, used different saves, etc - nothing helps that chest besides removing items from it.

Has anybody ever found the answer to this?

I've done a full format and reinstall of windows, twice, the only things installed are Steam and Skyrim and every piece of clothing/armor in my inventory shows a bad error ID.

With mods installed it's worse, some things can't be removed from inventory, other things won't stay equipped, my load order is Skyrim and the update, usleep and the DLC's compound the problem as do any armor addons.

The CK won't package mods correctly in this state, Tes5Edit shows the same errors but no way to fix it.

Ideas Anyone?

Specs: Asus Maximus 5 Extreme

3770k @4.6

32Gb Ram

Gtx 1070 x 3

2 x 128Gb Ocz Vertex3 MaxIOPS Raid0

Edit: They cannot be removed from inventory individually with the console, it says either item removed and 'inv' shows it's still there, or item count 0 with the same result, removing 'all' always leaves one item still to be removed, and after that the inventory is empty. As soon as you add any item of clothing/armor it has the same error eg..

1 - Leather armor (0003619e) (100,100%)

---> BAD EDITOR ID (00036199)

This issue often causes clothing not to auto equip on NNPCs, leaving them without clothing, though the items are in their inventory. The issue is that the clothing ID differs from that in the editor, though I haven't figured out how to correct this and no one seems to know how to either.`
