theDemonJackal Posted January 13, 2014 Author Share Posted January 13, 2014 So I have actaully been working on the character of the Nun for the last while and trying to come up with a decent back story and name for the sister. Since this post began the Preacher has been the one to gather the most attention, but that is due to the fact(at least on my part) that writing for a woman is hard yet alone writing for a nun character. The Preacher would be competening with the likes of Niner, Desmond, and Russel while the nun would be competing with Wendy, Delilah, Melissa, Ares, Sunny and of Course Willow. So they both would have some fierce competition and a lot to live up to. The work done on the preacher is something amazing and I think the accepted story is: 1. He is from the bible belt of the country and grew up in commuinities where there were surviving practioniors of the christian faith. (Perhaps NashVille or Lone Star) 2. His is a man in his mid to late fifties and primary weapon is a revolver ( I'd say Ranger Sequoia since it the least flashy looking and packs a punch) and a bowie knife (the idea of him with anything larger seems a little silly) 3. While in the Mojave he stayed with a family whom were nice enough to give him shelter. Having been treated with such kindness he owed the family a depth. A few days after he left he ran into the legion who proceeded to ignore his attempt to convert them and decided to crucify him. After being beaten down by men much younger than himself he was tied to the cross and beaten further for another five days before they left in the direction of the families home. Feeling death close in on him he prayed one last time. He didnt pray for his life to be spared, nor did he pray for his wounds to be healed, He prayed that the family that showed him such kindness would be saved by someone. However, having been beaten around for the last few days caused the ropes that bound him to weaken, and causing them to snap after he had finished his prayer. The man on the cross next to the preacher had a pistol, a stimpack and ammo on his person, which the preacher took. Thanking him and praying his soul found peace he chased after the solidiers. Arriving too late to save the parents, he just barely saved the life of their daughter. He shot all but one soldier whom ran away after the man had killed his comrades. After finding her a home he left the desert for almost two decades, travelling through Legion controlled terratories and spreading the myth of the Avenging Angel. Now he has come back to where it all began. 4. Dressed in a simple duster thats darker than the usual duster (or desert ranger duster) 5. Found in Nipton saying prayers for those being crucified after you have talked to the legion and they have left. Now the nun companion. I have come up with a name, and personality for her. Her weapon of choice is Maria(or a version of it anyways) or a sawn off shot gun. Sister Margareta (as she calls herself) is looking for an escort from Primm to the Vegas strip. If asked why a nun is going to the strip? She will simply say that its the will of a Higher power that she be there. She wears a Wimple that covers the majority of her face bar her eyes claiming its to help make her more approacable. While she is a Nun she also claims to be a ghoul, a point that is proven to be false once you get to Vegas. Its in Freeside when we see something is wrong, where her almost shy voice turns to something more at home in the wasteland. When questioned about this she will fiegn ignorance acting as if nothing has happened. Once access is granted to the strip she will once again change her voice into something more typical of women in the Mojave. She then states that she needs to go to Gommorah and talk to the family head, once again stating that it is part of her mission. And once you bring her to the head he kicks her out claiming that the goods were clearly fake causing a rather large and uncharacteristic "F**k" From Sister Margareta, who then reveals that she is a nun but not a ghoul. In Fact she is a nun but not a very good one. She tries her best but kinda likes being the bad girl she was in her youth. While its not entirely what I wanted in a gunslinger preacher I am satisfied with the preacher companion and now I am occupying my time with a few ideas floating about my head. However I think I need to join a team or something to get any of my ideas out there. Being here for about 5 years I have never been able to contribute because I am not very techno savey, but I have had plenty of ideas for mods ranging from impossible to simple.
