card still not available for normal price. i do not support this topic currently. if someone has specific questions please send a pm.

update dez 2021 - in august i thought prices are high.  but they stupidly increased 400E and more until Dez.

so no fun for gamer with no card. i hope this changes in the mid or end of 2022. we will probably never see the recommended starting prices again.

update jan 2022:

finally, after the release of the 3080 12GB card, nvidia shows its true face. now we can clearly identify the true and leading scalper in this dirty "pushing prices" game which is a major pain for all gamer. and amd does not much better.

i confirm my own jan 2022 update for 40xx generation. impressing cards but even more impressing prices. my card is just 50% as fast as the 4090 but i can live with that.

at least 3080 prices are now close to "normal".

Video card prices got stupid due to the pandemic, which cause the chip shortage. Mainly because pretty much ALL production simply stopped for a while. Things have recovered from that, and prices are much closer to 'normal', but, still higher than they were before the pandemic, which really shouldn't come as a surprise, considering EVERYTHING is more expensive than it was pre-pandemic......

That said, the 4 series cards are coming out? :D Not that I am in a hurry to upgrade, my 3070 does me just fine.

If you haven't purchased the NVidia RTX 30 series you might want to read the latest reports about Intel planning to surpass AMD and NVidia.

I noted that a woman sold all her NVidia shares a few days ago.  She also got attention on the WSJ for doing it when she bought shares  of another companies.

And EVGA dropped NVidia.... They will no longer sell EVGA branded NVidia cards.....

EVGA was a great maker and will sadly be missed but I can't see intel beating Nvidia or AMD any time soon, maybe in 5 or 10 years they be close or on the same level.

Don't underestimate Intel. :) They have been doing video chips for decades, just, nothing really performance oriented. Not like they are completely new to the game. Should be interesting. :D

i hope intel will take part soon (within the next 5 years) in this competiton. driver compatibility for older graphics interfaces and games is their biggest handicap. and that is what counts at least for me.
