Dialogue Bug (NO VOICES)

Hello everyone,

As it is said in the title, I'm having a problem with Fallout 4 when launched using MO2 (with F4SE - I don't know if it can be a cause of my problem).

So when I started a new game with all my mods enabled, I quickly found it strange that my character was not speaking (no voice and no mouth movements) during the character creation and the intro (after the character was created - not the opening cinematic, which had voices), as I saw that my game was showing the subtitles correctly.

I tried to fix that bug myself so (none of this solved my problem) :

  • I left the game and went on steam to check if there was a problem in the game files : no problem found,
  • I tried to reinstall my games and the in-game problems were the same,
  • I reinstalled all my mods with MO2 in the same order as I did before but it didn't do anything,
  • I checked the priorities of my mods (but I don't think it is due to a conflict between my mods).

The only mod that I think could be the cause of this bug is the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch, as it is the only mod that can modify dialogues.

I tried to load a save and create a new game without my mods (via the Steam launcher) and it worked fine, so I guess it's because of some mods I installed

I can provide a screenshot of my MO2 mod list and plugins if needed.

(Excuse me if my english is sometime hard to understand, it is not my native language)

I found the solution ! (work with any languages, but english may be less concerned)

It may not be the solution if you are encountering the same problem but as i'm not playing in english (in french, more precisely), I didn't think that the solution could be this simple :

  1. Get access to your fallout.ini file using the MO2 .ini editor.
  2. Find the first line in [General] : "sLanguage=" (in my case "sLanguage=en" but I want to play in french so "sLanguage=fr")
  3. Find the third line in [Archive] : "SResourceArchiveList=" (same as before, "SResourceArchiveList=Fallout4 - Voices.ba2" but in french it's "SResourceArchiveList=Fallout4 - Voices_fr.ba2")
  4. You're done, save the .ini file and your problem should be solved !

To adapt this solution to your language, just change the "_fr" with your language ("es" for spanish, "it" for italian, etc...)

Have a great day and I hope this topic helped you !
