How do I move an object in the base game without making a duplicate

Recommended Posts

All I am trying to do is fix a few errors with Morrowind Rebirth and the Mushroom Tree Replacer mod. In a few areas, the trees are not properly lined with other objects (lanterns, walls) so I just need to nudge them over a bit. Problem is with the test mod I made there is still a tree on the original location -- so two trees. The only solution I have found is to hit r to disable the original tree and then make a copy of that tree to line up correctly. Is this the correct solution or is there a better way?

I am not a modder at all and am only doing this as now one else has fixed this problem. Its been a huge pain just to get my regular mods to work (largely successful now) and having to look up all this crap just to move an object over a bit is driving me crazy.

Thanks for your help.

an esp can't move references of an other esp.

morrowind rebirth is an esp and if you load it as not active, then move trees and save as a new esp, you end up with duplicates.

loading morrowind rebirth as active and editing it directly will not create duplicates, but for every update you would have to do it again.

not 100% sure, but possible solution, converting morrowind rebirth to an esm will let you change it with a esp. but i guess with morrowind rebirth updates some stuff may "break" if some bigger changes are made... (maybe contact trancemaster directly for a suggestion for the best solution)

Okay I will give the active mod bit a try.

Its not THAT time consuming to fix, its just been annoying since I've already made the fixes 1 1/2 times already. For now I will just make the mod per update but I'll see if I can talk to trance for a more permanent solution.

Thanks a lot for the help. Its been very frustrating so far.
