[CK Help] Can't move reasonably through a cell

I'm very new to this so forgive me. I haven't found videos that tell me the secret, they just show me what they did, and I don't know what they're doing to the keyboard and mouse to make it happen.

Here's the thing: I go to a cell in the cell view (Under Commonwealth, say SanctuaryExt)

It renders, with me staring at the ground. Fine. Shift+LMB and I rotate the camera so I'm not staring where my feet would be.

Now, to move to the workshop. Hit the arrow key. Wow, I moved like 50 yards every time I tap a key. That is not what I wanted at all.

How do I make it do the sensible thing here?

Basic navigation in the Render window:

1. Press M. This turns off markers, like enemy spawns, lights markers, etc. You can turn them back on later by hitting M again.

2. Pick an object, a box, a floor piece, whatever, and select it with the left mouse button. This is the object you will begin your navigation around.

3. Holding Shift + Left Mouse rotates around the selected object.

4. Holding down the Space bar lets you drag the view with the Left Mouse Button.

So select object, rotate around it, hold space and slide the view, select a new object to be your center, do it again.

Biggest thing to get used to is that the Right Mouse is used to both rotate and object and to call up the contextual menu where such useful things as "Edit" are. That makes it very, very easy to accidentally rotate something when all you want to do is edit it. This is what is known in the tech world as "a really stupid design decision."
