Aela face mods not working

I'm trying to mods Aela's face with different mods, but no matter the combinations or load orders after every mod she just appears her normal self, only difference being that she no longer has her warpaint. I find it curious after uninstalling all my facial, hair, and eye mods that I still can't get any of the many Aela mods out there to change her appearance. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem?

BTW, I'm trying to get this mod to work: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/22524/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D22524%26preview%3D&pUp=1.

It changes most of the companions, and the only two that don't work for some reason are Aela and Skjor.

I am getting the same problem...it occures with all of the companions though, not just Aela. I can restore her default vanilla appearance by uninstalling whatever mod would affect Aela but any mod I use on her causes her face to be light red, lots of freckles and no paint. Has ANYBODY found a fix on this?

Install your mods properly, they should have facegen data when you install them. If they don't, you have to open the esp file in the Creation Kit, locate the actor in the Actor category (NOT the All category at the bottom), select them and press Ctrl + F4 to export their facegen data.

Aela the Huntress face fix to restore the Default face. To Unbake the her black head pale boby.

this is not a mod but still very easy. Start the cs check skyrim.ems and update.ems and you select her from actors, Hit (ctr + f4) you get her face back,No saves required.it just restored her face. This IS the Original FACE so there a red tattoo warpaint.

It works because the saves and mods have nothing to do with the error. Its a bug with how skyrim handles nif and dds files. Now you can try other mods to alter her to your liking.

if I was less lazy I would make mod that would restore all the games default FaceTints in c:\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data\textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint

Or maybe some brave soul will create a skse plugin to add the equivalent of bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 to the game fallout has it Skyrim dose not.

But for now here your fix. I might get ambitious I do something but like I said this is very easy.

That will not always work in these case, because games Appending to the data not overwriting it. That why if you reinstall the mod she just get darker and darker. And going to a old save will not help.
