What were the Aliens trying to do on MSZ?

It may have been discussed before, but what do YOU all think the aliens were trying to do in mothership Zeta?

I cant seem to think of anything particularly interesting.

So in your opinion, why have they been observing the human race throughout its history? What have they done? What will they do?

For good or ill?

What were they DOING? And why?

They are aliens - they don't think like us. Their motive may be 'alien' to our way of thinking altogether. As a wacky guess it has something to do with using the giddyup Buttercup toy pony to somehow control what is left of humanity.

Why? So that they can find every last one of those robot ponies. :laugh:

If you think in terms of B movies, pulp and other crap Fallout is unfortunately based on*, reason, what reason?

 

A real explanation: anthropology, in the most literal sense. And biowarfare on the side. Judging from the data entries on the garbage areas, this is because Humans are so much better than than them at violence and war AND physically superior, MSZ invokes the trope Humans are Warriors. I mean five humans take on a ship full of these guys. It's like a better lit version of Alien, with humans as the xenomorphs.

 

As for them lighting the nukes off....they didn't. Or at least the evidence doesn't support it. The Chinese fired first: and they fired first because the US Army had defeated the PLA in semi-conventional warfare, to the point that Beijing was surrounded, and when the American's stormed the Marco Polo Bridge, China nuked everyone. The US had no reason to do it: they'd already won. Now....if they abducted a Chinese official with the launch codes on their side....then.....

 

....And even then, we don't even know what era the football handler was from. Realistically, any time between the 1970s and 2070s. In fact, its really impossible to date ANY of the recordings without date using cultural cues.

 

 

*Not that rigorous science and research makes a work better. Carl Sagan's Contact proved this by sucking, and Fallout is, despite all problems, f*#@ing awesome

More than likely they were trying to fuse their alien and our human DNA ... trying to make some

kind of mutation ... you know, their brains and our ability to live on the Earth as they were at a

physically disadvantage.

 

And of course they had some kind fetish thing going on with giddyup buttercup :laugh:

I would question that as aliens have made appearances in every main Fallout game.
